Hey MrsG congratulations on your pregnancy and welcome to the group. Sorry to hear they have diagnosed you so early but definitely a good thing, they can keep an eye on you now 😊
For breakfasts I tend to go for peanut butter on toast (careful as people get effected different with breads), scrambled eggs, mushrooms and bacon. I also have fruit, yogurt and nuts or grape nuts (which is a a cereal) but it works for me. I’m going to make banana pancakes too, with egg and yogurt.
Lunch- Ryvita, Dairy Lea cheese, cucumber, tomatoes and ham. Tuna/Prawn/Ham/Cheese salads. Whole meal wraps with ham and salad -cucumber and tomatoes in the side.
I’d have omelette for breakfast or lunch too sometimes… a few of us have tried sugar free Heinz beans and they are good.
Dinner I mainly have a protein like fish, veggie kebab meat, tuna, chicken etc and then have a small amount of brown pasta, jacket potato, a few new potatoes and add lots of salad or veg… I add Olives, gherkins, pickled onions to the salad. Sometimes I make a pizza with a wrap as the base.
I add cheese to everything!! Love avocado so that too! Someone had mentioned halloumi!
Full fate yogurts are better and less sugar than fat free etc. It’s a lot of trial and error error.
I’ve still had a few little treats, had Nando’s out (which works really well). It’s a lot about pairing food… so if you had say an apple, eat it with cheese or peanut butter. If you had some chocolate (dark is best) have it with some nuts. Yogurt with fruit etc…
Hopefully you find some reassurance from this thread, we’re all here to help each other, wouldn’t know what I would do with out it!! X
