Hello.

I'm due 4th February after getting a very faint line on Sunday, positive on an FRER Monday and now a 1-2 weeks on a clear blue yesterday.

I am in absolute shook as I have a 7 month old at home and was on the Non-hormonal coil.

I've found out super early,

@AmICrazy36 @Sophiederuges what's the folic acid thing?

Sophiederuges · 11/06/2021 11:27

@AmICrazy36 I just have: a GP should call me back Smile I completely forgot!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 If you are obese (BMI of 39+) NICE guidelines advise you to take 5mg of folic acid rather than the regular 400mcg. That’s because apparently a lot of overweight people have very low levels of folic acid, which is vital in pregnancy (and even outside of pregnancy for that matter). You can only get it with a prescription.

AmICrazy36 · 11/06/2021 11:29

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I suffer from PCOS and my bmi is 32 so I previously was put on Folic Acid 5mg due to low folate, think I will be put on it again this time as my folate is low quite alot xx

Sophiederuges · 11/06/2021 11:33

@AmICrazy36 I used to struggle with folate levels because my body struggled to convert the folic acid. I was then given some L-methylfolate, which is the bio available version and I feel much better. It might be worth investigating? I buy mine online on Cytoplan.

AmICrazy36 · 11/06/2021 11:44

@Sophiederuges Ohh I shall need to have a look!! Thank you so much! Smile

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 11/06/2021 11:47

Thanks both! I take a multi vit with methyl folate already, so I think I'm covered. Thought there was something I'd really overlooked there so thank you ☺️

Girls I can’t cope 😫 my head feels swimmy and it’s making me feel so sick plus running round after my toddler … how do I feel so bad so early (6 weeks tomorrow?) Really felt close to breaking down yesterday with emotions and tiredness

Also finding conversations so awkward with people asking if I’ve had my vaccine. I don’t want to lie but also don’t want to explain either. Going back and forth with whether to have an early scan, I’d seen my little girls heartbeat at this stage first time round. But as much as it’s reassuring at the time, it’s only short lived until the next scan! Will try to hold out but 6 weeks seems like an eternity at the moment

Sophiederuges · 11/06/2021 14:22

@Sunshine8888 Just say yes, you’ve had it. No one will check and ask you for proof. In fact, it’s no one’s business whether you’ve had the vaccine or not.

Huffthepuff · 11/06/2021 14:27

I'm feeling really sick too. It's hard to stay focused at work when you feel rough!
Ive got a scan at EPU on Tuesday (due to previous ectopic) so I'm a bag of nerves waiting for that, desperately hoping all is as it should be

Hang in there ladies xx

hlj0627 · 11/06/2021 14:57

Iv woke up this morning and felt sick, had to run to the loo 3 times today but doing nothing but retching. Does this sound like "morning sickness"?

Iv been struggling last few days with emotions and anxiety but feel a bit better today.

Iv booked an early scan for next Wednesday when I will be 7 weeks, absolutely 🙏 it's good news. I haven't had any bleeding or much cramping so hopefully everything is all good. This is my first pregnancy and I'm a nervous wreck 😰 xx

Sunshine8888 · 11/06/2021 16:18

@Sophiederuges I’m a terrible liar, i just don’t like doing it. Plus when I get the how did you feel after etc etc 🤦🏽‍♀️

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 11/06/2021 17:18

@Sunshine8888 I've just said that I've got mine booked in shortly. It's true-ish, I'll be having it in just over a month!

McHelenz · 11/06/2021 19:53

My BMI is high...I dread to think ..but I think it's anything over 30 or 35 needs increased folic acid. After 2 days I finally got a prescription 🤦

AmICrazy36 · 11/06/2021 20:29

@McHelenz over 30 ❤️ I got mine today although the doctor said they tend to prescribe the 5mg if they are prescribing it to anyone 🙂

Small goal but actually managed to eat a dinner tonight without feeling queasy! Woohoo!! Small victory X

McHelenz · 11/06/2021 20:36

My queasiness is up and down! However I have just had a massive cry to my husband because my 17 month isn't walking yet, I don't know how I'll cope with 2 kids, I don't know how we'll afford, that the house we've bought that needs renovating and I just don't know how we'll do anything. Just feeling ridiculously overwhelmed.

AmICrazy36 · 11/06/2021 20:54

@McHelenz sweetheart it will all work out! You will be amazing with two! Plus they will keep each other company and keep each other busy when abit older to give you a breather!
The house can be done small bits at a time, it’s hormones sending you up and down my love but you got this and you will be a superstar!
If you need to talk just a message away xx

Sophiederuges · 11/06/2021 20:54

@McHelenz My child walked at 18 months. Later than her peers but she was a proficient Walker straight away Wink Now on the topic of coping with 2, I cannot help you because although mine is older, I still don’t know Grin

Sunshine8888 · 11/06/2021 21:00

@McHelenz totally with you on the overwhelmed part. Keep thinking how am I going to cope with 2 under 2 … I need a bigger house … we will have no money! All these things! It’s scary but we will be ok, we will figure it out. Plus think how lovely it will be for our first babies to have a sibling to play with 🥰

McHelenz · 11/06/2021 21:10

Thanks everyone, I know it's just me being silly! I have the health visitor coming out next week because I cried on the phone to them 🙈🙈.

Yea we always wanted to have kids close together. I'm excited and terrified. However I am hopeful I will experience a maternity leave that isn't lockdown...

Sophiederuges · 11/06/2021 21:57

@McHelenz The various lockdowns haven’t helped. I’m still traumatised by homeschooling 😂

Mamaux · 12/06/2021 10:47

I know what you all mean with emotions being up and down. I've got a new job and am dreading telling them the news, my partner doesn't live in the same town, neither of us have enough room for a baby as we have 2 bedrooms but I have a 15 year old, we cannot afford the childcare... and the list goes on. I keep going from excited to not sure whether we should even contemplate having this baby 😩😢

McHelenz · 12/06/2021 19:10

@Mamaux same even though we planned this just not so quick!! I can't remember being this anxious and tearful last time. In fact last time I felt I got better mentally!

mrskcam · 12/06/2021 19:56

Hi can I join? Due feb 14th but nervous as I have previous had a miscarriage in 2019 at 10 weeks

CaramelWaferAndTea · 12/06/2021 22:52

Can I join? Today got a clear line on 4 tests but only 3+3 or so with a due date of 24 Feb (I have quite short cycles of 25/26 days). I have had both a miscarriage and an ectopic before and have a 2 year old, been TTC for 4 cycles now. As soon as I got a positive test at 5pm I ran the baby to boots to buy FRERs and vitamins 😂.

Going to be a bit of a hold out to six weeks for a scan to check it’s in the right place - I think I ended up in at 5 weeks last time. It’s such a nervous period waiting!

AmICrazy36 · 12/06/2021 23:37

@CaramelWaferAndTea and @mrskcam congratulations lovelies! Xx
