@AdriannaP
@ComebackQueen

I think it's just us at the moment (sorry if I forgot anyone) but hoping that more and more of us will be joining soon!
I figured it would be nice to stay in touch here too, throughout the exciting yet nerve-wracking next stages! 💞

How are you getting on? 🙂

@ComebackQueen My only worry with getting both is my arm was sore for a week with the whooping cough jab and for 3 days with the vaccine, if I had gotten one in each arm I would have had a hard time sleeping on my side 🙈😅. If you can get the whooping cough done with your GP, I'd delay that one like you said.

With the formula feeding, they have suggested amounts on the tin but all babies are different so don't be afraid to go with what suits your baby. For example, my newborn DD had 8 bottles a day(so every 3 hours) and she would take 3oz a time. My niece at the same age was having 6 bottles a day (so every 4 hours) and wouldn't always take a full 3oz. Both girls were bang on all their measurements, developments, mine was just hungrier 😅. Generally as they get older they have fewer bottles, but larger amounts. By age 9 months my DD was having 3 8oz bottles for example, some babies would be having more or less at that stage, you will probably find you are led by your baby to a certain extent there. I would start with the measurements on the tin and adjust slightly as needed 😊. I started with 6 3oz bottles when I gave up the breastfeeding at 1 week old, my DD was not long letting me know that she wasn't going to stand for it so we went to 7 and then finally she was happy at 8 🤣

Bizawit · 23/07/2021 22:38

@ComebackQueen I’ve had both covid vaccinations now. At each appointment they asked me to confirm that I hadn’t had any other vaccines in the last week, so I think maybe avoid getting them both done in the same week? Otherwise it should be fine I think..

eloiseislost · 24/07/2021 11:19

@ComebackQueen The only reason they want a gap between any vaccines is to make sure that if you get any side effects, they know which one caused it. Some people say a week, some say two, but I think you're doing the right thing to prioritise the covid vaccination. The whooping cough you can have any time up until the third trimester -it's to give antibodies to the baby for after they are born. I had my covid vaccine at 16 weeks and my whooping cough after my 20-week scan.

ComebackQueen · 24/07/2021 14:11

@Bluey18 thanks, ok I was wondering how you just ‘know’, good job the formula tins will help me that and, the baby telling me he wants more or less. The more this pregnancy advances the more I realise I am so unprepared, still not started buying and I’ll be in third trimester soon, God willing.

@eloiseislost and @Bizawit thanks for clarifying, it’s going to be CoVid first for me then a few weeks later. Plus, as Bluey pointed out, I don’t want having two sore arms Blush.

I think im one of the few people in London that thinks the relaxation of rules has been silly given we have the new variant and, pregnant women will eventually be asked to go back to work places. It’s like we have been abandoned in our most vulnerable time.

Sorry, bit of a rant but it’s like pregnant women are an after thought.

Makingnumber2 · 24/07/2021 18:28

@ComebackQueen I couldn’t agree more and totally feel the same in terms of relaxation of all safety measures. Especially for those who haven’t yet been fully vaccinated. Makes me so cross.

ejefferinton · 24/07/2021 21:21

@ComebackQueen and @Makingnumber2 thanks for the encouragement and advice! Still haven't heard from midwife yet so if I don't hear by the end of next week will give them a call (will be 7w2d). Therefore don't know when my scan will be but hopefully early September and just before I go back to work! So glad it's the Summer holidays, felt very sick at lunchtime today and nearly threw up in a flower bed at Kew Gardens!

Carol1980 · 24/07/2021 23:19

ejefferinton · 25/07/2021 08:41

Hi @Carol1980 welcome and congratulations! What wonderful news! Have you contacted the doctor/midwife yet? I'm just over a week ahead of you, it's nerve-wracking isn't it! Have you had any symptoms yet? I've started struggling more with the nausea but would definitely rather be pregnant and nauseous than not pregnant and feeling fine!

ComebackQueen · 25/07/2021 08:53

@Carol1980 omg yay congratulations another addition to the thread.

@ejefferinton absolutely and it’ll be worth it when the little one arrives, also, they say nauseous feeling and vomiting is a sign of a strong pregnancy, well that’s what I was told!

Fingers crossed you have lovely sticky ones and your 12 week scans all go well.

