I like all the names (especially Alice )

SnowMuchToBits · 13/12/2007 21:25

Great minds think alike, Idris

DD1 has 2 middle names - both have family ties. Not pretentious at all IMO. I love Eve - so pretty.

Izzybel · 13/12/2007 21:30

They are pretty names but I agree with jinglebelgo that Eve Rose Alice sounds nicer. I think the name Evie sounds nice together with Rose. My DP and both his sisters have two middle names and he wanted two for my dd, but we decided on only one. I don't have a middle name

PSCMUM · 13/12/2007 21:31

Eve Alice Rose is gorgeous.

All my kids have 2 middle names and a double barreled surname! They each have a middle name from 2 granparents and a surname from 2 parents. I know its a bit pretentios but I couldn't think what else to do that was fair to everyone who wanted to get involved!

mummyvontummy · 13/12/2007 21:31

Three names is lovely-the ones you have picked are fab! My dd has two-hers are Frances Rose, so good choice!

Jojay · 13/12/2007 21:34

I have 2 middle names aand always found it a PITA TBH

Lovely names though

FairyMum · 13/12/2007 21:38

Lovely names and not pretencious. It is very British to think that names are pretensious I think. I am always told that my childrens names are pretencious, but they are just names I like.

Mumblesmummy · 18/12/2007 12:31

Totally love Eve Alice Rose and I don't think it's pretencious either, where as sometimes really long names can get a bit silly, but that one is just lovely.

My favourites are Eve and Rose but I agree with Izzybel that Evie Rose is a gorgeous name.

edam · 18/12/2007 12:33

Gorgeous names. Not pretentious at all. HOpe so, anyway, ds has two middles, after both his grandads.

booge · 18/12/2007 12:35

I have two middle names and now wish I'd given the children two too.

scorpio1 · 18/12/2007 12:35

i want to give as yet unborn dd 2 middle names. still undecided on names for her though!

Snowmond · 18/12/2007 12:40

I like it but my DD is Eva Rose If you like both of the middle names then why not have two?

skidoodle · 18/12/2007 12:40

Not poncy to have 2 middle names.

Middle names are really just there for remembering and honouring family or friends, so it's really up to you how many you have.

I would draw the line at calling a child after a whole football team, but even that really doesn't matter as pretty much everybody ends up being called Name Surname and middle names/initials are basically irrelevant unless you choose to make them prominent.

BTW, Eve is lovely.

Those are lovely simple names. Just go with your instinct.

Dd had 2 middle names, one my mothers name which I always wanted as a middle name and is a lovely classic name. Then we felt bad for DH's mother so stuck her name in as well. Her name is abit unusual.

TBH I regret it now. Really dont think DH's mother would have given two hoots about only my mums name being used. Now dd has a really long unwieldy name and I have found myself dropping the second middle name when doing forms etc. However dh uses it religiously so it all gets abit confusing. So if you want 2 middle names go for it but be sure you can really be bothered if in doubt leave it out!

lojomamma · 18/12/2007 12:51

DD has one middle name, I thought it might be wanky to give her the other, but, I always regretted not giving her another. When ds was born it was very very touch and go, so I thought sod it and gave him two names.

LoveAngelGabriel · 18/12/2007 13:22

My son has a mouthful of a name - THREE middle names, poor little sod (pleasing family etc!). Don't regret it, though. He has a name full of meaning and tradition and family heritage. But I digress. Eve Alice Rose is a beautiful, classic name. Love it.
