@Aims1991 wow that's amazing that you saw everything that early! Surely that's a good sign :-) I had spotting late 5 weeks and also I think the week before. One time it was pink cervical mucus and that was cited as late implantation bleeding. I went to my GP straight away and got my cervix checked - can you do the same? Another time I had full on red blood spotting when wiping and that turned out to be a hematoma (which has since resolved itself) xx

Just had my first scan and was dated at 7+1, so 4 days ahead of what I thought I was. It was perfect! Heart pumping away, yolk sac a good size and in place, no lumps or bumps that shouldn't have been there. I can see it's arms and face on the video that they sent me. I'm thrilled! It definitely feels more real now and I'm relieved that I'm more ahead than I thought. Also, mine was an external scan which I was surprised at

@ellie1789 mine was an external scan and your is so much clearer. I was only 6 weeks. Just shows you the difference 1 week can make.

Coco9910 · 20/12/2021 21:47

Hi, how’s everyone feeling?

Good luck to everyone who has their scans over the next few days 💕

I have my booking in appointment tomorrow and I’m excited for it but I’m so nervous for the blood test! 😩 I’ve never had one before and I’m a big wimp when it comes to needles 🙈 anyone got any advice? I’ve been telling myself to put my big girl pants on and that it will be fine 😅 hopefully won’t be too long until I get a date for my 12 week scan 🥰

Geriatrixia · 20/12/2021 22:02

@Coco9910 As they go to jab you with the needle, concentrate on doing your pelvic floor exercises - flexing those muscles means you’ll be less likely to tense up your arm.

FeeneeTTC · 20/12/2021 22:16

@Coco9910 enjoy your appointment tomorrow! My only advice about the blood test would be don’t look at it, just tell the midwife you don’t want to see any needle and look the other way. And as geriatrixia says, try not to tense. I promise it isn’t half as bad as it feels like it’s going to be, for me pain wise it’s just like getting a vaccine, just a little scratch, except it’ll be in longer so they can attach little vials to draw the blood, which you can’t feel at all.

Coco9910 · 20/12/2021 22:34

@Geriatrixia @FeeneeTTC thank you both! Yes I’m going to let the midwife know and I’m 100% not going to look 😂 I have been doing good with vaccines recently, it was the blood draw that was worrying me but if you can’t feel it that makes me feel better! It will be over before I know it, I’m sure! Just the fear of the unknown 🙈

StartLeo · 21/12/2021 07:26

@Danani

Good morning all!

How are we all doing today?

Congratulations everyone on your fab scan results last week!!! I can only imagine the relief and happiness you must all be flooded with, and I just wish I get to experience that feeling too!

My scan is tomorrow at 7+5.
I am all over the place - I am excited, I am absolutely petrified, I am ready to know one way or the other, I am so not ready...aghhh.

Please send some positive vibes my way for tomorrow!

I know there are quite a few of us going tomorrow, so just wanted to wish you good luck and good news @Firsttimetrier, @strawberrysummer19 and @StartLeo!

@danani thanks! How did all the scans today go? I made a mistake with my dates, my scan is due tomorrow (the 22nd). Anyone else dealing with morning sickness, but in the evening?
Misty84 · 21/12/2021 07:39

@Geriatrixia That’s brilliant advice about pelvic floor exercises- I’ll try that next time!

Hope everyone’s scans are going ok.

I had mine at 7 weeks and I’m wondering whether to book another for 9.5 weeks, I just don’t have any symptoms which although on one hand I’m very grateful for, it also remains hard to believe that I’m actually pregnant! Wish we had a permanent window to see what’s going on in there! Has anyone else had/is planning to have another scan between their early (if you had one) and 12 weeks? Or are you just waiting it out? xx

Rachae · 21/12/2021 08:01

Hey @Misty84 nice to see another still in the no symptom club! I get mild ones that are not classic, like vivid dreams or bit of hunger but nothing solid. My boobs are also big one day and small the next! It's sooo hard with nothing consistent isn't it?

I had a 8+3 scan after my 7 week scan, and I've got another booked in for 10+3. (NYE of all days!) I've had 5 scans so far and it's really helping me to connect given I can't 'feel' anything xx

Dani7 · 21/12/2021 08:11

I’ve just booked to have a scan at 8+3… it is supposed to be a dating scan but it was so much cheaper than the early scan. Hoping we might see a bit more too. This will be our first scan. I never had a private scan with my first but we are concerned that our 12 week scan will be late due to not having booking in scan until nearly 11 weeks (they book our scan at this appointment) and I can’t be doing with the anxiety much longer! We are also concerned lockdown is looming and hubby might not be allowed in again - at least this way, he would have seen them for the first appointment and I should go in to the ‘official’ dating scan a bit more confident. So basically reassures us and hopefully saves some anxiety!

ellie1789 · 21/12/2021 08:45

@Aims1991 that was the best photo of the bunch. It was hard to see in parts and looked like a wiggly eel on most of the photos, so I must have been the same as you

@Coco9910 I'm terrified too. I haven't had one for at least 10 years and I cried like a baby last time

@Misty84 I'm thinking of another before my 12 weeks but I'll see how I am over Christmas before booking another in. It feels like I long wait otherwise

rosewater20 · 21/12/2021 08:45

I had my first scan yesterday and everything looks great and we saw a nice strong heartbeat!

