Hi all
I was just wondering what vitamins do are you taking in early pregnancy. At the moment I'm taking folic acid once a day but wondered what else to take of there is anything.

Also what fruits can you eat in pregnancy?

Thanks

Vitamin D is also recommended
There aren't any contraindicated fruits as far as I know

You can eat pretty much anything in pregnancy.

There's certain foods to avoid (eg soft mould ripened cheese), and certainly there's ones to limit (eg tuna)

But if you accidentally have bit of brie, you're fine :)

Check the NHS website for guidance.

You probably want to look at multivitamins for pregnancy, unless you have good diet.

Make sure the vitamins don't have vitamin A in them though. :)

I take Pregnacare Max. Main reason is in the first trimester my diet was not at all varied (all I could eat was beige food) so felt like I needed a multivitamin!

4Minions2CallMyOwn · 04/05/2021 17:30

I’m taking Pregnacare and also Vitamin D

SillyBry · 04/05/2021 17:36

I’m taking the seven seas pregnancy vitamins as the pregnacare can make nausea and morning sickness worse. They made me feel really sick in my first pregnancy.

Asda's own pregnancy multivitamin, Omega 3 (my protein brand), additional folic acid (prescribed), creatine monohydrate (I still powerlift). Did have extra zinc early on and D3 during the winter months.

Moominmiss · 04/05/2021 17:55

Just folic acid and a higher dose vitamin d.

Thank for replying. Yeah I suppose I should start taking some multivitamins myself. I mean at first I was eating everything other then sweets and chocolate. Now I feel my Appetite had decreased for some weird reason. Does that usually happen?

Everyone is affected differently :)

I never lost my appetite. I never had cravings.
I was tired first and third trimester.

It's nothing to worry about 🙂

I took folic acid whilst TTC and until my booking appointment at 10 weeks when the midwife gave me pregnancy multivitamins. When they ran out I began taking pregnacare - no issues or side effects (some say it made them sick) & purchase on Amazon where slightly cheaper.

jade0881 · 05/05/2021 00:19

@ER20
Thank you for letting me know. Maybe I'll do what you did then and carry on taking folic acid till booking appointment

It is advised to carry on with folic acid in the early stages :)

Arrierttyclock · 05/05/2021 07:44

Folic acid with vid D. All fruits are fine

Sugaryouth · 05/05/2021 14:15

Took folic acid for a couple of months prior to trying, then until I got to a certain stage in pregnancy as well as vitamin D

jade0881 · 05/05/2021 15:50

Aww thanks for letting me know xx

pregnacare max and berocca (it should have a good amount of vit b but I had symptoms of deficiency that went away now I've started taking it)

jade0881 · 05/05/2021 20:11

@georgarina
Great thanks for letting me know. Hope all is well

So I've looked in my local pharmacies and savers and can't find any vitamin d tablets. I've seen the multivitamin ones but can't take those as they have vitamin a in them.

Have been using Pregnacare Plus (with Omega 3) throughout whole pregnancy, currently at week 28 and baby doing great

RunnerGirl123 · 17/05/2021 17:57

You can get vitamin D from most big supermarkets. Or boots / superdrug will have it.

AnonymousXXIX · 17/05/2021 18:06

I get the combined folic acid and vitamin d from Holland and Barret.
