6 weeks pregnant yolk sac but no fetal pole

Hi,

Looking for a miracle

History:
No children, 3 misscarraiges
1- threated abortion after seeing heartbeat
2- missed misscarraige, sac kept growing but nothing in it
3- early chemical loss

Did a clear blue monday night - 2-3 weeks
Private scan yesterday dates me at 5+1… last period was 15th September (30 day cycle)
No bleeding, not really having an symptons
Ovulated out my left side, previous have been the right side
Gest sac is 5.9mm

Worrying this will be another misscarraige
Got told to do a test in a couple of weeks before going for another scan, give the baby chance to grow… but something feels off

Got my scan tomorrow too and needless to say I'm not looking forward to it. The nurse was so adamant of what they should see by 6+5 but wouldn't actually say the words to me. I told her I just want a straight answer but she couldn't give me one.
I Keep hoping I'm one of the exceptions but it's just wishful thinking I know I need prepare myself for the worst

@Bridgey8 what happened at your last scan? What was you measuring ? I've had two scans now one at 5+5 and another exactly a week later and measured 6+5 but no fetal pole only both the sacs there

@whataglouriousthingtobe had a scan 10 days ago as they were worried the sharp pains I was having in my shoulder were potentially ectopic but had no other symptoms. By My period I was 7 + 5 but my cycle is loooong and I was tracking ovulation so think I was more likely 6+3. Saw an empty sac and they were just convinced I was too early and all will be fine tomo but I can't see it. My HCG and progesterone were high and my sac 14mm... so they should have seen something!!! I do have a tilted uterus so possibility of hiding... but just can't see it at all xx

@Bridgey8 everything I've read online where the baby is hiding and found late is usually because of a tilted uterus so don't lose hope ! Was there a yolk sac? I had both sacs but no fetal pole so doesn't look great for me, it's unfair but trying to tell myself it's natures way, not that it helps me feel less sad xx

They didn't mention a yolk so presume not which is even more worrying! I'm just looking forward to being out of limbo tomorrow... the wait it the worst!

It’s a while since I had DS17 but early abdominal scan didn’t show pole but the sonographer knew me she did an internal scan which showed strong pulse and pole. That was at 6+ weeks.
Internal scans are much better for detail before 8 weeks.

Stay positive. I'm currently pregnant now. Last period was on 9th September 2021. Prior to this, I had an ectopic pregnancy in February 2021.

Think what's important is the progress from each scan. I was scanned at 5wks 5 days and only a gestational sac was seen. A few days later a yolk sac appeared.

A week after that, fetal pole was detected but no heartbeat. Based on my LMP I would have been 7 weeks. I've been told the measurements of CRL are too small 1.4cm to detect a heartbeat. I am hoping for better news next week, but hope what I've broken down helps with knowing that things happen in stages and it's more to do with progression , but equally size too. From what you've said about the size of your sac, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Do u think its a good sign ive seen a yolk sac and clearblue says 3+ and i hav no bleeding? I cant help but think next sunday the baby hasnt started to grow

100% a good sign. All that's needed is to see the fetal pole.

Stay positive! at 6 weeks 3 days I had an empty sac, no fetal pole or nothing, told it was a missed miscarriage, by 8 weeks 3 days could see a little wiggly baby and now 33 weeks so please don’t think it’s all doom and gloom. I posted something similar when going through that and I just wanted positivity. I hope everything turns out okay for you Flowers

I went into labour on my due date so the hospitals dates were right. I think sometimes we ovulate alot later than we think. I was so sure my dates were right so something must be wrong but i was just too early to see

So Fri I had a scan sac and yolk but no baby went today and baby is showing now but no fetal Pole yet I've to next week but yolk sack measuring a lot bigger I should be 8 weeks today but hospital measuring me 5 1/2 weeks 😕dont know what to think

@JenniferR2021im Do you mean fetal pole is there but no heartbeat detected yet? I'm a similiar situation. I went for my rescan yesterday and they can see 'something' they think could possibly be a fetal pole but it's squished between the yolk sac and uterine wall so couldn't check it for any cardiac activity 🤷🏼‍♀️ the gestational sac has doubled in size and is now 20mm. I should be 7+4 according to ivf dates but the hospital have me at 6+7 so that's five days behind.
I have to go back next Monday for a final scan to confirm. That will be my 4th scan!

I'm no sure now she just said she can see the baby but it's tiny I've to go back in a week said the yolk sac is big compared to the baby crl is 1.8mm whatever that means

@JenniferR2021 well if you're measuring 5 1/2 weeks it can still be way too early for a heartbeat. Are you sure of your dates ?

Yeah measuring from my last period I'm 8weeks today but on fri private scan said 6.1/2 weeks today 5 1/2 fri no baby seen today there is start if something on the big yolk my nerves are shattered

@JenniferR2021 really similiar to me! On my scan on Thursday there was only both the sacs and yesterday this 'mass' had appeared. It's a roller coaster isn't it. Was this nhs or private ?

First one on Friday was private and today was at the hospital she gave me a pic it looks like a snail 😕

Hi op, the dates could be right as you can fall pregnant up to a week after sex. I had sex once so knew the exact date and scan put me 5 days after.
It is also very very early to see anything, the fact hcg is increasing is a brilliant sign. It’s also very early for symptoms so try not to worry too much Flowers
