My Grandma (born 1898) had her first child at 17 and her last at 48.

It has cross my mind that the youngest may have belonged to one of the older children mind. She has two in her 40s when she was already a grandmother.

Just had my fourth at 46. My godmother had naturally-conceived triplets at 50!

Known personally, 46. My friend who is a midwife has seen a natural pregnancy at 50. The woman thought she was menopausal.

Its worth bearing in mind however, that often older pregnancies you hear about from previous generations were mother's covering up their teenage daughters accidental pregnancies by pretending the child was theirs.

Hardly ‘often’

50 my grandmas mum was 50 when she had her. It was a huge surprise as she assumed she was menopausal.

46 - my mum! The doctor told her for months that I was the menopause!

47 - my grandma.

47 my Gran too. Me, 44

I dont know the exact age but my grandma was in her 40s when she had her last, people always refered to him as a 'menopausal baby'.

A woman who lived behind me had a suprise 6th child at 43.

My DS friends parents stated they where not having anymore because they are in their 50s (general playground talk about sibling) but that means they must have had DS friend sometime after 41 years old at the very earliest.

not really... my grandma was a teen mother during the war herself, her oldest grandchildren are older than her youngest child because her eldest was well into her 20s and married when the youngest was born.

There was no need for them to 'pretend' at all, people use to regularly get married and have kids in their mid-teen.

If anything from the chatter I heard over the years it was far more of a talking point to be an 'old' mother hense why its STILL commonly mentioned that he was a 'menopause' baby but the teen pregnancy was treat as standard/normal.

48 - a friend. I conceived my last at 44.
