advice says it's fine in all trimesters - some say second is most ideal..
Interested in what weeks people have had their first doses and if any side effects?

I had my first at seven and a half weeks (thought I was a week further on than I actually was) and had no side effects at all, other than a sore arm. Having my second later in July when I’ll be 16 weeks. Pfizer.

sparklyblue81 · 08/07/2021 14:30

I was about 13 weeks but that was as soon as I was eligible. I would have had it sooner if offered.

IloveGod2 · 08/07/2021 14:30

@onanadventure hiya, wondering about this as well. My mw asked for me to wait for second trimester due to my previous mc. I'm still in two minds in regards to taking it or not. Have 2 friends that didnt and they plus baby are fine

BurningBenches · 08/07/2021 14:31

35wks, no side effects. Baby is now nearly 3wks and I had my second jab last week, again no side effects.

Quolla · 08/07/2021 14:34

I got it today! Smile 24 weeks. Can't comment on side effects just yet...

LAR96 · 08/07/2021 14:39

I had mine at 16 weeks, no side effects :)

Panda368 · 08/07/2021 14:42

I'm now double jabbed as of last Sunday. I'm 19 weeks.

First jab on 6th June at 15 weeks our trust seem to be prioritising getting pregnant women double jabbed with only a 4 week interval.

No issues with side effects other than a bit of a dead arm and being a bit tired. If i had been able to get it even earlier I would have.

Phizer jab doesn't cross the placenta so I felt the risks were minimal and having known someone who ended up in a coma after having an emergency section at 36 weeks I know the risk I would rather take.

AnonymousXXIX · 08/07/2021 14:45

7 weeks & 16 weeks, Pfizer!

JackJack84 · 08/07/2021 14:45

Had my Pzifer first dose at 14 weeks, no side effects other than a sore arm

PlantLadyMum · 08/07/2021 14:46

I got my first vaccine (Pfizer) around ovulation and am now 4weeks, will be getting my 2nd jab at 9weeks

NatMoz · 08/07/2021 14:47

13 weeks Moderna. Felt like I had a hangover the next day but that was about it. Oh and sore arm! I've not had the second one yet but will try a walk in at 8 weeks. My 2nd is booked in August at 12 weeks

JSP21 · 08/07/2021 14:49

Had my first at 17 weeks and and only had a sore arm for a couple of hours

TakeYourFinalPosition · 08/07/2021 14:50

15, second AZ.

I felt rough after the first one but the second one was absolutely fine.

mooloop · 08/07/2021 15:09

Mine is booked for Sunday, I'll be 24 weeks. Hoping all will be fine!

choccrumpet · 08/07/2021 15:12

@Panda368 your trust sounds amazing!! I'm being turned away trying to get my second dose earlier.

I got my first Pfizer jab around 3 weeks and expecting to get my second around 11 weeks if they stick to the 8 week gap. Ideally I'd get my second jab anytime now (currently 7 weeks and everything is good so far).

Anon08 · 08/07/2021 15:17

AZ second dose 10 weeks. No issues.

Tangfastic91 · 08/07/2021 15:18

7 weeks and Pfizer. Will get my second at about 18 weeks (earlier if I can get a slot). Just had a sore arm, but took my temp regularly and had paracetamol on standby just in case. Will do the same next time around.

Panda368 · 08/07/2021 15:20

@choccrumpet yes it's good! they are doing special pregnancy drop-in sessions at my hospital which is where I had my second.
It's not being well publicised though - I only found out when my midwife told me about it.

I'm in Manchester though and I think we have quite high infection levels of delta so they seem to want to get pregnant women fully vaxxed asap.

dirtyfries · 08/07/2021 15:21

Pfizer at 28 weeks, no side effects.
Second jab currently booked for just after my due date (12 week gap) but hoping to get it done as a walk-in nearer the 8 week mark when I'll be around 36 weeks pregnant.

Really want to be double jabbed and fully protected before labour/hospital stay if possible

8dpwoah · 08/07/2021 15:23

18 weeks for first (thought it was earlier than that but I've just checked it to book the second one!) sore arm for a couple of days and maybe a bit tired but maybe not, it was borderline noticeable. Got my next one shortly at 26 weeks so will see!

aimss4777 · 08/07/2021 15:29

Got my first today at 35 weeks, had been unsure for so long now! Can't comment on side effects but pleased I got it :)

khawk89 · 08/07/2021 17:08

I was about 8 weeks I think. No side effects except a dead arm.

Monicatatie · 08/07/2021 17:27

Im not pregnant but could be because I had unprotected sex and now waiting for my AF to confirm. I went to get my second jab last weekend but they would not do it because I told them there was a chance I could be pregnant.

sarah13xx · 08/07/2021 17:54

I haven’t had mine (only just been offered it and due very soon so I’m waiting til after). There was a girl on here a few weeks ago who was 31 weeks and had the vaccine. Her waters broke a day or two later. As far as I know she still hasn’t had the baby but it seems a bizarre coincidence so soon after the vaccine. That would sway me to leave it later so at least if you go into labour it’s not terrible news. I also know of people who have had it at 16 weeks and been fine. It’s a very personal decision

That's interesting. I'm 39w and have jab scheduled for tomo. I was going to wait but was getting anxiety attacks about going outside, and even if I did rationalise myself into going to run whatever errand was, having panic attacks when out. I'm so close to due date I don't think it'll impact baby, and then when DH and I are ready to have people come visit I'll have some form of protection. And if I go into labour, baby is mostly cooked.

(I think, I'm very much in two minds still so could still cancel before tomo)
