Hello,

I just found out I’m pregnant again (very early days, 4w today). I had a mmc back in April which was diagnosed at almost 12 weeks but baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks and then I fell pregnant again but had a natural mc at 5+5.
This time I am taking progesterone pessaries and aspirin. Anyone else pregnant after a loss? I’m so scared about mmc but trying to relax as much as possible.

@PeeAche 100% speak to your GP definitely not a waste of NHS time. Mental health services do have waits to access them but I’m fairly sure support can be accessed via charities too for anybody who’s had a previous loss xx

Loulou237 · 15/10/2021 13:30

@Oti21 fantastic news, congratulations. You must be so relieved. Hope you can relax a little now xx

Rachae · 15/10/2021 13:45

@Oti21 amazing news! 😊 Thanks for the symptoms info too. Do you think you'll look ahead to the 12 month scan now then, instead of scanning more? Xx

GinnyBee · 15/10/2021 14:15

Yay @Oti21 that's awesome news!

positiveovernegative · 15/10/2021 16:07

Hey all, just wanted to say hi as been lurking in the back reading all your messages! Absolutely loving this thread it has given me so much hope ❤️

Oti21 · 15/10/2021 16:40

Thank you 😊 @Loulou237 @GinnyBee @Rachae

I’m going to hold out as long as possible but still very tempted by another scan before 12 weeks just because of the timing of my miscarriage. Saying that
last time things weren’t right when I was scanned for the first time at 7 weeks and we only saw a slow heart beat once at 7.5 weeks so overall much more positive this time. I’ve actually managed to focus and get things done this afternoon which has been really hard/sometimes impossible the last few weeks!

👋🏻 @positiveovernegative lovely to hear it’s given you hope x

PeeAche · 16/10/2021 15:54

My symptoms have died down a lot today and my pregnancy test line doesn't seem to be getting any darker now. No cramping. Some very mild nausea. No breast tenderness whatsoever. Feeling very very anxious all day. I have a feeling that something isn't right. Too early to be scanned. Just have to wait.... Sad

Rachae · 16/10/2021 15:58

Hey @PeeAche I think I remember that you're still in the 4 week stint, is that right? X

Loulou237 · 17/10/2021 12:58

Hi ladies how is everyone feeling? I’m currently 5+2 and my symptoms seem to have levelled off. I still have them but they don’t seem quite as strong as a week ago and it’s making me worry 😬 they do come and go don’t they?!

PeeAche · 17/10/2021 13:53

@Rachae

Hey *@PeeAche* I think I remember that you're still in the 4 week stint, is that right? X
4+6 today. Miscarriages at 6 and 7+2 previously.

My cycle has always been semi-irregular. Not so bad that I don't get monthly periods but difficult enough to predict ovulation etc. I actually have a hunch, based on morning sickness, that I might be almost a week further along than dates suggest.

Have decided that if we make it to 6 weeks this time, I am booking an early scan for 7 or 8 weeks.

Line not getting any darker but some symptoms have resumed today. DH has now literally confiscated all of my pregnancy tests and sent me to lie down.

Anxiety peaked yesterday, I think. Was an absolute wreck but today I've worn myself out and don't feel like crying anymore.

Overall, my symptoms with this pregnancy are much stronger than my last 2.

Going to call the GP tomorrow and ask for a referral for my mental health. Think miscarriages have sent me insane.

Rachae · 17/10/2021 13:54

Hey @Loulou237 I've definitely found this. My boobs have gotten smaller and I worried about that.. But tmi sorry but my nipples now look totally different! So I've stopped symptom spotting those. My gums bled last week and they don't now.. But I'm loads more 'hungover' feeling now instead. I think they swap and change? (I'm 6 weeks today) xx

Rachae · 17/10/2021 13:56

@PeeAche yea it's totally still early days for symptoms. I read that only 50% of women get morning sickness by week 5 anyways. It sounds like you are getting symptoms.. Also that the anxiety is making you ill. I totally understand and I'm sorry that's happening 😞 I've never made it past 6.5 so it's my 5 day countdown.. I think I might be nervous this week at work xx

I'm thinking of you this week @Rachae and keeping everything crossed that this is your sticky!xxx Thanks

Loulou237 · 17/10/2021 14:09

Thanks @Rachae it does help to know there are others in the same boat! Such an anxious time I just want to fast forward the next two months. Hope your week isn’t too nervous and you carry on getting odd symptoms, my nipples have like tripled in size Grin xx

