So it's my first and I've had a right ride, personally and physically... Deaths in family, stress at work, every pregnancy symptom under the sun but full on version, i.e. Had to get medication for morning sickness that's practically lashed throughout blah blah blah... I've eaten well... Just too much, made sure I've had meat 2 veg etc, lots of fruit, vitamins but a lot of snacks/comfort food to... I started off at 12.7st...now 15.6, 4 weeks to go.... This is the obviously more weight gained than was recommended for my initial BMI... I don't have diabetes, and self monitor anyway with the same dip sticks the NHS use.
Just wondering if any other mums out there gained more weight than recommended and what your experiences were in terms of baby size, labour etc etc.
Please don't beat me up for being careless, it's been a shit time.

Just over a stone and a half. Baby came out at 10 lbs 3.

I gained 18 pound and baby was 6 pounds 7.

I lost weight in all my pregnancies, due to sickness, nausea and going off anything fatty, sweet, cheesy or stodgy. I craved things like apples, raw carrots and ice.
Their weights (4DC) ranged from 7lb-9lb6oz,

I lost well over a stone with each pregnancy. Very slender by the time my babies were delivered each over 9.5llbs.
It’s definitely true breastfeeding helps you regain your figure. I put it all back on in a few weeks.

Give yourself a break, if you’re eating healthily then it might be the weight of the baby and everything else.

I was 7st 4lb at the beginning of pregnancy and by the end I was 10st 10lb!

Baby was 8lb 10oz. Within 2 weeks I had lost 2 stone. Then I gradually lost a stone over the 8 months. Baby is 2 and I’ve been 7st 4 again for a while now (I’m a petite person btw- it sounds small but it’s normal for me).

I gained 4st. My pregnancy craving was jaffa cakes, and I totally rolled with it. Grin

Baby was nearly 10lbs and I lost 20 pounds almost immediately after she was born. Lost the rest within a few months.

I'm very tall and Dd has consistently been at the top of the charts for height though.

OP you’ve got so much going on, as long as you’re eating the fruit/veg/health then don’t feel bad about the munchy stuff. It’s up to you whether you listen to me though! That was my mentality purely because I was so bloody hungry in both pregnancies, given that your stomach shrinks and switches places with practically your lung in pregnancy I don’t know how I found the room for all the food I ate.

For context; I’m a 10 stone woman. Gained 5 stone with both pregnancies (50% body weight increase) and tested for GD with both which came back negative. I was just so hungry! First baby was just under 10lb, second born was just under 11lb so yes, big babies! But both came out naturally and I lost the weight eventually.

Don’t get hung up on these details. Do what you need to do now. Your body will do what it needs to do no matter how chunky the baby. And the weight will come off somehow if you want it to afterwards. You’re doing perfectly.

Gained loads with both of mine but neither baby was big. I wasn't expecting them to be big either... I was eating loads! Both times went from around 8st to 11.5st. First baby 7lb 13 and second was a couple of weeks early and was 6lb 12.

I gained 4 stone, went from 52 kg pre pregnancy to approx 77 ish kg at delivery. I stopped weighing myself by the end of it to be honest, found it too depressing. Baby was 3.7kg (which is around 8 lbs I think?). Now I am 4 months post partum, ebf, and already lost about 17 kg. I am not really doing anything special to lose it either, just breastfeeding, walks, and baby that doesn't really nap in the day 😬

First time round 9 years ago I went from 11stone to about 13/14 Stone but I looked massive in all my photos from prebirth after birth. My daughter was 9lb3 8 days late. Lost most of the weight within a year or so but I wasn't very healthy.

This time round I started at 13stone4 and I'm 14stone10 at 34 weeks. I was trying to only gain 2 stone this time by not over eating last time round I ate all day everyday. This baby is measuring bigger this time round 🙊

For me personally I know the weight isn't important as long as me and baby are ok. With lockdown I was at my heaviest I've ever been and wasn't happy with the way I looked. I'm looking forward to getting out walking once the baby is here.

Try not to be so hard on yourself xx
