Did you dream about what sex your baby was? And if so, were you right?

I’m 22 weeks and we’re not finding out the sex. However, I had a dream that baby was a boy and he was called George Elliot (these are names we’ve not considered for a boy so no idea where they came from). I’ve had vivid dreams, even before pregnancy, of completely mundane things that often aren’t true but they can be so vivid I have been confused about what is real and what isn’t.

Did any of you dream about the sex of your baby before they arrived? Were you right? It doesn’t particularly matter to us either way, although we’re probably closer to picking a name for a girl name than a boy but it might be my dream was telling me the name anyway…

I can’t answer your question but am curious to know what other people say!

I’m only 18 weeks and haven’t found out the sex yet. My husband and I just always talk about the baby as a boy but I’ve had a few vivid dreams, all where the baby is a girl. I have not preference but I’ve been wondering if it’s some sort of instinct.

I feel like I literally dreamed my second son. We knew he was going to be a boy but not long before he was born I dreamed him, what he'd look like and his name (one we weren't really considering) abs when he was born he looked exactly like my dream and we called him the name.

frazzledfragglefromfragglerock · 02/08/2021 21:45

I dreamt my first was a boy. She is most definitely female! Also I didn't believe my dream, I was convinced she was a girl.

mooloop · 02/08/2021 21:46

I had 2 dreams that baby was a boy, and he is! Smile

Curlymam88 · 02/08/2021 21:48

I had a dream I was buying cupcakes with lovely pink icing on them which made me think I was having a girl and I am Grin

With dd2 I had a dream that my mum, who died many years before dd2 was born, showed me that the baby would be a girl. In the dream she mixed up some baby milk and the milk went pink, a few weeks later we found out we were indeed having a girl 😊

AnneLovesGilbert · 02/08/2021 21:49

I did, I was wrong Grin

My sister did, loads, she was right.

TankGirl97 · 02/08/2021 21:50

I dreamed my baby was made of soft wax and fitted in the palm of my hand 😂. It was a boy in the dream though, so that part was correct!

lorn195 · 02/08/2021 21:51

I had this too. It was really weird as I dreamt that DS1 was a boy and he was. Not so much with DS2, but I had to have a late scan as they wanted to check he was breech (he was). I couldn't really see anything but again I guessed it was a boy.

sendinallthesheep · 02/08/2021 22:02

I had several vivid dreams about my baby being a boy and I "felt" it too, if you see what I mean? She's very much a girl!

AdventuresAwait · 02/08/2021 22:13

At the start of my pregnancy I had a dream in which I was holding a baby girl and am now 34 weeks and scans have confirmed it's a girl xx

Whitegrenache · 02/08/2021 22:14

Yes - a red headed girl called poppy

She is actually now a red headed girl called Lily!!

LouNatics · 02/08/2021 22:16

I knew what sex my babies were every time, without exception. I knew from conception. Every time I told people I was pregnant I’d also add the sex, they all said I couldn’t possibly know, but I did. I would have quite liked the excitement of not knowing.

MyGrassIsBrowner · 02/08/2021 22:17

I did! I dreamt I was having a girl, in every dream she had blonde hair, blue eyes. Me and DP both have brown hair, brown eyes. She's 16 months now, blonde haired, blue eyed! Honestly still can't believe it to this day lol.

IncludeWomenInThePrequel · 02/08/2021 22:20

Not a dream, but a vision while I was brushing my teeth!

I saw my child in a specific outfit, and I knew her name.

I have a photo of the day she wore that exact outfit and turned to face me just like in my 'vision'. She was 13 months old.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 02/08/2021 22:21

When I was about 25 weeks pregnant I had an incredibly vivid dream featuring a little girl of about 2-3 years old. She had dark curly hair and dark eyes, just like my husband. I just "knew" that she was my daughter.

10 weeks later I gave birth to a son with very straight auburn hair Grin

BlithePilgrim · 02/08/2021 22:21

Yes, I did, and no, I wasn’t right.

I also knew DD was a girl - not sure how; just did. When the sonographer confirmed it I just thought “yes, there she is”…

I do feel like I “know” sometimes what’s going to happen - though it’s got less reliable as I get older. I was convinced I’d have another girl after DD, who’s currently an only child; but I think I’m going through perimenopause now and it isn’t going to happen, which feels a bit odd - it’s like a dissonant kind of feeling.

Hunt123 · 02/08/2021 22:26

Yes I did ! And without a shadow of a doubt he is a little boy 💙

BootsScootsAndToots · 02/08/2021 22:31

I dreamt I was pushing a pink pram for dd1. I was about 10 weeks and I was convinced after that I was having a girl.

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 02/08/2021 22:36

No dreams, but I've never been a dreamer (sadly I don't have an image based imagination and don't dream in pictures, but thats another story)

I did however have a very strong feeling from the beginning I was having a boy, that feeling was correct and ds is indeed a boy.

ChaiTRex · 02/08/2021 22:47

I haven’t had any dreams about baby yet, but my friend yesterday greeted me and my husband with this:
“So not to make things weird but I had a dream that you are having a baby in FIVE months and I know it’s rude to ask newlyweds when they’re having a baby but … any chance you’re pregnant?”

I’m due in six months and told her so!

caringcarer · 02/08/2021 23:11

When I was pregnant with my daughter I had a dream I had a girl with navy blue eyes. My family laughed when I told them but we hen she was born she had the darkest blue eyes. They have lighted slightly now but when she was born they were navy blue. I had 2 other children but never had dreams of them when pregnant.

InTheNightWeWillWish · 03/08/2021 07:10

Seems like most of you were right! I have no ‘feelings’ and I’ve referred to them as both he and she in different moments when talking about the future so the dream isn’t confirming a feeling. We’ll see what pops out and if I was right or if my subconscious was just off on a little adventure as it sometimes does!

I dreamt my baby was lying on a rug on its front , kicking its heels and looking bored. It very pointedly didn't show me its sex.