How is everyone feeling? My symptoms have ramped up in the past few days, constant feeling of sickness and needing to eat all the time (including getting up the middle of the night to eat) to keep sickness manageable. I am having smell and food aversions and I am very bloated. I did have heart palpitations about a week ago but those have stopped now (and OB confirmed they are normal). I feel thankful to have symptoms because it keeps my anxiety about baby down but it's also so hard to feel so poorly. I have so much to get done around the house as in laws are arriving this week for the holidays and I just don't have the energy.

Misty84 · 21/12/2021 10:28

Thanks @Rachae yeah it is weird feeling completely normal!! I really thought I’d have some classic symptoms but I’ve just had sore boobs and even that’s fading now. So I don’t feel pregnant whatsoever despite being over 2 months🙃
After yours and @ellie1789 ‘s opinions I’ll think I’ll book for next week on the 30th. Just need the reassurance that the little thing is still alive in there! 😛 xx

Firsttimetrier · 21/12/2021 11:01

@Misty84 I wish I could have a little window to see if things are okay in there!

Got my scan tonight and I’m worried that there’s nothing actually in there and the symptoms are all in my head 😂.

Really hoping that we see a strong heartbeat and then I can relax a bit more.

Definitely think anxiety will be way less in the second trimester when you can feel the baby kicking etc!

HA22 · 21/12/2021 12:05

Morning all, just came back from my first appointment with the midwife. Did a urine sample, blood pressure measurement, height and weight and around 4 blood samples which she said will check for thalassaemia, sickle cell, hep B, HIV and syphilis plus a normal one to check iron levels etc. She has arranged for a phone call on Friday to discuss setting up an online account for my maternity notes because they are now on an app instead of paper? I will also be able to see my blood test results on there too. She also asked when was your LMP and is it your first pregnancy etc (currently 7+5 today) x

Misty84 · 21/12/2021 12:16

@Firsttimetrier Is this your first scan? How far along are you? It’s so amazing seeing the heartbeat🥰 I hope all goes well for you!

And I totally agree, once we have an actual bump and can feel movement and kicking we’ll feel much less anxious!

Geriatrixia · 21/12/2021 12:17

We had an early scan this morning - should have been 8+1 but she couldn’t see a sac or anything. She advised us to call the EPU, they can’t see me until first thing tomorrow morning.

I’m still having symptoms, still testing positive, but it seems like no one is in there. I was certain of my dates, so I’m not expecting good news.

Rachae · 21/12/2021 12:26

@geriatrixia I'm so sorry to hear this. Hope you're ok ❤️ xxx

Firsttimetrier · 21/12/2021 12:46

@Misty84 I’m 7+6 or 7+5 depending whether the app calculates on LMP or ovulation.

I’m so sorry @Geriatrixia I hope you get some answers from the EPU.

ellie1789 · 21/12/2021 12:47

@Geriatrixia I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope that you get answers soon x

@rosewater20 I'm feeling so many! My nausea isn't as bad as yours but I'm definitely finding that I'm having to eat small and frequently. Have you found a food that helps with your energy levels? Make sure to get lots of carbs. My boobs have grown, are tender, and they're more blue with veins. I struggle to pee properly, kind of dribbles out. I'm constipated, breathless, bloated, tired and keep waking up early. I also get the odd cramp or twinge in my stomach area. I'm not complaining though, just feel a bit weird

Misty84 · 21/12/2021 12:58

So, so sorry @Geriatrixia 😞

Danani · 21/12/2021 13:02

Hi all!

I just had my scan this morning (through the vajine)!
We saw baby, and a heartbeat and it measured 8+1 at 16.70mm, so I'm feeling massively relieved with that!
I didn't/don't have much in terms of symptoms other than sore boobs, so was quite worried there would be nothing in there, but we saw our little bean! The heart was flickering away which was so cool to see!

They didn't write or tell me any numbers re heartbeat, Ive seen some of you have the values but those were not on my report and I didn't think to ask!

Only slightly odd thing is that he didn't say anything but on the report afterward it said "left ovary visualized - no masses, no free fluids" but also said "right ovary not visualized - no massess, no free fluids". Not sure why that would be! But since he didn't say anything I'm choosing not to worry about it. Will probably ask my midwife next week about it. I imagine it has not, but has this happened to anyone else?

Danani · 21/12/2021 13:06

Oh FFS! Now I feel like a right tit! My page refreshed when I hit Post and only just saw your message @Geriatrixia!
I am so so so sorry for what you're going through, this is absolutely heartbreaking. :( I'm sending you a big hug, and I have everything crossed that EPU gives you some positive news tomorrow morning!! xxx
