Weird things pregnancy has done to your body?

Hi,

39 weeks pregnant and more than fed up. Seeking lighthearted topic to pass some time!
I'm wondering what weird things pregnancy has done to your body? For me, the first one is that my hair on my legs stopped growing completely. (Delighted about it but still weird!) My hair and nails are growing super fast.

Anyone else got weird things happening?

My feet swelled quite a lot-one more than the other weirdly. They got wider & have never gone back. It’s like my actual bones shifted sideways 😩

I also had hideous carpal tunnel in both hands. Wouldn’t wish that on anyone

BabyRace · 18/08/2021 22:20

Hands and hips grew and haven't returned.
Awful sciatica
Hair is thinner than ever and I get car sick now.

Nothing positive for my body about pregnancy at all.

Xyzzzzz · 18/08/2021 22:26

My feet are knackered. Just a mess ☹️

Sceptre86 · 18/08/2021 22:57

My nose has grown, it happens to me every pregnancy as I swell a lot pretty much everywhere but my nose bothers me the most.

This is the first pregnancy where I have had a hairy belly, it really is something else. I hope it goes when baby arrives. In my last pregnancy with my ds I had one thick black hair on my breast, it was awful.

IWantT0BreakFree · 18/08/2021 23:08

My absolute worst pregnancy symptom is SPD. Excruciating and has started much earlier with this pregnancy than previous ones.

Other than that: hairy belly. Hairy chin. Psoriasis that started immediately after having my first baby, went away during subsequent pregnancies and then returned after birth. Diastasis recti which makes me look pregnant even when I'm not.

I'm not someone who particularly enjoys the "magic of creating new life". They are all worth it though, on a good day Grin

@MrsBellamy I’m begging to see this!

Unravelling2021 · 19/08/2021 02:58

Severe morning sickness, not quite hypermesis, needed to loose 1lb more Hmm
Electric shocks
Nipple vasospasms
Gagging when teeth brushing
Tummy line
Cholasma
Itchy itchy itchy ITCHY IIIIIIIITTTTCCCCHHHHYYYYY legs at night
Skin tags everywhere
Red spider veins all over chest
I sure that was it... Confused

HauteGirlSummer · 19/08/2021 03:09

@elliejjtiny

I had awful morning sickness and there are a few foods that used to trigger it that I still can't face eating. It's been 7 years since my last pregnancy.
Me too. HG gave me terrible food and smell aversions. I still have anxiety going into fast food restaurants like KFC, McDonalds etc. The smell of grease was/is a major trigger 🤢 Also garlic.

My previously extra long eyelashes fell out leaving me with tiny stumps. They have returned luckily!

PartyofPun · 19/08/2021 03:45

My hair was lovely! It was the only time my flat limp hair had looked good.

I got terrible hives though. The full itchy lumpy ones all up my legs and arms.

@Drippymoon
Ignore the fat and stretch marks, and know that when I got the tattoo I was v v young, and tanned with decent abs Wink

Does anyone know if all the extra hair disappears after the baby is born? I don’t want a beard anymore!

Ava50x · 19/08/2021 10:31

I assume it would if it was hormonal but there's no knowing...
You'll just have to wait and see @SheABitSpicyToday, and hope for the best!

Oh there was one more thing, stretch marks that rival the crustyest stripyest tiger bread loaf reaching well above my belly button all over and one half of my belly having an extra fat store pouch so I have an uneven tummy sag post c section Grin Eugh...

Bubbles1st · 19/08/2021 11:04

I was overweight when I got pregnant, however thanks to gestational diabetes and eating minimal sugar and carbs I've barely gained weight despite being 37 weeks pregnant. However Baby is showing high up and my bump is super firm and round until just below my belly button where the post pregnancy pouch I've heard so much about has already assembled itself, so weird I can hardly believe it 🤣

YumLemonCheesecake · 19/08/2021 11:39

My eyes changeD colour, they were dark brown before now they are green, I mentioned it to the optician and she said she had heard about it before in university but I was the first person she had ever seen it happen too!

Ava50x · 20/08/2021 09:33

@YumLemonCheesecake wow that is seriously fascinating! I've never heard of that one before!

A bum hole like a bit of chewed lemon

ElizaDoolots · 20/08/2021 21:03

Uncontrollable flatulence Blush

Also, huge piles. Yay pregnancy!

Thepathofleastresistance · 20/08/2021 21:05

It got rid of nerve pain I had... totally gone!

Thepathofleastresistance · 20/08/2021 21:06

Actually strictly speaking child birth did

Vallmo47 · 20/08/2021 21:18
  • Even bigger overhang and fatty bits
  • Boobs hanging down to my knees (this happens even without breastfeeding 🙄)
  • Privates that have expanded beautifully. Just right to give birth of two 10 pounders…. Sex afterwards? ;)
  • Stretchmarks from here to Sibiria
  • Constant farting and belching.
  • My ability to be a lady went out the frigging window once my husband had seen me squeeze out a head the size of an oversized watermelon, so I lost all my manners along with sleep, the ability to concentrate and give a damn.
  • PMS increased somehow, making me an angry motherfucker (or maybe I’m at peri)
  • The sensitive side got a whole lot more sensitive
  • Hair stopped falling out so much in pregnancy and then decided to all go at the same time afterwards

Honestly, I’m a god damn catch.

(Please read the above with the comedy level intended).
