Hi @Wopies Congratulations on the twins! It feels like were expecting around half a dozen set of twins on this thread! When the dated you 6+5, how far along did you think you were according to your LMP? and were they able to detect both heartbeats at the scan?

Firsttimetrier · 17/12/2021 15:18

Congratulations @Wopies !

Maybe I’ve been totally naive but I’m so impressed with how many of you are expecting twins! It’s amazing! I always thought it was much rarer but how exciting!!

Aims1991 · 17/12/2021 15:39

Seeing this go to 3+ helped settle my nerves before my scan tomorrow

Cleozeta · 17/12/2021 16:35

Congrats @wopies
I am also due twins end of July! How are you feeling? Do you know what type of twins you are having? Mine are mono-something dio-something I think, can't remember the full technical term! But they have their own sacs which are in one gestational sac, from one embryo, so identical.

Spottybutterfly · 17/12/2021 17:02

I want to scream at my husband, he's not really getting how bad the morning sickness is. With comments like "well you did all this last week so you should be able to do it now" and after me saying I could bearly get out of bed, "I thought you were coming to Asda with me", like he can't go on his own for 3 things. I feel so queasy and have cyclezine from the GP but think I need something else. I know it's going to get worse as I'm at week 5, don't know how I'm going to cope, just had 2 days off work, but it's not like I can take 7 weeks off.

Wopies · 17/12/2021 18:43

@HA22 From my dates I was almost 8 weeks so just over a week earlier. One twin was measuring 6w5day and the other they said a day or two behind but they could see both heartbeats clearly. I wish I'd asked for a picture or taken a picture of the screen but I was in so much shock I didn't think to.

@cleozeta mine aren't identical they have their own sacs and own placenta. I'm starting to feel sick but no more so than in my previous pregnancy (with one). Massive shock that it's too though and while I am happy I am really worried about how I will afford childcare for two and will have to buy a new car that fits three car seats. How are you feeling?

Tamz1985 · 17/12/2021 19:02

Hi everyone I'm due August 2nd look forward to getting to know you

Danani · 17/12/2021 19:07

Hi ladies, how did everyone’s scans go today? I hope you all got good news and feeling relieved! ❤️
@Luckyfamilymum @Mabali @TeacherMama91

Tamz1985 · 17/12/2021 19:32

Hi ladies my message got cut short. I'm almost 8 weeks had an early scan and 1 baby with a strong heartbeat.
This is my 4th baby but 1st with my new partner I'm excited yet scared and the night nausea is tough I work for the NHS 4pm til 2am and all shift I gag and feel sick open to tips. Good luck everyone and not long until bumps show. I am trying to figure out when to tell work probably after 12 week scan.

Luckyfamilymum · 17/12/2021 19:54

Congratulations on all the twins! I’m gobsmacked at how many we have, it’s wonderful news!

Thanks for asking @Danani… the scan went really well! We are so happy!

Everything is in the right place, LMP has me at 7+2 but I was dated 7 so I’m happy with that :)
That little heartbeat on the screen was just beautiful! I was so worried before hand & convinced there would be something wrong… but no need :)

Due July/August 2022
Jhodd · 17/12/2021 21:38

Hi all, and please can I join! I need support 😂firstly ; Congratulations everyone!

Just found out I’m expecting #2 after a previous eptopic in sept. Due date 27th august atm!
Booked in for early scan first week of jan.

I’m trying to access the Facebook group but it’s not working. Just says decline invitation?!

Thank you all, and look forward to sharing this journey with you! xx

thehokeycokey · 17/12/2021 22:05

@Cleozeta oh wow I bet you were relieved and shocked! I had been having treatment privately for not ovulating and was prescribed clomid, so knew that it could be a possibility... but had a scan last week at 6+4 and so saw the 2 little heartbeats on the screen! Already have a 3yo ds Smile

Symptoms and so much worse this time. Feel sick all day and the tiredness is intense! Hoping it will calm down around the 12 weeks.

Cleozeta · 17/12/2021 22:08

Thank you for the link. I can't get it to work either, although I think it might be my Facebook, I'll try again in a bit.

@wopies I feel nauseous too, it's been similar to the single pregnancies for me too so far, although this evening I made dinner late, and I really felt that! I felt shocking. Evenings are definitely worse for me.
I am still shocked too, I certainly didn't expect two, and I've not yet considered practicalities!! Eek!!

Cleozeta · 17/12/2021 22:13

@thehokeycokey it's so lovely to see that scan with the heartbeats isn't it!
I had treatment too, mine was IVF, although they only transferred one embryo, it split into two!

I am so looking forward to 12 weeks, this first trimester is always the hardest, you feel crap, everything us uncertain, and you can't even tell anyone!! Urgh

Tania6 · 17/12/2021 22:23

Congratulations on the twins!! I am too surprised at the amount of twins in this group!

How exciting to get your scan today! So glad it went well for you.

Hope everyone isn't feeling too bad. I'm going to bed in a minute, nausea is getting to me again.

beckybabyx · 17/12/2021 22:57

Hi all, hope you don’t mind me joining. Got my BFP on Sunday, due 26th august. Had a tiny bit of spotting the past couple of days and I can’t help but worry.. my midwife appointment isn’t until 26th January, does anyone have any advice as it’s my first ever pregnancy and I don’t know what to do/think?

Also I have tried to join the Facebook group xx

HA22 · 18/12/2021 00:34

@Tamz1985 Hi and congratulations!! I am chewing gum pretty much 24/7 beside sleeping or eating as if completely gets rid of my
nausea and makes me feel normal

@Jhodd Congratulations and welcome! praying for
you that this one goes well! we all need support, reading this thread every time someone posts makes me feel like i'm not in this alone xx

Hi @beckybabyx congratulations!! this is also my first pregnancy and I had (and still have) no idea what to think, do or expect. just taking each day as it comes xxx

Also, does anyone know or has had a blood test for thalassaemia and sickle cell done? my pregnancy app says it should be done within the first 10 weeks

Tamz1985 · 18/12/2021 00:53

@beckybabyx I got an early scan at the local epau if you call your gp or you can self refer to some of them. I've bled in my last 3 pregnancies and all OK so hope that offers some hope. I have an area of bleeding next to the sac so that might explain mine.

FeeneeTTC · 18/12/2021 08:58

Hi @beckybabyx congratulations! From your due date I’m guessing you’re about 4 weeks? That is the time (4-5 weeks) when implantation happens so a little bit of spotting is normal. It’s usually pink or slightly brown blood. If it gets heavier and/or turns bright red, then I recommend contacting your gp or 111 for advice.

Firsttimetrier · 18/12/2021 09:25

Congratulations @beckybabyx I remember you from the November conception threads! Nice to see you on here!

How are you feeling? As @FeeneeTTC mentioned, it could be implantation bleeding and anything brown is old blood and should be okay. If it does increase in the amount and turns red, then ring your EPU.

Hope everything goes well ❤️

Aims1991 · 18/12/2021 09:57

Get my scan in the next hour and I'm honestly so nervous 🥺

beckybabyx · 18/12/2021 10:16

Good luck @Aims1991
