Was your first baby early, on time-ish, or late???

Am due 3rd Jan, obv thinking about the birth a lot, and just curious really!

I've heard that first babies are often late, but wondered what your experiences were?

Also my mum was late with all three of us, anyone think these things run in the family?

All suddenly hit me as I flew past the 37 week mark and realised I'm now officially full-term

I was 11 days late with DD. She was due on 14th Jan and arrived on the 25th. I was expecting her to appear during Christmas so was shocked (for some strange reason lol) that she didn't!

and which due date do you use - have had 3 now (Calculated on edd and then on 2 scans) all within about 8 days.

Really bloody late - 3 weeks after the date they gave me at my first scan!!

4 weeks early with ds (just to prove your theory wrong )
dd (my second was 2 days late...)

DS born at 40+9. From the day I found out I was pg, I just knew my baby would be overdue, and he was!

First baby was 3 days early so was my second baby, my third baby is due on 6th Jan so i'll let you know!

12 days late. Little sod I expected to be early - despite knowing firsts are often late... I thought that wouldn't be me. I read that 5% of babies arrive on their EDD and so believed I'd be part of that elite.

They were the longest 12 days of my life!

My mum was very early with me - 33 weeks - and 37 with my brother - so I don't think it runs in the family.

every baby in my family had been born five days late so was convinced i would be late too. as i posted earlier, dc1 was due date, the other two were early

due 28th dec... was 3 days early

dd1 was 7 days late

1st 2 wks late
2nd 2 wks early
3rd day before EDD

ds1 on due date. Ds2 was a week early. All my friends said that they would be now way I would be late because I hate being late for anything. My mum was late with all 3 of us, so not sure about it running in the family

funnypeculiar, not my theory cos i don't have one, just think people have said it to me before - am bloody clueless tbh!

37+5 weeks with number 1

41+6 weeks with number 2 double

Chunky - it was one I'd heard too - something like 80% of first-timers give birth after their due date (which seemed rather counter-intuitive to me!) Typical of my kids to arse the thing up

dc1 - 37 wks, dc2 - 37 wks (well as near as damn it - actually the night before).

My mum had my bro - due date, then me - 2 wks late.

I heard somewhere that the most common date to give birth is 3 days overdue!!

yeah, everyone told me that first babies are usually late and i believed them! all three of mine have been early, 3 weeks, 4 wks & 6 wks...

All 3 of us were late, and i thought first babies were usually late, so I'd only just bought the basics when dd arrived a month early

My dd was born a day late , although contractions started the day before my due date.

Don't think it does run in the family when babies are born as my sister was born at 36 weeks, me at 38 weeks (I think), and my nephew was two weeks late!

Over two weeks late and induced with all four of my girls.

My mum was over 2 wks over and induced with me but not with my bro and 3 sisters.

btw gigglewitch, hope it wasn't actually IN snow... doesn't sound like the easiest birth if so bbbbrrrr....
