@jengrosve Yeah I'm far too impatient lol. I'd like to have a gender reveal but not a party just like with the grandparents x

jengrosve · 20/04/2021 11:05

@Hxoxox That’s a nice idea! Are you hoping for a particular sex or just as happy with either? I’d love a girl!
Are you as worried as me that this baby will be late and born on Christmas Day? Shock

Hxoxox · 20/04/2021 11:18

@jengrosve Would be happy either way as long as baby is healthy! I was swaying for boy before I fell pregnant but now I'm just so happy! Oh yeah! I'd be happy to go early lol!! I want baba at the dinner table with their wee cute outfit on lol.

Hi ladies hope you don't mind me joining I am currently 6 weeks pregnant with my first I was just curious how long dose it normally take to get in touch with a midwife or any sort of help at all?

I called my doctors just over a week ago and they said to fill out a form online and it would be refured to the midwife who will get in contact

I am fine at the minute but just a little concerned that if I needed anything or had any worries or bleeding or anything who would I contact at this current time?

Don't know if I'm mabey a little nieve to it all with it being my first so any help would be great thanks ladies x

Supamum3 · 20/04/2021 12:07

Hi all,

Please can I join? Congratulations to everyone 🍼

I am 7 + 3 with my 3rd baby. This little bean is a complete shock, in fact due to my dh working shifts we only dtd once this month!! I have ds8 who we ttc for one year and ds6 who we ttc for 3 months so it’s strange to experience this as a total surprise.

Due date is early December. The sickness and exhaustion is awful, I literally have no energy for anything😩😩 I’m usually very active and run 2/3 times a week as well
As yoga and walks with my ds but for the past few weeks I literally can not do
anything, I can’t wait for this time to pass.

We’ve told close friends and family, we just couldn’t keep it in lol

MrsMiddleMother · 20/04/2021 12:24

Congratulations everyone!
Got my bfp on Friday, I'm not 4 weeks and 3 days so still soo early! I have a 2yr old boy already and had an early loss in September last year.

Has anyone had/booked an early scan for around 7 weeks?

Where abouts do you live? I had an appointment scheduled for a pelvic exam before I knew I was pregnant. I called the day before to cancel it and the nurse filled the referral form for me over the phone. I heard from midwives the next day and they've introduced themselves to me, gave me a contact number and an appointment on 4th May for 1 hour over the phone.

From what I've read I must have been really lucky though to have had such quick contact.

I'm 6 weeks today so we must be due at the same time 🤰

MushroomQueen · 20/04/2021 13:24

Welcome new people. I am not having an early scan, but I would love one, to just check all is as it should be. I am 5 weeks today, I have had on and off random feelings of sickness, but luckily not too much. I find I am worse if I don't eat often (not great as I am overweight already) and an hour after eating I feel a bit sick again but it soon passes. I am v v tired in the evenings, it has been annoying me as usually I get kids to bed (they go to bed late anyway here in Portugal compared to UK kids) and i would have me time watching netflix and things like the circle, but I am so so tired I tidy up and crash so I don't get any me time, boo oh woe is me lol

MovinOnUp · 20/04/2021 13:42

Hello

I'm 7 weeks today and due 7th December.(all being well)
I'm having an early scan tomorrow because of a previous ectopic.

I had missed miscarriages in 2018 and 2019 but had decided to have one last try and here we are.

I'm an absolute nervous wreck, dreading the question "so how sure of your dates are you?"

sjhs86 · 20/04/2021 13:51

@MovinOnUp good luck with your scan tomorrow. I had a previous MMC too so I understand how you’re feeling. I hope everything is perfect for you.

I have an early scan on Friday (will be 7+6 by then hopefully) so I’m super nervous too.

Trollydolly1993 · 20/04/2021 13:54

Thank you @sair44411 I think mabey I should chase them up I live in Bedfordshire how about you?

I'm not sure if different districts have different protocols just don't want to be missing something if I should be having appointments booked in that's all😁

Awhhh lovely yeah will be due around the same time

MovinOnUp · 20/04/2021 13:54

@sjhs86 thank you so much.
I'll virtually hold your hand on Friday if you like 😊

Hxoxox · 20/04/2021 14:14

I'm in Scotland. I called my GP last Wednesday and they said it would be a telephone appointment first then a face to face. The earliest she could give me as they are booked up was first week in May! Not sure what else to expect! I don't know when they will offer me a scan if I get that date at my face to face or if they send me a letter! I could ask various friends who are pregnant at the moment but don't want to let anyone know yet!

Sair44411 · 20/04/2021 14:18

I'm in Newcastle. I'm not sure either of different areas have different processes. But either way I would chase up just to make sure it's all been submitted and received.

I'm still not 100% sure of my dates. I still don't really understand how it's worked out so it's on my list of questions to ask in my appointment.

Have you had any symptoms?

Wakeupsunshinex · 20/04/2021 14:23

@Hxoxox Where abouts in Scotland are you? It must vary from trust to trust because I'm in Glasgow and it's a self referral system to the midwife here, they give you your booking in appointment and first scan when you call. They let me know all appointments were now face to face and that I could take one person with me, although they might need to wait outside until it's my turn. I hope you get some clarity for your appointments soon! My midwife appointment isnt until 19th of May, must be lots of xmas babies on the way lol.

Hxoxox · 20/04/2021 14:31

@Wakeupsunshinex I'm in Fife. It's crazy eh? What's worse is one of my friends is a midwife but I don't want to tell anyone but I'd be bombarding her 🤣🤣.

The receptionist told me the midwife would call me and take some information then I'd see someone the next time! I probably should have asked more questions but I was just a bit all over the place lol.

It's such a wait eh! It's a shame they don't have one formal process. At least he can go in with you hopefully doesn't have to wait outside though lol!

Mosshead348 · 20/04/2021 14:39

How do I join this group!!!!!xxx

sjhs86 · 20/04/2021 15:01

@Hxoxox I’m in fife too ☺️ My first appointment was booking appointment with midwife over the phone and it lasted about 40 mins. I have an early scan due to history but the midwife will give you guidance on what happens next at the booking appointment.

Hi definitely chase them up! I'm also in Bedfordshire, contacted midwife at 5 weeks (when I was pregnant 3 years ago) didn't hear anything, was nearing my 12 weeks so chased them up, they'd lost my referral form and only had my name written down! Had to rush the booking in and dating scan on the same day.
Mosshead348 · 20/04/2021 15:17

@Wakeupsunshinex I’m Glasgow too and my midwife app is also 19th May! Good luck to you!xx

Wakeupsunshinex · 20/04/2021 15:26

@Mosshead348 Ah lovely! Good luck to you too! Have you got long to wait until your first scan? I'm so impatient, everything feels so far away lol.

Hxoxox · 20/04/2021 15:30

@sjhs86 ohh thanks 😊...! I did wonder how long it would be because I'll be at work lol. How are you feeling? X

sjhs86 · 20/04/2021 15:34

@Hxoxox I’m really nauseous and tired but seem to be able to manage the nausea by constantly eating carbs and sweeties 🙈.... How about you? Any symptoms? x

Mosshead348 · 20/04/2021 15:37

@Wakeupsunshinex I’m actually getting an early scan tomorrow with NHS as I had a bit of a complicated miscarriage before this and we can’t date the pregnancy 😂 so I’m so nervous about that. Have you considered a private scan? There’s a place window to womb in Hamilton that scan from 6 weeks! I’m feeling SO nauseous and tired so hoping these are good signs xx