So lovely to see more people on this thread, who would have thought a yogurt pot and syringe would work so well! Hehe

Carol1980 · 25/07/2021 08:58

@ejefferinton I feel a bit of a fraud. Last cycle we didn't manage any SI as my hubby was away at work when I was in my fertile week, the. Our daughter got a temp and a cough so we had to isolate until we got her a PCR. When it came back negative it was the day I actually ovulated or the day before ( can't exactly remember) so we thought we were out this month. Managed to DTD 2 nights in a row ( I put this down to the pressure being off to perform as we had SI as a back up) but he managed to 💦 inside me and boom !! Those two sessions got us pregnant !! So despite doing SI for a year mixed with DTD the one month we thought no chance is the month we catch !!

Symptom wise I feel a bit tired but more physically, had a moment of nausea yesterday after lunch and other than sore boobs( all at the sides) and lots of creamy CM the past 2 days I feel fine !

Carol1980 · 25/07/2021 08:59

@ComebackQueen thanks lovely x glad to be here x

ejefferinton · 25/07/2021 09:09

Thanks @ComebackQueen!
Not a fraud at all @carol1980 you're very welcome here! We've all been in such similar situations... the important thing is that you're pregnant, not how you got there! I've also got very sore boobs, that's been my main symptom. Some of my bras have got very uncomfortable!

primrosechill · 25/07/2021 09:17

Yayyyy @Carol1980 AMAZING news, I know what a rollercoaster it's been, so huge congrats 🎉🎈Never a fraud on here: Mine was eventually an IVF pregnancy but I gave SI 18 months of my life so still very much feel like a graduate! So nice for you to have @ejefferinton so close in due dates too, I think the gap between the two of you is the same as between myself and @Makingnumber2. Ahh so great to have some new names on here and some good news to celebrate.

I'm exactly 16w today. I just can't wait now until I can feel her 😭😭😭 Should hopefully be soon! Ladies on here: When did you first feel your baby and what was it like? I heard mentions of "flutters" so am trying to figure out what to watch out for.

We did a private assurance scan on Friday just because we're both impatient and OBSESSED with seeing her hahah - it's so amazing seeing how much she changes. Seeing a consultant on Monday to talk about my birth plan/options given my vaginismus etc.

Makingnumber2 · 25/07/2021 09:55

Yayyy- HUGE congratulations @Carol1980!! I had seen your tentative post on the other thread and was hoping you'd be over here to join us- so, so happy for you as I know this has been such a long journey for you.
Will be praying this is a sticky bean and that you have a beautifully healthy and straight forward pregnancy! Grin

@ejefferinton

@primrosechill how lovely you got to see her again! So exciting! I'm so impatient for my 20wk scan- cannot wait to FINALLY find out the sex. With my first I had anterior placenta and didn't feel flutters or anything until 20, maybe even 22 weeks.
This pregnancy I've been feeling (I think..) movement since week 15, which I put down to a) not having anterior placenta but also b) knowing a bit better what it feels like. I do still have moments though where I'm like: is that a movement or is it gas??
For me it feels either similar rolling to gas- or you know if you get a twitch/pulsing in your eye or another body part- it can also feel like that.
Will you be getting to hear heartbeat at your 16w midwife appointment? That'll be something else to look forward to if it is a face to face appointment!
Also great news you've got your appointment sorted to talk through your birth options- I am a firm believer in the earlier you start thinking about these things the better Smile
@ejefferinton I agree with Comeback that lots of nausea and sickness is a good sign of strong hormone levels- or that what's my mum told me anyway when I was sick as a dog for so long with my first! Did make me feel slightly better about my suffering- haha!

eloiseislost · 25/07/2021 10:28

@Carol1980 Huge congratulations!!!! 🥳❤️ I'm so happy that more and more of us graduate! 👩🏻‍🎓 Wishing you a healthy pregnancy!

OP posts:
eloiseislost · 25/07/2021 10:38

@primrosechill I think for first time mums, it's difficult to identify those first movements.
For example, on week 17 I felt two stabs on my bladder while I was in the car. I now know this is what my girl loves doing, dancing on my bladder 💃🏻, but at the time I thought it was just a funny sensation from needing to pee and wearing ever-tightening jeans.
Nothing much since, until 20 weeks, right after my scan, I felt 3 very forceful pokes on my belly button. I suspected it was the baby but I still wasn't sure. Now I know she gets really annoyed after scans and her kicks are extra strong after she's been poked. 😂
I certainly couldn't feel her every single day until about 26 weeks (anterior low placenta). And it took me a while to identify what's the baby moving and what is gas.
Now I'm 29+2 and she has developed a pattern and I can feel her moving all day with some short periods of inactivity. And you can't mistake these kicks for gas, I'm telling you!!

OP posts:
ComebackQueen · 25/07/2021 11:19

@primrosechill
I’m gone 25 weeks now and have noticed the baby kicks mainly on my left at night or sporadically in the day, if I lie completely flat and suck on ice cubes I get some kicks.

