@sjxoxo have heard the French care is great for maternity, hope they're really looking after you!

@spttc I'm being induced next week, at 38 weeks. Feeling quite nervous, but they've given me a day to come in and sit and wait for the next slot

BobbleWobble1 · 13/01/2022 15:39

@sjxoxo congratulations! Hope you're both doing well.

@DoctorBambino good luck! Hope all goes well.

Sounds like a few of you have inductions planned - not long to go now!

Update from me - 40+1 now and probably the only person on the planet that's hoping baby stays put a little longer as I'm now covid positive. I really have a way of timing things! Hope everyone else is doing better than me.

LilmissCa · 13/01/2022 16:47

@BobbleWobble1 ah no.. hope you manage covid ok & it clears up quickly!!

I'm 40wk today, got sweep this morning, said I'm 2cm (but this could be due to it being my 2nd) cervix is soft but still long & she could feel the babies head. It's made me super excited. I've been bouncing & pumping all day with no change!

Luckymamma · 13/01/2022 18:19

@sjxoxo huge congrats!! How exciting! Well done for getting through a birth that maybe wasn’t what you hope for but sounds like you took it all in your stride, and your beautiful boy is with you!

@DoctorBambino hope all is going well!

@Trinacham I think we have the same due date? 29th? I’ve been having so many BH it’s unreal. I did with my other 2 as well in the lead up so I’m hoping this means I won’t be too long after due date! They are getting pretty strong now (not painful tho) so my uterus is getting a good work out!

Hope everyone else is doing ok! How strange that we all get to meet our bubbas in a matter of days/weeks now!

Crazydoglady123 · 13/01/2022 18:31

@sjxoxo congrats!

@BobbleWobble1 I'm 39 weeks today and tested positive too! I'm not too bad symptom wise. Mainly just ache! My OH had it last week and we've been so separate I thought I'd swerved it. For me if she comes now it's okay, I have to go the main hospital rather than MLU but OH allowed to still be with me.

Trinacham · 13/01/2022 18:41

@Luckymamma ah, we do! Today is the first day I've truly felt uncomfortable so it is hitting home how close we are now

Luckymamma · 13/01/2022 20:51

@Trinacham oh bless you! Glad you’ve made it this far feeling more too bad tho! I’ve had horrible gerd/reflux for months, and now the braxton hicks are ramping it it’s def discomfort territory! But yeah, scary how it suddenly gets very real! Is this your first? X

Littlemiss41andfabulous · 13/01/2022 20:52

Hi everyone, it's lovely hearing everyone's updates!

I'm 38 weeks exactly today and have a growth scan on Monday and as she's been growing on the big side (7lb at 34.5weeks) I'm fully expecting them to say they want to induce me soon after that (also due to my age) so really not long to go now. I'm glad too as it's been pretty uncomfortable this last week.

Wishing you all the best as you get to know your new babies, or wait excitedly for them to arrive XxX

sociallydistained · 13/01/2022 23:02

Also 38 weeks exactly today and tomorrow is my last day of work! I keep saying surely I'll go into labour Saturday as I really really want a week to myself next week! I can't believe this moment has finally come around.

Somebody kindly gifted me a tens machine today so I need to give that a go as my midwife suggested a bit of practice with it. I am getting mild period like cramps now and often in the evenings so she suggested trying it on those!

Beccaden · 13/01/2022 23:19

Hello - I’m 39w 2d and have a slightly random one. I have an Apple Watch which I’m always interested to see my resting heartrate. As expected fed it climbed when I got pregnant right through to end of second trimester. In third trimester however it has completely fallen right back to pre pregnancy levels. Has anyone else ever known this to happen? I’m worried it isn’t doing it’s job and may not be supplying baby properly?

Little update from me, baby Max joined us on 11.1.22 at 37w1d. He is absolutely gorgeous and a dream come true. Unfortunately we have been struggling to control his jaundice so are still in hospital but it finally looks like we might have it sorted tomorrow!

Best of luck to everyone! I am so happy to have my gorgeous boy!

Scottishgal85 · 14/01/2022 04:22

@DoctorBambino huge congratulations to you on the birth of baby Max! It really is the most wonderful thing isn't it!!
I hope you manage to get out of hospital soon so you can get home and settled. 🥰 xx

Trinacham · 14/01/2022 08:22

@Luckymamma it is our first! What about for you?

