39 weeks here, how are you all staying sane during this time?
I feel so restless and impatient. Can't stop googling Labour symptoms and keep reading the same stuff over and over again.

Starting this one so I can read some new stories.

Aaaaaahhhh!!! Grin

Good luck to those getting induced! I seem to have developed pgp all of a sudden and am really going to struggle with getting anything done now, really feel for ladies who have had this all the way through, it’s horrible.

Mseddy · 24/08/2021 14:10

I had my second sweep yesterday. I was favourable but she still couldn't get her finger fully in. I did end up with some really bad cramps last night though and got excited! All stopped today though. Hoping its the start of something and if nothing else it'll make my sweep on Friday more successful!

c307 · 24/08/2021 14:31

@Mseddy I've had my second sweep today too but no change or progress from last one which was 5 days ago now 😒 feeling deflated

Amz6219 · 24/08/2021 14:32

Only 32 weeks and already fed up!

Glad my first came at 38 weeks, don't know how I managed to stay patient first time!

Mseddy · 24/08/2021 15:28

@c307 it's really frustrating isn't it! Im trying to be positive and saying this second one was more sucseful than the first. But it was 2 different midwives, so in reality it's subjective how soft they thought my cervix was! Hopefully we will have more success with the next one!

c307 · 24/08/2021 16:45

@Mseddy I don't feel like mine was as successful today, it was a lot quicker and just seemed more brief 😕 but yeah same, was a different midwife so who knows. No pains or even show this time so just feels standard?

Moominmiss · 24/08/2021 16:51

I’m not as close to the end as most of you, but I’m 36+1 and booked in for a c section next week at 37+4 so only just over a week to go.

I am so over being pregnant. This is baby number 4 for me, and I’m opting to be sterilised during the surgery as I never ever ever want to be pregnant again 🤣

ame88 · 24/08/2021 19:31

My trust dong recommend sweeps and won't induce till 41+4....I could be in the for long haul!

KHR1 · 24/08/2021 20:42

@ame88 they usually induce at 41+3 here unless there are risk factors, those extra 10 days don't half drag though. As baby is measuring big and my blood pressure isn't great the consultant has suggested getting one earlier than that this time. Didn't realise some trusts didn't do sweeps!

ame88 · 24/08/2021 22:24

@KHR1 yeah it's mad! They don't recommend (they said research suggests they don't work and leave you at risk of infection) but you could still request I guess! I'll wait it out I think! I have my next midwife on due date so will ask about the different induction methods, like could you maybe have the induction gel soon but they won't offer drip until 41+4...I'm not sure here!

Sceptre86 · 24/08/2021 23:20

I am 39 weeks tomorrow, 3rd baby and am trying for a vbac2 but a section date has been booked for me at 41+2 so I have until then for this baby to make an appearance. My cervix is soft but the midwife still only manged to get up to her knuckle when she was trying to do a sweep. Odds aren't great for me but I'm bouncing on my birthing ball and trying to remain positive. I have another sweep on Thursday and then two booked in next week.

cottoncandyflossy · 26/08/2021 11:00

Hey how is everyone getting on???

Absolutely nothing happening over here Grin time for another cup of tea I guess...

Morning @cottoncandyflossy I think my waters have been leaking this morning, so I’ve got to go in to hospital to be monitored and booked for induction if nothing happens, as no contractions yet. I’m 39+6 Just trying to think how to help the process move along. This is dc3 and my kids are very disappointed that our plans for this afternoon are now cancelled Confused

Anyone else got any news?

c307 · 26/08/2021 11:28

@MissBPotter I was in triage last night with the same suspicions, lots of damp that was a lot thinner and more watery than usual discharge. They used speculum to look but came to the conclusion that they think it is just really wet discharge 🤷🏻‍♀️ I hope they are right.

Hope yours goes okay Thanks

ame88 · 26/08/2021 11:34

No signs from me (39+5) in fact she has been moving so so much today!
I'm pretty tired and got the first time in forever have come back to bed!

MissBPotter · 26/08/2021 11:40

@c307 oh wow that’s interesting, I kind of hope this is waters. Certainly feels very much like leaking (not pee lol) rather than discharge. Who knows! Hope you’re ok today.

@ame88 I’m sure you 100% deserve a rest at this stage, enjoy it!

Magicalunicornsandthings · 26/08/2021 16:04

I’m 37 weeks so maybe I’ll come back in 3 weeks and be totally different but I’ve been doing a hypnobirthing course which is absolutely wonderful. My baby will come when my baby is ready. I hated this bit with my other two, baby can come at any time in the next 5 weeks so be ready just incase it happens tonight 😂 is it some kind of joke!? 😂 But this time I know I’m not quite ready yet and baby won’t come just yet.
Keep the oxytocin flowing, relax and trust your baby to come when he or she is ready.

I went into labour with My second child after watching The Darkest Hour snuggled up with husband, candles on and having a glass of wine. I was absolutely blissfully chilled out having decided baby was going to stay put for a while and that was fine. In hindsight I had created a huge oxytocin bubble and released all pressure and stress of baby arriving. Xx

SS123456 · 26/08/2021 17:54

My baby girl was born yesterday at 39+6 😁❤️

Congratulations!!
KHR1 · 26/08/2021 20:19

Congratulations @SS123456

39+1 and no signs of anything yet. Keep getting random pains thinking it's the start of something then it stops and that's it for hours.

c307 · 26/08/2021 21:49

@MissBPotter my waters have well and truly gone today so just waiting for things to kick off now, if not I'm in tomorrow for induction 😣

MissBPotter · 26/08/2021 22:00

@SS123456 aww congratulations!

@c307 same here! Fingers crossed that we both get some contractions overnight Smile

c307 · 27/08/2021 06:57

@MissBPotter how are you getting on? I've got regular tightenings but baby's movements weren't great so came to triage to be checked, they want me to stay in and start the drip 😦 so nervous!

cottoncandyflossy · 27/08/2021 16:16

@SS123456 amazing! Congratulations

@c307 @MissBPotter ooo how exciting! Do keep us updated. Hope everything goes well!

@Magicalunicornsandthings I think that sounds like a wonderful idea! I will try my hardest to relax and enjoy this time.

As you say, baby will eventually be here at some point in the next few weeks. I'm confident I haven't heard of any stories where a woman had remained pregnant forever even though it may feel that way Grin

No signs here!! Had my 3rd sweep this morning, she got the top of her finger in and said my cervix felt ready. But still nothing! She's been a bit quiet today and I fell over in the shower this morning so I'm on the fence about going in for some monitoring if she doesn't pick up soon
