Lines not Progressing 😔

Hello all,

I got positive OPKs on the 19th and 20th of August. I tested positive on the 31st, but my lines seem to have stopped going darker 😔

I attach pictures, thoughts? 💕

This was today and I would have thought I’d be super positive. I took it this evening.

They are all within a day, don’t worry about this until it’s been a week I’d say !

Could you get some clear blue digital with the week indicator? Not 100% reliable but may give you a better idea.

The line darkness isn't only limited by hcg, but by the amount of dye in the test, try digital tests if you think they would help. They all look super positive, congratulations.

I still think it’s very very early

@RadioPenguin I have done a clear blue on Saturday that said 1-2 weeks.

I’m a bit of a serial tester unfortunately due to early pregnancy anxiety :(

Why does this matter? I'm not trying to be unkind, I just don't understand. I did 2 tests both times to be sure but that was that. You're clearly pregnant. Surely it could be that you're urine is more dilute for one of the tests etc

@Kakser hey, no that’s ok. I’m glad you felt 2 tests were enough. I really wish I could feel the same. I’ve suffered with 4 chemical pregnancies and one blighted ovum (Missed MC) most of which were characterised with faint tests.

I’ve had one successful pregnancy my beautiful little girl and early pregnancy scares the absolute crap out of me. I apologise is my post offends

Completely understand how you feel OP having suffered similar myself, sorry for your loses. I'd try and give it two days between tests if you can. It takes a while for the HCG levels to rise.

I wish I could just look at one test see a line and be like “yay I’m pregnant” full stop. Unfortunately, I just can’t until it’s a big bold one like I had with my daughter 😔

It's hard not to be anxious so early on. Would it help to do a blood test and see the exact hcg number? It should double within a day so two tests should definitely put your mind at ease. Not cheap though but may be worth it? The lines look very good though!

I really hope this pregnancy carries to term OP.

Totally understand the obsession, but they are all very close together in time atm so try not to panic. Fingers crossed for you!

Given your history could you have a hcg blood test at GP and have it repeated 48hrs later to ensure it's doubling?

Hi @AnxietyAnnie95 I have had a hit of a similar situation. I had a blighted ovum jan 2019 and a chemical last September. I have a little girl
Who is 5. Who got me thought both of these. I found out I am pregnant again 7th august. My lines also started off faint but got progressively darker over the weeks I had an early scan and fingers crossed we seen a heartbeat there I was 7 weeks at my scan. I would just give it time. I found with my chemical the tests would show positive and then if I looked at them a few hours later they would be negative. Also they turned negative after 3 days. I am hopeful for you with this pregnancy I really am. Good luck

I also don't think there feint at all. Compared to what I had with the unsuccessful pregnancies. I know how very hard it is tho. I am also a serial tester and even tested up until last week I am
Now 8 weeks all being well.

@lori2019 @Vitallyli thank you for the suggestion of blood test. I had one Sunday and they said it’s good to suggest an early pregnancy. They’ll do another next week should everything go well.

@Kateb47 sorry for your loss. Thank you for the reassurance. I’m going to try and keep away from the tests for a little while. They’re not faint faint, but they’re not super bold. With my daughter, the positive line came up before the control line. I was only a few weeks too x

Congratulations op and I mean this kindly, those tests are positive as fuck. You don't need a blood test or a dr appointment or more tests. Them tests are dark and obvious and relate to how much dye is in the test not how pregnant you are or how viable the pregnancy is.

Just to update this thread, the line is getting there!

Symptoms are coming in thick and fast. Gas, bloatedness, teary, sore boobs, tiredness and heightened sense of smell.

I’ll keep updating this so it’s not a dead end for future watcher 🥰

I tested so much because of previous MC, but they never got darker and it caused so much stress, it even put a strain on my relationship because of how obsessive I got...

Im now 37w

Also if you are anything like I was get ready to spend £600+ on scans over the 9 months 🤦🏼‍♀️

@alltheeights were your tests with this pregnancy similar to mine? It’s driving me crazy. More so because with my daughter it came up instantly a bold positive, the test line showed before the control line!
