Taste in mouth!

Any ladies on here, before you got your BFP did you experience a weird taste in your mouth?

The only way I can describe it is as though I've a load of pennies in my mouth! Its like a rust/metallicy taste 😣 it's really grim, I'm on day 3 of experiencing it and today seems to be worse like before it was intermittent and now I can taste it more frequently today, eurg! This is not something I have ever had before.

Not personally but a friend of mine always knew she was pregnant before the BFP because she would get a metallic taste in her mouth

Yup I had it I the first trimester. Horrid. Ice lollies were the only think which took the taste away. Or really sour sweets.

It came back intermittently in the 2nd trimester and annoyingly it seems to be reappearing now I am 33weeks!

Yes! It's horrendous. I'm almost 13 weeks and it's only just started to get better but not completely gone. For me it was a horrible bitter taste in my mouth after eating. I've tried everything, mints, sweets etc but they make it worse. The only thing that helped me was brushing my teeth after I ate.

@robyna & @Exmoorkatie86 did you both experience this before you tested positive? I haven't tested yet. Period is due 10th Nov!

No I noticed it after but pretty soon after and I knew from about 5 weeks

Yes! And I still have it at 25 weeks pregnant unfortunately, although not as strong

@allthingssparkly I tested positive very early at around a week before AF so I can't really remember how early I had it. I know I definitely had it at around 4-5 weeks so just after my missed period.

I had this, it was awful! Agree with the ice lollies! Good luck OP.

I often had a metallic taste in my mouth during the first trimester! You’ve just reminded me- had completely forgotten about it.

I quite liked it so must be a complete weirdo

@Weredone it's driving me mad with the symptom because I'm in the unknown at the moment having not tested yet 😬 trying to remain hopeful 🤞

I’m nearly at the end of my two week wait too (although I’m quite sure I haven’t been lucky this time). I’m desperately trying to remember if I had it before or after I tested last time and I’m quite sure it was after. Good luck! 🤞🏻

I could've written this post. I also have the metal taste intermittently and my period is due on the 10thI had it in my first pregnancy too, it's grim. Fingers crossed for us both!

My period is due on the 9th 😬 I’ve not had any metallic taste this time though! Or any symptoms at all yet but 🤞🏻 for all of us!

I had this and it was horrendous! It was like I had a mouthful of iron filings.

Same! Can't remember what it is like not to have a weird taste. I drink sooo much fizzy trying to get rid of it.

I've had this with all of my pregnancies, this one was the worst! It tasted like bad breath? I don't know but it was horrible🤣.nothing really got rid of it but dark drinks like coke/pepsi definitely made it worse. Lemonade and pineapple helped, mints or lollies

I had this from before my bfp to the entirety of the first and second trimester. Couldnt go anywhere without a pocket full of foxes glacier mints
