6+4 and spotting when wiping :(

Hi all
This is my first and I have spent an entire day yesterday simply reading multiple forums to reassure me
I have a midwife appointment next friday and a private scan the week after
Please can you tell me if you've experienced anything similar?
Lots of TMI to follow, I apologise!
When I wipe, I noticed brown spotting on tissue and only ever on tissue. Sometimes it looks like mucus with brown blood. Its always a tiny blob and nothing more. Today it has been a mixture or brown and sometimes bright red. I know bright red isn't a good sign - is this how a miscarriage starts? Do I ring the EPU or is there no point as theres no pain or any other symptoms and I'm only spotting rather than heavy bleed?
Please help :(

Got a call back from GP to say I should wait for 3 weeks and then do a pregnancy test :(

I'll see if MW will get me a scan instead

@MrsTwentyNine

OMG as if that was the response from the GP >:(
Speak to midwife, I would also ring your EPU, they scanned me when I had bright red blood.

Hey. Thinking of you as this was me a few months ago! I drove myself crazy looking at forums. I am now 25 weeks pregnant and everything is going great with baby now so everything might be alright.

Definitely speak to your midwife - mine sent me for a hospital scan at just over 6 weeks due to spotting. My spotting continued until just over 12 weeks - mainly pink or red when wiping but also a few small clots and one or two ‘gushes’ with bowel movements that were particularly scary.

Hope everything works out for you!

MrsTwentyNine · 05/07/2021 14:54

Thank you @FuzzyB , so glad it is going well for you. I am not hopeful about anything at this stage except at least want no infection after all this!

@miniGmummy tell me about it ! Yes that was my plan but luckily the MW got me a scan for Wednesday. Thank God for midwives! ❤️

I passed the sac at home & it was pretty obviously but I bled heavily afterwards & had really bad pain for about 2 weeks. Had to take a pg test after 2 weeks & if it was positive had to go in for a scan to see if there were any retained products. Thankfully the test was negative & my period returned about 4 weeks later.

Glad your mw is taking you seriously & getting a scan, the not knowing is the worst!

miniGmummy · 05/07/2021 17:29

@MrsTwentyNine let us know how you get on Wednesday, hope and praying for a good outcome for you XX

MrsTwentyNine · 05/07/2021 18:27

Thank you so much @miniGmummy @JackJack84

I will update this thread wednesday
And can I just say I'm overwhelmed by the kindness shown by you all, strangers taking time out of your lives to reach out and help another stranger. Humanity at its finest. I'm so grateful for an outlet like Mumsnet where we are able to share openly and I am so grateful to you all that have shared your stories and supported me through this. I was home alone when it happened but because of you all, I felt like like I was surrounded by friends xx

MrsTwentyNine · 05/07/2021 22:57

So I have just passed something that could also be the fetal sac ...
Were there 2 ?! This breaks my heart even more 😭 Though I had no pain and the bleeding had gone down a lot and this came out randomly ...(sorry!) Still have very slight bleeds like a very light period...
Just want the scan to know if there's anything left to come out as I'm traumatised as is by everything I've seen so far.

@MrsTwentyNine I'm so sorry. I don't know, I deliberately didn't look when it happened to me, so I'm not sure what's usual - maybe someone else can advise? Hope all has passed for your scan, with no intervention you can start trying again as soon as you're ready. It's a horrible time, sending hugs xx

JackJack84 · 06/07/2021 10:09

Ahh I'm so sorry, this has just been a complete nightmare for you Thanks

TMI when I passed the sac it looked like a large yellow butter bean, slightly see through but I didn't look too closely. If you have kept them you could always take them with you to the hospital tomorrow & they may be able to give you a definite answer?

Sending you lots of hugs & a hand hold 💗

MrsTwentyNine · 06/07/2021 10:12

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thank you. Part of me wishes I hadn't looked now!

@JackJack84 didnt keep them, looked at it for 5 seconds and flushed it straightaway. Though the second one I've just passed , I had no pain or cramps since Sunday so this was out of the blue! So strange.

Thank you for your responses xx

@MrsTwentyNine

So sorry to be reading this :( there are no words I can say which will offer any comfort but I have been thinking of you since I started reading this feed xx

LKB89 · 06/07/2021 16:27

I second @miniGmummy

Can't stop thinking about you @MrsTwentyNine
Such a gut wrenchingly awful thing to go through xx

MrsTwentyNine · 06/07/2021 16:45

Thank you both @LKB89 @miniGmummy x

You just never imagine that this is something women go through because there is so little awareness around the subject. But like someone said, a few generations down hopefully the world will be more open and kind towards the matter 🤞🏽

@MrsTwentyNine I really hope things do change cos people can be so callous about it. I think unless you've experienced it you don't know how devastating it can be. After my mc I had some awful comments which really hurt me, people don't realise it's a bereavement & you're grieving.

My heart really goes out to you, you're not alone x x

Daffodil21 · 06/07/2021 17:24

@MrsTwentyNine I'm so so sorry to read this! It doesn't mean it was twins - mine came out in minimum 2 pieces, so don't be alarmed if you have more. The last one was measuring 6+3 and came out in 4 pieces.

Like PP said, no one really gets it unless they've been through it ❤️

Mummysausage36 · 06/07/2021 21:29

Hi MrsTwentyNine, I'm going through the same thing right now I've passed two large clots one yesterday which I thought must have been the sac but I passed another this afternoon after the cramping and backache got quite bad and I think this was actually the sac it was so awful I didn't want to look at it so I too flushed it, I feel so guilty I just didn't know what to do. I've got my scan tomorrow also, I'm not feeling positive. I just wanted to say I know how you feel and I wish you all the luck for tomorrow xx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 06/07/2021 21:49

@Mummysausage36 sorry your going through this also x

MrsTwentyNine · 06/07/2021 23:00

@JackJack84 @Daffodil21 thank you very much ladies. Your words have been a real comfort. It's so true about others not being able to empathise. My friends who don't have kids havent even checked up on me much as I don't think they'd understand the pain. And to be honest, I hope they never ever have to find out.

@Mummysausage36 I'm so sorry to hear that you're also going through this. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I really hope your scan goes successfully tomorrow. Like you, I'm going in with zero hope after everything. And I've essentially been bleeding since Sunday so all I can hope for is that they say there is nothing left. I really didn't want to go for the scan tbh, I am still bleeding and I've never had a scan like this before. Never imagined the first time I did, it would be for this :( I want to move on with my life. TTC has to be on hold while I heal from this 💔

I'll update this thread regardless tomorrow everyone.

@MrsTwentyNine thinking of you today. We're all here for you x

MrsTwentyNine · 07/07/2021 10:01

Thank you @Daffodil21

It's confirmed there's nothing there. They're treating as pregnancy of unknown location. They've taken bloods and want to do bloods again in 48 hours to check hcg dropping. I'm okay ladies. It was expected. I can move on now. Have a big holiday in January planned. Will get my weight under control and become the best version of me first, then get back on this TTC plan.

Thanks again for all your wonderful support getting me through these dark days x
