For anyone here that is worrying about cramps and twinges, this is a level of detail that nobody told me the first time:
Cramps and twinges truly are normal. Both of my miscarriages began with a very small streak of blood, containing a very small stringy clot. I didn't have any pain at first. About an hour later, I started having ordinary period pains. Not twinges or light cramps from in the middle area, but full blown unmistakable period pains. Within a matter of hours, I was bleeding heavily and the "period pains" were strong.
I'll spare you the rest of the detail, because this thread is supposed to be a positive place.
It was a day or so into the bleeding and pains that my pregnancy symptoms stopped abruptly. Not a gentle decline. An abrupt and complete stop.
Not everyone's experience will be the same, but I understand from speaking to others and from conversations with community midwives that mine was fairly standard. And unmistakable.
Believe me, ladies, nobody could be more anxious than me about miscarriage now. I wish I could take my own advice. But please all try to relax.
Try to remember this:
Statistically speaking, unless you have had 3 miscarriages or more, it is more likely that your pregnancy will go to full term than not.