It’s really sensation, but, as I am severely constipated, I feel more from those cramps than the kicks LOL.

Ok totally random but has anyone heard of a company called baby planet? I’ve seen some really good deals on there but I’ve seen either really positive reviews or really negative.

I’ve got my eye on the maxi-cosi travel set for c£400 but other shops have this for close to £700 so I’m wary.

primrosechill · 25/07/2021 11:21

Thank you both, super helpful. It probably doesn't help that I suffer from IBS so I already feel like my stomach/bowels are talking to me and moving all day long 😂 It might be a bit harder to figure out which one of those is my little avocado (or I think now officially an orange?) but I can't wait.

@Makingnumber2 I'm actually not sure about the format/focus of the 16w midwife meeting but it is in person and this Friday so I'll keep you posted! How excited that you think you can feel your little one already.

@eloiseislost I can't believe you're 3/4ths of the way in already! Eeek

eloiseislost · 25/07/2021 14:22

@ComebackQueen Haven't heard of baby planet, is this their website? www.babyplanetonline.co.uk/
If so, they accept PayPal payments so you're guaranteed your money back if what you bought doesn't arrive / it's not what your ordered.

@Carol1980 yayyyy!!!! 🤩🤩🤩. Huge congratulations. Great to have you here ❤️.

@primrosechill with my first I felt my first kick at 17+4. I was sitting in the tube and it felt like something popped in my lower abdomen / pelvis 😆. Then I felt nothing for a few more days, and then a couple more pops in bed around 18 weeks. After that it got more and more. By 20 weeks it was more definite/ obvious movement. It’s the weirdest/ coolest feeling 🥰.
This time I started feeling movements around 14 weeks, but I attribute that to knowing what they felt like. I’m 22 weeks now , and constantly stressing about movement 🤦🏼‍♀️ because some days I feel loads and other days hardly at all. Looking forward to things getting a bit more regular. I’ve had an anterior placenta both times.
X

Carol1980 · 26/07/2021 08:44

Morning ladies, don't worry....but think my symptoms have started to go...I'm feeling ok just now but the only proper symptom I had was sore boobs and I've woken up this morning with nothing. Took a weeks test and it's came back as 1-2 week 🙄🙄🙄 I've probably totally jinxed it by jumping on the thread ! So apologies for that !!

I'm going to wait a few days before testing on the weeks one again to see what happens. I don't want to obsess because if it's what I think it is then there is nothing I can do about to at all.

Sorry if I've put a dampener on this thread you ladies are amazing and I'm wishing you all the luck in the world x

eloiseislost · 26/07/2021 09:12

@Carol1980 Good morning! I am sorry you are stressing out, early pregnancy is such a draining experience! Rest assured that you didn't jinx anything, and, whatever the outcome, you couldn't have changed it in any way.
In terms of the weeks indicator tests, it sounds to me like you are hovering somewhere around the hcg threshold between 1-2 and 2-3 weeks, which is 153. Hcg levels do fluctuate, so I wouldn't worry too much about these tests right now.
You are not putting a dampener on the thread or anything, please come here to talk/vent/rant and keep us up to date!
I am keeping my fingers tightly crossed for you and your bean! 🤞🏼

@eloiseislost thanks love x your right it's a stressful time and honestly I'm done in with it all, part of me is like ' what did you expect' especially after so long, I'm not depressed about it more angry with myself for allowing it to consume me the past few day now I'm kicking myself !🤦🏼‍♀️

Thank you for such a reassuring reply though, I'll just be trying to keep myself busy x

I've just watched the latest episode of the handmaids tale which was sooooo good ! But yes trying to stay positive ❤️

eloiseislost · 26/07/2021 10:24

@Carol1980 I know you can't help it, but you're being too harsh on yourself. Of course you would be consumed by the situation, you are pregnant! Today you are, because you have a positive test and no pain or bleeding.
I feel that women are pressured into turning early pregnancy into a taboo. What's next? We won't celebrate weddings because divorce rates are high? We won't celebrate Mother's Day because our mothers will eventually pass away?
Early pregnancy is an uncertain time, with as many as 30% of pregnancies ending in miscarriage, but that doesn't make it any less wonderful and any less of a miracle. The moment you get a BFP you can't help but see your future through a very different lens. You did nothing wrong! Sending hugs 🤗

Oh I had forgotten about Handmaid's Tale, it's been so long since I watched the previous series!! How many episodes are available now? I tend to wait for all to come out so I can binge.
