Hi all.
I'm 34 weeks pregnant today and for the past 7 or 8 hours I have had quite strong backache high and low it has been coming and going, however I do suffer with extreme back pain anyway. Also I have been having severe pressure down below and lots of lightening pains as well as getting mild cramps in my tummy every so often and then they travel around to my back. This is my second baby so I don't think they are contractions even though my first labour was very quick so I barely remember w thing, baby is moving away as normal also but the cramps can start at being mild to strong then go away go a while but my back is aching so bad with pressure and tightening pains.

Get to labour ward. You need assessing. You may well be in preterm labour.

bluebell34567 · 21/08/2021 01:06

agree.

DramaAlpaca · 21/08/2021 01:07

Get yourself checked out.

MistyFrequencies · 21/08/2021 01:09

That sounds like labour. I had my son at 34 weeks just a few hours after I got the first twinge of backpain. Do get checked out.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 21/08/2021 01:10

Agree, get it checked. One of mine is a 34 weeker and apart from a few days in special care they've been fine.

Monkeytennis92 · 21/08/2021 01:10

As already said - get to the labour ward. Xx

Josie9998 · 21/08/2021 01:13

I am going to ring the labour ward now, the stomach pains aren't overly painful now just little cramps here and there but the back ache is consistent.

Hope you get on ok OP. Back pain was an early sign of my second labour. Baby was back to back and this was why. The back pain continued throughout my labour and was more severe than the pains around my stomach area.

MistyFrequencies · 21/08/2021 01:25

My 34 weeker was back to back. I never got stomach contractions. Just lower back. Glad you're getting checked out.

Josie9998 · 21/08/2021 01:34

I rang and they asked me several questions. I told them I wasn't really having contractions or period like cramps down below but I do have pain in my stomach but it is quite mild but the pain in my back is quite severe. They asked me about my bowel movements sorry if this is tmi but told them I went about two hours ago and it was very sore on the toilet around my back and stomach more than usual when just laying down. They basically told me not to worry and if pain progresses to ring back and that I might just need the toilet.

Mmm. That seems a little brave. Don't be afraid to call back if pain persists.

Josie9998 · 21/08/2021 02:10

The pain in my back is getting worse its just constant pain and stomach cramps are back there just isn't any regular pattern with the pain which is why I'm so confused and unsure if I really do need the toilet again or if its labour

I honestly think you should call them back and tell them that. I know you don't want to slog up to labour ward at 2am, but you really don't want to risk delivering a 34 weeker at home either.

THATmamaofMANY · 21/08/2021 02:16

You need looking at op

frenchfancy81 · 21/08/2021 02:35

Go in and get checked out, better safe than sorry. Good luck x

endofthelinefinally · 21/08/2021 02:39

I think you need to be seen asap. That sounds very like labour pains to me. If I took your call on labour ward I would get you in pronto.

ImJustMum · 21/08/2021 03:21

Another one for going in. Both of mine have been 34weekers. Ds labour started in my back and dd was very low cramps at the bottom of my bump.

bluebell34567 · 21/08/2021 09:44

how you doing op?

MyGrassIsBrowner · 21/08/2021 18:05

Hope you're getting on okay OP. X

Josie9998 · 22/08/2021 02:13

Pains around my back stayed constant all last night until about 6am when I finally fell asleep, was up again around 7.30am they had seem to if disappeared but then at 9.30am woke up with the intense back pains and mild stomach cramps again, went for a bath and they finally seem to have settled. I never had the back pain again the rest of the day and hoping it doesn't come back!

Ah im still not convinced, i reckon youre starting up!

Josie9998 · 23/08/2021 00:37

Hi all.
Everything was going ok until tonight again started getting the same pains as 2 nights ago but I'm really unsure if its pain relating to needing the toilet or contractions the pain isn't regular its just coming and going whenever it wants and when I get pain in my back its horrendous but this was the same as two nights ago and it disappeared until tonight

endofthelinefinally · 23/08/2021 01:03

You should go and get checked. Why take the risk?

THATmamaofMANY · 23/08/2021 03:00

Agree definitley get checked

octoberfarm · 23/08/2021 03:29

I had the same sort of pain with DC2 - unclear whether it was an upset stomach or something more - and it was labor. Please do get checked, there's no harm and it's so much better safe than sorry. Hope you're doing okay Thanks
