Hi Ladies sorry another late question. Has anyone had any discharge containing a pink colour? Light watery pink just in wiping? I'm 32 weeks. No pain. Our of breath now though x

AdventuresAwait · 04/08/2021 01:56

No, sorry @Sillysocks998, I've not had that. Do you have a number you can call for advice? How are you feeling? Xx

Sillysocks998 · 04/08/2021 06:12

Hi @AdventuresAwait I called triage, they advised me to wear a maternity pad. It's clean this morning. I read after on Google it could be cervical irritation (but I've not done anything), cervical thinning, part of a bloody show, or mucus plug being dislodged. I could still feel squirmy movements from baby. I thought that's it I'm going into labour last night! Scared me😭 x

AdventuresAwait · 04/08/2021 07:49

Sorry it was scary @Sillysocks998. Glad all is okay this morning xx

AdventuresAwait · 04/08/2021 09:38

Morning all. I have another high fasting reading today so I'm sure they'll increase my insulin dose tomorrow... and I'm having more high readings during the day too. I've been away as we had a last couple of days away together before baby arrives so I think it could be that but now I feel the worry creeping in 😔

Sillysocks998 · 04/08/2021 10:26

@AdventuresAwait I had a few days of high readings and I was wondering if it was pregnancy and placenta changes. But yesterday I ate really well and managed to keep them all below 6.6. Have a good day of eating today and see what you need to do.

Scotti84 · 04/08/2021 10:27

@AdventuresAwait ah sorry to hear that, its so shitty when they climb. Have you changed what you're eating? At least you can discuss it tomorrow and dont have long to wait. Will keep my fingers crossed for you that its just to do with being away and it improves soon x

Moominmiss · 04/08/2021 10:47

@AdventuresAwait I’m sorry you’ve had another high reading. I also had another high fasting reading today so they’ve told me to up my insulin to 7 units from tonight. It’s just crap not being able to control what my body is doing for my baby.

AdventuresAwait · 04/08/2021 11:56

Thanks @Sillysocks998, @Scotti84 and @Moominmiss. I guess I had some changes to what I was eating while we were away. Will see how I go now I'm home. Thanks for your support xx

Update for me:
The diabetic team want to "go hard" on my levels seeing as it starts too high for the day, and stays high throughout the day

I'm on metaformin and insulin pen 😬🤯 for the remaining 8 wks as she said the consultant is going to want to induce me at 38 wks 😵😵😵

I'm like no, can we not avoid the induction if it all normalises through medication? Apparently that's for discussion with the consultant at 36wks

I'm trying to avoid the full maternity ward as I was hoping for the birthing centre / more relaxed 😩

AdventuresAwait · 04/08/2021 17:06

Sorry to hear that @gems05. I wanted to avoid medication but found it helped my levels and I was able to relax a little.
My trust recommends induction at 38 weeks as soon as you start medication regardless of levels or scans! I was also... 😳🤔
I've said no to an induction but have said I'll have baby early via a c-section, so a compromise really.

CherLW · 04/08/2021 17:07

Hope you’re feeling ok @Sillysocks998 things like that are definitely going to scare us! Is all ok now? I thought I was leaking amniotic fluid the other day and they said to wear a pad over night but there was nothing in the morning… they said if it was then it would be constant and not just on and off.. maybe similar to the pinky colour you had?

@AdventuresAwait sorry to hear about the high reading, hopefully things will settle again now you’re back home? Also good to be able to chat to them about it at your appointment tomorrow, how you feeling about that? X

CherLW · 04/08/2021 17:10

I had my appointment today - I saw a consultant, diabetic consultant, had a growth scan and saw a midwife for all my obs.
I’m 35+5 today and they are happy to let me go on until my due date. My next consultant appointment is September 1st… my due date is September 3rd!! I think if there are no signs of baby making his way by the 1st then they will look at what to do next but for now I just carry on like I am.
He weighs 6lb 12oz!!!! I was thinking oh goodness he’s a beast 😂 but the consultant said al the sizes are in range and he’s happy so I should be happy… which reassured me 😊

@gems05 sorry to hear that but hopefully they can get your levels under control with the meds.
I’m diet controlled and they are happy to let me go to due date but I still have to go into hospital as I’m higher risk with GD… I was hoping for maternity centre too for the more relaxed approach. I just think now I’m in the best place and if anything bad happens then I’ll have everyone and everything I need around me x

@CherLW Feeling good in a way as I really want to see how she's growing. Also, nervous in case she is big...! So, mixed emotions I guess.

How was yours today? Xx

CherLW · 04/08/2021 17:22

@AdventuresAwait I put a little message on a couple of messages up 😊

He’s going to be big but apparently it’s all within normal range and the consultant is happy 😊

CherLW · 04/08/2021 17:22

@AdventuresAwait will be so lovely to see her, that’s always the best but isn’t it xx

OP posts:
AdventuresAwait · 04/08/2021 17:32

Oh yes @CherLW, I see it now! Glad they're happy & you can go to your due date!! That's fab! 🥳

CherLW · 04/08/2021 17:54

@AdventuresAwait I’m happier now that if he does arrive in august it’s because he wants to come out then and not because he has to be. Fingers are definitely crossed for September!!
I’m hoping yours goes well tomorrow too 😍

What was the date for your planned c section? X

OP posts:
AdventuresAwait · 04/08/2021 18:33

Totally agree @CherLW! Section is booked for 39 weeks on 2nd September. 4 weeks tomorrow! Have only told close family the date so there's still an element of surprise for most people regarding her arrival 😊

CherLW · 04/08/2021 19:13

Aww that’s so lovely @AdventuresAwait to keep it a surprise from some people!
I can’t wait to announce that he’s arrived 💙 so crazy thinking it’s about a month now! X

OP posts:
AdventuresAwait · 04/08/2021 19:25

I know! It's so close @CherLW. I actually feel that the pregnancy has gone by so quickly since the 12 week scan! Xx

Sillysocks998 · 04/08/2021 20:05

Hi, @CherLW yes pad was clean so it was just yesterday night. I find the evenings and nights the hardest.
With this GDM diet, does anyone feel like they are on the Atkins Diet! I feel sickly, weak, drained and run down.

I'm not down for an induction, but why is everyone so worried about being induced? Have I missed something? Lol.

I've been offered a natural birth if I make it to post 36 weeks but I am refusing it. I don't want the stress and then find that I need a C section anyway. Rather things be planned and no forceps / suction. I don't want a stressed baby as well. I'll have to be patient during recovery and take it slow. By this stage though, we just want what's best for the baby

CherLW · 04/08/2021 20:14

@Sillysocks998 I feel that way, sometimes I feel so shakey!

I think with an induction it’s just the unknown, it can take days for it to work in some cases! I did an online workshop which was amazing and she said if you were induced on a Monday you should expect to have a bath by the Friday and anything before is a bonus!

I will avoid a c section as much as I can mainly due to the healing process after. I live on my own and in a flat so need to be as independent as I can as soon as I can! I will have lots of people around me but the quicker I bounce back the better.

Hope you’re feeling ok about the pinky stuff, the hospital told me just to keep an eye and contact them with any further concerns
