When did you all first wash your baby clothes ready for baby’s arrival and how early is too soon??

Um. I didn't 🤷‍♀️

TeddyBeans · 05/05/2021 17:44

I washed all my baby stuff at 39 weeks and he was born at 39+4

Astronaut8 · 05/05/2021 17:44

I didn’t either.

lilroo87 · 05/05/2021 17:46

I'm 27+4 and planning on washing bits for hospital bag this weekend.
I've got 2 weeks annual leave booked before my due date so will do the rest then

jupeBex · 05/05/2021 17:46

Washed most of it at about 33 weeks ish, only because I had nothing better to do. I wasn't planning on washing them as I didn't see the point but I'd bought a set of babygrows from Aldi and the label specified that they needed to be washed before being worn due to chemicals in the fabric. It worried me a bit so I just did the whole lot x

Caspianberg · 05/05/2021 17:49

I washed everything as I bought it so it was clean in drawers.
I still do the same with all our clothes, and baby stuff means larger sizes are clean in drawer ready for when needed

MonkeyPuddle · 05/05/2021 17:56

I didn’t. Just took it out the packet and bobbed in the drawers.

RunnerDuck2020 · 05/05/2021 18:00

At about 36/37 weeks

OldFirstTimeMum · 05/05/2021 18:23

at 36 weeks.

Chelyanne · 05/05/2021 18:26

Most has been in storage for 6 years and a few new bits, will wash them around 36 weeks.

ElaborateSalad · 05/05/2021 18:27

I didn't.

Luckyelephant1 · 05/05/2021 18:28

Planning on doing it all at 36 weeks when I go on mat leave.

Do people iron all their baby clothes...

idontunderstandwhypeopledothis · 05/05/2021 18:28

I heard about this, I knew someone who did it three times before her baby was born! I never did it and my LO is fine 😊

Fispi · 05/05/2021 18:29

32 weeks because I had the time.

CrazyOldBagLady · 05/05/2021 18:29

I didn't. No ill effects.

Edelweiss2020 · 05/05/2021 18:30

Washed it all last week at 34 weeks, been given a few more things since then so might do another wash before he arrives :)

Pinkblueberry · 05/05/2021 18:48

I can’t remember how early - maybe a week or two before he arrives - but I know I won’t be bothering with baby no.2.

teddybears55 · 05/05/2021 18:50

I didn't do it either. I don't cruelly know anyone in real life that did this either.

FTEngineerM · 05/05/2021 18:52

I didn’t fist time because they were new but this time they’ve been shoved in a bag in the attic for a year and 3 months so will wash them at about 30 weeks I think.

Chelyanne · 05/05/2021 18:54

I use my ironing board as a back rest between sets in the gym lol. Haven't plugged my iron in for years!!
Pinkblueberry · 05/05/2021 18:54

Do people iron all their baby clothes...

All? Does anyone iron any of them??? I bow down to anyone who found the time and motivation to iron their own clothes once they had a new born, never mind the baby’s 😅

AyyX · 05/05/2021 18:54

I washed them about 2months ago or over a month ago, due this Sunday.
I was looking through old baby clothes from my toddler and decided to sort it out and see what new baby could wear so I washed them as I was sorting them.

FallingStar · 05/05/2021 19:03

I washed mine a few weeks ago because the weather was good, I'm 36 weeks now. I've ironed all the hospital stuff but not the rest of it.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 05/05/2021 19:10

Errr, maybe at about 38/39 weeks? I think you can wash them whenever. They won't get dirty sitting in a drawer...

andivfmakes3 · 05/05/2021 19:14

I washed tiny baby/newborn things - think I was in nesting phase and didn't like the idea of clothes being fresh out of the packet against newborn babies skins