Congratulations @DoctorBambino
Max is my DH's name!💙 🤞 to going home soon

BobbleWobble1 · 14/01/2022 10:32

@DoctorBambino congratulations. Hope you both get home soon.

@Crazydoglady123 sorry you're also positive. Hope you're still feeling ok. For me it was basically a mild head cold. All I have is a stuffed nose now. I'm just hoping baby will stay put until I'm through the isolation as hopefully that will keep more birth options on the table. DH and DS are still negative so also hoping they avoid it as that actually causes bigger problems for us.

Luckymamma · 14/01/2022 10:41

@DoctorBambino Congrats on the arrival of baby Max! Fingers crossed for coming home today!

@Trinacham this our 3rd. A boy after 2 girls :)

@Beccaden don’t know much about heart rates in preg, but maybe the heart just gets used to the extra blood flow etc? If the blood flow on the scans has been measuring ok then I’m sure nothing to worry about but if you can’t rest your mind on it just pop a call into your gp or midwife? Xx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 14/01/2022 11:01

Congratulations @DoctorBambino!

Those with coronavirus hope you get better soon

LilmissCa · 14/01/2022 11:11

@DoctorBambino massive congrats!! Hopefully yous get out today !

@Beccaden mines dropped too.. pic below! I'm 40w+1.

Evening all! How’s everyone doing? Wanted to ask, out of pure curiosity, how’s everyone doing with choosing a name? (Not asking for name disclosure!)
We think we’ve settled on ours but always keep an open mind until after the birth. Do everyone else have a set name, or are people going with a short list?

38 weeks today and so very ready now!!!

Trinacham · 15/01/2022 19:27

@Luckymamma we are pretty sure we know our baby's name as it has been our favourite boy's name ever since we found out we were expecting. But we aren't saying it out loud or telling people as we want to wait and meet him first, just to be sure. We've never had any other names in mind at all though so I think it's the one!

LilmissCa · 15/01/2022 19:30

We've a girls name picked but going to be in trouble if it's a boy .. struggling with boys names!!

sjxoxo · 15/01/2022 19:53

@DoctorBambino congrats on baby max!! Hope you will be home soon!
We came home this afternoon, it was really surreal! DH said to me ‘feels like we’ve stolen something from the hospital’ 😁
Had the best cup of tea of my life haha.

Who has a due date coming up next? Excited to hear all of your updates Xox

BobbleWobble1 · 15/01/2022 20:06

@Luckymamma we have a shortlist of 3 names. Thought it would be easier this time as we know the sex but I think it's been harder!

@sjxoxo glad to hear that you're home and we'll

40+3 today and still waiting! DH is now covid positive just to add to the havoc that is my life right now. Hopefully I can stop isolating on Monday with the new rules. Hope everyone else is well.

SouthwestSis · 15/01/2022 20:47

Oh @BobbleWobble1 I'm so sorry to hear your husband has got it too!
I wouldn't hold your breath for getting out on Monday, I don't know anyone who's had a negative lateral flow until at least day 8, but maybe you will be lucky!
We know we're having a boy but are still really stuck for names, my husband has his absolutely favourite picked out but I'm not really a fan of it, I have 2 others I feel sort of lukewarm about but that's it. The poor thing may well go weeks without a name!

Zonedoutallnight · 15/01/2022 22:37

Congratulations all who’ve brought home their little ones already.

DH tested covid positive today. I’ve not got it (yet) so we are in separate bedrooms trying to avoid each other as much as possible and desperately hoping that baby stays put for the next week. I’m just coming up to 38 weeks so it’s a little worrying. Not sure who I would have as my birth partner if he can’t come. There’s not really anyone else I trust enough.

When it comes to names I’m hoping that I will look at them and the name will appear in my brain. I don’t know if I’m having a boy or a girl and haven’t got a shortlist for either!

Yesterday I was feeling very prepared and now I feel like I’m not ready at all.

BobbleWobble1 · 16/01/2022 12:04

@SouthwestSis yeah I was deluding myself, still positive today. Not particularly hopeful for tomorrow really.

@Zonedoutallnight sorry your husband has tested positive. Is it your first baby? I did speak to the midwives for a bit of a practicalities chat just so I could try and figure out the best plan in this mess! Childcare is our biggest issue as now we have no one for DS while we're both positive but if we didn't have these issues, DH would be allowed with me while we're both positive as they'd be isolating me anyway. It's a lot more uncertain if he's positive but I'm not. If DH can't be with me, I'll be flying solo. There's no one else I'd want with me.
