Bleeding after TMI bowel movement

Has anyone ever experienced this? I was spotting last night only when wiping and had nothing at al today but I've just been and opened my bowels and it's there again 😭 I've been beside myself with worry all day so much so I've told my boss at work in case I ran off crying. I'm only 5 weeks tomorrow (according to lmp) it's never been bright red, only pink and I'm in no pain apart from the usual jiggles and back ache.

I've gone from posting barely ever to posting all the time 🙈 so I do apologise

You sure it's from the 'front' and not 'back'? Piles are really common in pregnancy as your veins relax, and even a little bit of straining to poo can cause a bit of bleeding.

Finalbaby · 08/11/2021 05:54

Yeah definitely from the front, I found a lot of stuff online about it so I'm feeling a bit better. Apparently the cervix is very sensitive and due to the extra blood flow in the body, straining bursts blood vessels easily so more fibre in my diet is needed! Never experienced it before, so I frightened myself!

Yes that's true too, extra blood flow can irritate the vaginal lining and cervix so a bit of spotting is very common in early pregnancy. :) if it's just tiny bit after straining I wouldn't worry too much! If you start getting cramps or it gets heavier then contact the EPU just to be sure and for peace of mind.

Finalbaby · 08/11/2021 10:04

Thank you, it has got heavier so I've called my gp and theyve referred me to pau just waiting for a call back but it's not looking good unfortunately

Oh no! Let us know how you get on. Don't give up yet, it may be nothing xxx

Finalbaby · 08/11/2021 11:37

They've booked me in for a scan tomorrow but I'm not very hopeful anything will be found the bleeding pretty full on now but again only when I go to the toilet, only a few spots on a pad x

@Finalbaby you were on my post earlier.
I'm glad they've booked you in for an early scan tomorrow. Hopefully we will both have good news in the morning. My bleeding is pretty full on now too.
Sending positive thoughts your way

floofycroissant · 08/11/2021 14:59

Final, going through exactly the same here. Booked in on Thursday, now in quite a bit of discomfort. Really hope you get good news tomorrow

Finalbaby · 08/11/2021 15:11

It makes me so sad that so many of us are going through this 😔 also in quite a lot of pain around my hips and pelvis. Sending hugs to both of you lady's. It's such a hard time x

@floofycroissant and @Finalbaby how are you both feeling? Iv started clotting tonight which can't be a good sign. The pain has eased a little mind. Thinking of you both

Finalbaby · 08/11/2021 20:53

@Sunshinelollypops8 my pains have subsided apart from the backache which I've had since Friday when I got my bfp. My bleeding has slowed but is still there, I've not noticed any large clots but tiny ones a little earlier on. Still not very hopeful for tomorrow but just hoping that everything has come away on its own rather than needing any treatment x

Sunshinelollypops8 · 08/11/2021 21:06

@Finalbaby oh I'm glad the pains have subsided for you too. Yeah Iv only started getting little clots just like you mentioned. What times your appointment? Mines at 10.30. It's frustrating our partners can't come in with us 🥺. Is this your first baby?

derryrose1980 · 08/11/2021 21:21

I had this from early pregnancy especially if a bit constipated or big bowel movement. I have cervical erosion and think two were linked. Still happens occasionally now after pregnancy. Worried me sick but all was well xx

floofycroissant · 08/11/2021 21:33

Partners can't attend appointments? I haven't been told that.

Sunshinelollypops8 · 08/11/2021 21:43

@floofycroissant I got told on the phone today that my partner wasn't allowed to attend. It's been like this in wales since the start of covid.
It's shit because you can go down the pub with your mates but can't have your partner there when you might be having a miscarriage x

Finalbaby · 08/11/2021 21:48

No this would be my 3rd, I had no complications at all with my girls so it's typical that this time round there would be! I am allowed to take someone but my partners on nights and he wouldn't be able to get more sleep or take time off so I'm taking my mum. She's allowed in for the scan but has to wait in the corridor for everything else. I'm in the north east of England. My appointment is 12 so going to try and keep busy in the morning. I e pretty much resigned myself to the fact that it's probably over. X

@Finalbaby how did you go with the scan? Hoping it all went smoothly for you x

Finalbaby · 09/11/2021 07:03

It's not for a few hours yet, I will update once I've been x

Trinacham · 09/11/2021 07:05

I had this during the first trimester with my first. If I had to strain a bit my cervix bled. Also had 2 bleeds, one when I was asleep. Baby was fine and now in the third trimester.

Finalbaby · 09/11/2021 07:38

It's heavier than a period now and the back ache is crippling so it definitely presents as a possible miscarriage unfortunately x

Finalbaby · 09/11/2021 10:53

How did your appointment go @Sunshinelollypops8 hope you're ok x

Oh I'm sorry to hear bleeding has worsened :( did the drs say anything helpful during the app? Has the bleeding settled now? Warm hug to you x
@Sunshinelollypops8 thinking of you as well hope it goes ok 🤞

laurenGame · 09/11/2021 12:02

Gah sorry @Finalbaby your app is soon - I'm not in the uk and keep mixing up time differences Blush it actually is right now - I have everything crossed for you and really really hope it goes okay

Finalbaby · 09/11/2021 12:52

I did wonder if you weren't in England lol well I've been nothing could be seen on the scan so they did an internal scan too and still nothing but they said it could be too early. I've had bloods taken and have to go back in 48 hrs for more if it's still positive. So as they haven't confirmed miscarriage they've said it's a pregnancy in an unknown location. I'm not sure how they couldn't confirm miscarriage as I thought they'd be able to see that the lining ect has come away 🤷🏽‍♀️ so no answers for now but they appear to be doing everything they can to help which I'm very grateful for

I had very similar and I was 5 weeks 5 days. It was too early for heartbeat and when I repeated bloods after 48 hours the pregnancy hormone hcg stayed the same and didn't grow Hmm so that was inconclusive as well!
Hopefully your blood results are good , I know it's frustrating but hang in there x