Loulou237 · 17/10/2021 14:17

@PeeAche hope you’re ok. I’m on sertraline for anxiety and it’s such a lifesaver. I hope the gp can help and you have an easier next few weeks xxx

Rachae · 17/10/2021 14:29

Thanks @PeeAche and @Loulou237 xxx these threads help so much xx

Loulou237 · 17/10/2021 18:20

Hi ladies sorry me again - has anyone had the jab while pregnant? I think I’m too worried about it, I’ve had my first but might wait for the second xx

Oti21 · 17/10/2021 20:43

@Loulou237 my symptoms have been coming and going. Nausea is in full force atm 😭🤢 but almost none existent on Friday! I’m 6 weeks 4 days.

I have already had both jabs but due my booster (nhs), I’m having my flu jab on Thursday but haven’t booked in for the booster yet. I’m thinking after 12 weeks…

Loulou237 · 17/10/2021 20:57

@Oti21 thanks yes I need to keep reminding myself that the symptoms can come and go and especially as I’m not even 6 weeks yet!
That’s a good idea to wait til after 12 weeks for your booster. I hope you don’t feel too bad for the next few weeks, but also hope you continue to have the strong symptoms if that makes sense Grin xx

Oti21 · 17/10/2021 21:15

@Loulou237 I panic when they’re gone so I have to keep reminding myself too! I feel so awful this evening and I’ve taken anti sickness tablets, I’m not sure I can go to work like this! Supposed to have a team building day tomorrow and we have to wear masks at all times 😭😂

Loulou237 · 17/10/2021 21:44

@Oti21 oh wow that sounds horrendous. Hopefully after a good nights sleep you might feel a bit better. If not then definitely have a duvet day. I’ve found the exhaustion is on another level I feel so hungover at all times 😩 xxx

russianred · 17/10/2021 21:53

Goodness, the relief of finding your people and not feeling quite so alone! Congratulations to all with a recent positive. It’s terrifying and exciting all at once, right?
I have had three MC’s in the last year. At 5, 9 and 17 weeks. The last one was the most traumatic and treated by the hospital as a stillbirth in all but name.
I had a positive test 6 days ago and think I am about 4+5. Am taking progesterone twice a day, aspirin and mega dose folic acid. Think others have mentioned the wind and constipation issues of the progesterone - i’m out of control... Also very, very thirsty! I have a scan booked for 8 weeks with the recurrent miscarriage team and scans every 2 weeks up to 20, though I know they only provide who it a second of reassurance, I am reassured that there is a plan in place, at least.

PeeAche · 17/10/2021 22:19

Hi @russianred congrats on your positive! We are almost neck and neck. I'm 4+6.

I'm deeply sorry for your losses. Especially your most recent one. Thanks We are all here to support each other. This thread is the kindest and warmest one I have ever found on Mumsnet and I feel so grateful.

I'm not on progesterone but I'm also suffering from constipation. It's been 48 hours since I last "did a jobbie" as my step son would say! Blush

PS.
Your username reminds me of Orange Is The New Black.

black2black · 17/10/2021 22:22

Oh gosh @russianred what an awful time you’ve had. I had 2 MCs and then was prescribed the same as you, high dose folic acid, progesterone and low dose aspirin and it worked for me. I got to term and got my baby boy. I went crazy with the anxiety and booked a private scan for nearly every week from 6 weeks up to 14

russianred · 18/10/2021 05:52

@PeeAche that really made me laugh - my stepdad says the same! I am sometimes on a time limit (teacher with limited breaks!) which always, um, puts the pressure on Blush. Not as exciting as OITNB - my fave lipstick. Thank you for the welcome and congratulations to you too! I’m shocked that there is such a crowd, but then not that shocked either.

@black2black, what a lovely story, congratulations! My anxiety was terrible in my last pregnancy, to the point that when I had my scan at 17 weeks, my first thought was ‘I told you so’ when they delivered the news. Trying hard to not be too anxious, I’ve been having acupuncture which helps and am on the waiting list to see a counsellor. Hope after the worst kind of disappointment is a strange thing.
When are people telling others? Not sure I can cope with having to tell/untell another time. But then you also need a bit of a handhold. At the moment it is just my partner and I.
