Is anyone else due around Christmas Eve (so around 4 weeks 6 days), what symptoms are you having? I’m probably being too paranoid but yesterday I had loads of symptoms, tiredness, a bit sick and then today I feel completely normal. I’ve heard symptoms come and go but probably extra worried due to miscarriages on the last two. Although with my daughter I don’t think sickness properly kicked in until 6 weeks.

Hi all, I had my first midwife appointment last night I'm 6+2 today. Just waiting for my scan dates to come now. I'm still undecided on booking an early scan or not. I have also been classed as high risk and put under a consultant which has added to my worries. Tho this has made it more real now.

Cuddles21 · 21/04/2021 13:38

Hi @Mumtotwofurbabies I'm 5+1 today and the only symptom I have is sore boobs and acne. I was worried I'm not having more symptoms- for anyone with nausea, at what stage did it kick in?

Mosshead348 · 21/04/2021 13:38

@TTCbabyH definitely take that as a positive, radiographer knows best! That is so so exciting for you with the IVF too, I can’t imagine what that must have been like. We’re in for one exciting journey!xx

jdr1234 · 21/04/2021 13:57

@Cuddles21 my nausea didn’t kick in till 6 weeks, I’m now 8 weeks and struggling to fully function most days. For anyone worrying about lack of symptoms pls try not to stress, this is my 3rd pregnancy and with my 1st I had zero symptoms, 2nd mild to none and this one is flooring me. Just be grateful you are one of the lucky ones!

Kinsters · 21/04/2021 14:00

Mumtotwofurbabies I'm due 23rd and not got many symptoms. Tired and a bit nauseous but it comes and goes. I'm trying to enjoy it while it lasts even though it does make me anxious. With my miscarriages I never had such bad nausea as with my daughter so I'm hoping it picks up soon tbh even though it feels horrible.

Vemjs · 21/04/2021 14:20

Just wondering when do you all plan on telling your Managers? Is it something that most people wait 12 weeks for too?

Cuddles21 · 21/04/2021 14:24

@jdr1234 I know, I should be glad that I'm feeling ok! I guess I'm just worried not a lot of symptoms is a bad thing.

Sair44411 · 21/04/2021 14:26

@climbershell

I've lost 0.2kg in a week and not enough nausea to affect my diet yet. It's because I burn a lot of calories in a day (3500ish). I used to eat a fair bit in the evenings, but I'm going to bed so early I'm not eating after dinner anymore 🤦‍♀️ bit concerning!

I mean it's easy to unintentionally lose weight this time of year and that's ok usually, but not now! Guess I gotta find more snacks or calorie foods. Tho having said that, the nausea is slowly creeping up on me, 6+1 today

Can't believe I only found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago today, feels a lifetime ago already!

Actually I was just about to post. I've lost 3.5lb since I found out. I'm 6+1 and also found out 2 weeks ago. Unlike you though, I'm sure I'm not burning anywhere near those calories - but doesn't seem right to be losing weight and not gaining it.

I haven't had sickness or been sick either so it's a bit confusing to me.

BrodieKD · 21/04/2021 14:36

@Sair44411 I've lost weight too. I've been doing a lot of walking but I feel like I've eaten a lot more treats. I actually feel quite sick right now after eating half a bag of drumstick squashes 😂

MovinOnUp · 21/04/2021 16:27

Hello all.
Early scan went well today, baby measures 6w and 6 days but I should be 7+1. Sonographer says this is probably because the baby was doing a headstand and she is not worried as a good strong heartbeat was present.
This is the furthest we've ever got, I'm starting to get a bit excited now 😊

TakeYourFinalPosition · 21/04/2021 16:45

@Cuddles21 I’m 5+2 today and my nausea started yesterday - but I mentioned lack of nausea and general symptoms to the doctor last week as I was worried, and she said 25% of women don’t get nausea, so lots of people won’t.

I still worried, and then yesterday couldn’t decide if I was actually nauseous or if it was all in my head GrinConfused

BrodieKD · 21/04/2021 16:45

@MovinOnUp that's brilliant! Glad everything went well x

TakeYourFinalPosition · 21/04/2021 16:52

@MovinOnUp Ah that’s so exciting! A handstand Grin

Cuddles21 · 21/04/2021 17:05

Thanks @TakeYourFinalPosition - I'm curious to see if I will suffer nausea or not as my mam was sick for the whole pregnancy on me as was first girl after three boys!

Sair44411 · 21/04/2021 17:35

I'm going to try and wait until 12 weeks. I've in the middle of being made permanent in a higher role (currently seconded) so a small part of my brain is worrying being pregnant May effect that process (even though I know it shouldn't) I think it depends on what your comfortable with.

Congratulations! That's amazing news - hope everything keeps going so smoothly for you!
climbershell · 21/04/2021 18:23

@Sair44411 exactly, I don't feel I should be losing weight at this stage, but shouldn't be gaining really, just maintaining more or less. But I guess at 6+2 it doesn't really make too much difference accidentally losing a couple of pounds. I'm sure it'll all average out 🙂

We love to over think don't we 😅

Wow I'm drained again, only v slight nausea so far, which I'm kind of hoping stays, but kind of makes me feel a little uncomfortable, which I know is silly!

Nellieee · 21/04/2021 18:25

Great news @MovinOnUp! Bet you're so relieved.

Question for those who had/have private early scans: how many weeks were you at the date of the scan, and was it before or after your midwife appointment? I'll be 6 weeks on Sunday, and can have one any date from then... I'm just weighing up whether to have one or not, and if I do, when.

TheDamnFoolThatShotHim · 21/04/2021 18:34

@vemjs I told my Headteacher at around 9 weeks with my last pregnancy, purely because of Covid. Ended up being grateful I had done as when I miscarried it meant he already knew what was going on and I didn't have to stress about work.

It made the whole situation a lot easier to deal with so I told him early again this time at around 6/7 weeks. He's sworn to secrecy for now! But I feeling better knowing he knows just in case I have any issues.

It will totally depend on your personal feelings and circumstances though. I don't think there's any right or wrong really.

Cuddles21 · 21/04/2021 18:34

Can I just add another question to @Nellieee 's - when are you all planning to tell parents?

BrodieKD · 21/04/2021 18:44

@Nellieee @Cuddles21 I have one booked in for 8 weeks which is a week on Sunday. My midwife appointment is 2 days later. I decided 8 weeks as it breaks up the anxious wait until 12 week scan and we should see a heartbeat. We are telling our parents the day after the early scan. We were going to see them the same day but we want one last night of our little secret once we've had the scan Smile

Nellieee · 21/04/2021 18:50

@Cuddles21 I've already told my Mum. She needed some good news, and I wanted to ask her advice etc! Currently deciding when to tell Dad & partner's parents... I am reluctant to tell SIL before 12 week scan as she is awful at keeping ANYTHING secret and is a massive gossip, but I'm not sure I can get away with that without looking unreasonable 🤔 I also doubt his parents would keep it from her. What are you thinking?

Nellieee · 21/04/2021 18:51

Aw cute @BrodieKD!
