How much are ultrasound pictures from the NHS?

Differ in every hospital, mine were £5 each a couple of years ago.

PesosBandage · 12/10/2021 16:03

I think ours were about £6.50, or 3 for £15 or something like that.

But my pandemic baby ones were free, as they didn't want people touching the machines or handing cash over, so you may get lucky and get free ones :)

sociallydistained · 12/10/2021 16:04

All of mine have been free. I’m 25 weeks

RavenclawsRoar · 12/10/2021 16:04

£4 each BUT we quickly realised there's no point paying for more than one as no matter how much you pay, the sonographer at my hospital always (very kindly) prints off between 4-6 photos.

Pac35 · 12/10/2021 16:05

My trust doesn't offer any photos, even to pay for. You can only take photos from the screen 🤷‍♀️

Tee20x · 12/10/2021 16:05

Mine were free too. Pandemic baby - maybe to compensate as partners weren't allowed in?

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 12/10/2021 16:06

mine dont even offer a paying service- you get to take a pic of a screen on your phone.

babyboybluex · 12/10/2021 16:08

Didn't have to pay and this was in June 2020 - Scotland based.

Bells3032 · 12/10/2021 16:14

Mine have been free (I am 24 weeks now). There are machines outside to charge you so obviously they used to but don't seem to anymiore

firstimemamma · 12/10/2021 16:17

I'm nearly half way through my second pregnancy and all the photos have been free.

Curlymam88 · 12/10/2021 16:18

I've had lots free here in South wales.

MumOfTwoChildren · 12/10/2021 16:31

Usually £10 for 3 at my local hospital but have been free during the pandemic

BabyMoonPie · 12/10/2021 16:35

I'm currently pregnant and in NW England. Photos are £5 each - the cost is on the scan letter

Lorw · 12/10/2021 16:52

SE here and I pay £5 per picture 😁 in all honesty with NHS ones you never really get good ones so paid for private for a decent picture where we got loads and a video 😁

Derbee · 12/10/2021 17:23

We were told 3 for £10, but the sonographer printed us off about 6 or 7, and didn’t charge us

sociallydistained · 12/10/2021 17:29

I had to go for a follow up scan after my 20 week scan (a worrying time!) and even though I’d got all my pics at 20 week this sonographer to printed me another as she thought it was a good pic so have a random one from 21 weeks too.

I am going back to the same sonographer at 27 weeks for a reassurance scan and I wonder if she’ll Print me another free one 🙈

Flutterby8 · 12/10/2021 17:38

£6 each or 4 pics for £20 😳

AllSinging · 12/10/2021 17:52

Mine have all been free due to covid. I’ve had 3 scans and have about 17 pictures 😂

sexesam · 12/10/2021 17:57

South Devon, £5 each I believe. But our sonographer gave us 2.

TillyDevon · 12/10/2021 18:11

I was given 8 today for my 12 week scan and not been asked to pay for earlier pregnancy either. I would understand having to pay as did think it was lovely to keep a record. The sonographer was lovely

MsSquiz · 12/10/2021 18:27

I think ours were £5 per photo, but we were given 2 extra on top of the 4 we paid for. I guess it just depends on the sonographer

Nat4392 · 12/10/2021 18:34

My 12 week scan the first picture was free, all subsequent ones £4. By 20 weeks they were all £4. Think it was to do with having no mounts first time round.

mumofmunchkin · 12/10/2021 18:40

Pre pandemic they were £5 for 1 or £10 for 3 here. I had a scan a month ago though and they gave them for free, I suspect not wanting to be handling money/buttons on a machine etc.

SylvanasWindrunner · 12/10/2021 18:49

Ours were free but there was a donation box.

Thefaceofboe · 12/10/2021 19:13

Mine were £4, maximum 5 photos but the sonographer printed us about 10 off as baby as being really active and we got some good angles.
