@TTCbabyH I’ve been using forehead stick and it’s really helped, looks to be safe xx

Mosshead348 · 25/04/2021 18:43

@TTCbabyH “4head”*

TTCbabyH · 25/04/2021 19:05

@Mosshead348 ah amazing il go get some tomorrow!

climbershell · 25/04/2021 20:26

What are people eating for meals when feel sick? I don't really fancy anything. First time haven't been able to eat a meal

Partner made us omelette but I can only force a few mouthfuls down. Nothing I can think of that actually seems appealing

TakeYourFinalPosition · 25/04/2021 20:26

@Iheartbed Congratulations!!

@TTCbabyH Are the headaches pregnancy related?! I’m 6 weeks... I’ve had one for the past two days but I did not make the link.

I’ve tried to avoid paracetamol too, I’m currently drinking and peeing for England.

Mosshead348 · 25/04/2021 20:27

@TTCbabyH ice packs also help and if you can stomach it, a cold cloth soaked in vinegar. I’m a migraine sufferer so these are some safe remedies I’ve used!x

TTCbabyH · 25/04/2021 20:45

@TakeYourFinalPosition yeah I think so! Rush of hormones and blood levels cause them apparently! I've never struggled with headaches before and just cannot shake them!

apwilso · 25/04/2021 20:54

Anyone else scared to book their early scan? My midwife said it's a waste of time as you won't see a heartbeat anyway?

Pineapple87 · 25/04/2021 20:57

I had a bad head ache for a week left side, that’s when I did a test 2 days before period and got a BFP. So it’s totally normal.

climbershell · 25/04/2021 21:12

@apwilso that's a very strange comment by your midwife! A 5/6 week scan is very different to 8 week early scan for example

apwilso · 25/04/2021 21:17

@climbershell I thought that as well. I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow but been having like brown discharge not heavy for the past week which she said it's fine but I'm panicking a little bit. So not sure if to book in a early scan for the end or the week privately

climbershell · 25/04/2021 21:22

@apwilso I've booked an early test for when I'm 8.5 weeks. I personally don't see the point booking before 7-8 weeks, because can show nothing even if all is as should be

Brown blood is supposed to be fine, as it's old blood. I had little bits of brown spotting but it didn't concern me (after the initial omg overreaction)

apwilso · 25/04/2021 21:24

@climbershell how long did you have brown spotting for? Feel like I need some reassurance at the minute x

Iheartbed · 25/04/2021 21:25

@apwilso your midwife is right, if they saw no heartbeat at 6 weeks doesn’t mean there isn’t one as it’s too early to be definitive
I’d leave it an extra week, saves you wasting money on something that won’t necessarily reassure you x

TakeYourFinalPosition · 25/04/2021 21:33

@apwilso I was referred to the EPU with spotting on Friday... they wouldn’t scan me as I was only 6+3, and they said before 8 weeks, it doesn’t provide much reassurance, as growth can be very different and there may not be too much to see, not always a heartbeat yet, etc. They were concerned that I’d spend two weeks scared if we didn’t see anything.., which is probably true.

If your spotting has stopped, that’s a really good sign.

I’m going to book a scan for 8 weeks, I think.

jdr1234 · 25/04/2021 21:36

@apwilso I would wait till by your dates your over 7 weeks. I went a couple of weeks ago at 7+2 but measured at 6+5 but cos was still over 6 weeks heard a nice strong heartbeat. If you go around 6 weeks they may measure you to be less and then no heartbeat which would cause anxiety and is probably just too early. The dates are so inaccurate till 12 weeks.

climbershell · 25/04/2021 21:47

@TakeYourFinalPosition the midwife categorically saying early scans are a waste of time and won't see a heartbeat is crap tho. An 8 week scan is still an early scan! And likely to have a heartbeat at 7 weeks too.

tuxedocat · 25/04/2021 21:57

@apwilso I am booking in for 7 weeks (maybe 8 if I can wait the extra week!) just to reassure myself. The end of the day you have to do what makes you feel reassured and happy. Early scans are tricky because they only show a glimpse at the moment and if you go too early as everyone else said, it might make you panic, but weigh up the advantages and disadvantages for yourself.

Early pregnancy is so so tough so sending a big hug ❤️

Velvetscrunchy · 26/04/2021 08:17

Hi! I’m 5w+6 today and due on 21 Dec (fingers crossed). Found out a couple of weeks ago and have been a bag of nerves since. It’s an IVF pregnancy and I just keep thinking something will go wrong.

Last tested by hCG last Monday and it’s rising nicely - almost tripling every 48hours. Thinking maybe I’ll test again this week...? Have my scan booked for next Monday (6w+6) but I think I’ll pull all my hair out by then! How are you all staying positive??

GracieSA · 26/04/2021 08:35

Hi everyone, i am 4w+5 today, due at the end of December.
I have a 2yo daughter and we have been trying for no 2 for the last 6 months. I had a mc in November, followed by an ectopic pregnancy in Jan. Saying I am anxious would be an understatement.
I am praying everything is alright this time, but I had brown spotting over the weekend. I know it can happen and it can be normal, but I can’t help it, I’m freaking out about it.
Maybe some of you had similar experiences and everything went well?

I have a scan next week at 6w+1 (living in Germany and scans and checkups go a bit different here I think. I don’t think they‘ll be able to see much, but they asked me to come in early because of my previous mc and ectopic.

Hope you all have a lovely day!

Pineapple87 · 26/04/2021 08:51

I’m 5+6 due the 21st..
Congratulations! Xx

cloud2021 · 26/04/2021 09:05

Hi all, I had my early scan yesterday! Measuring 7w6d (I thought I was just 7 weeks!) and strong heartbeat :) due 6th of Dec. It was a relief, also if I know it won’t be long since I start worry again :D

apwilso · 26/04/2021 09:11

Thanks everyone for your feedback.

I've stopped testing as I did an IC and it came back
Faint which they were doing anyway. Did a clear blue digital and now showing 1-2 weeks is this normal.

MushroomQueen · 26/04/2021 10:21

@DarceyCat that sure sounds confusing, no wonder you're feeling all over the place. I had a chemical in November and January (I had covid at the time so think it caused it ) I did a test the day of period and it was definitely negative the fact you've had 2/3 weeks on cb suggests either implantation or perhaps some other bleeding. Sounds like you are pregnant tho. Have you spoken to midwife ?

tuxedocat · 26/04/2021 11:15

@cloud2021 wow, amazing news! And an extra 6 days too, what a bonus!
