Total loss of symptoms at 6 weeks - is it all over?

Hiya :)

I am currently 6+3 with my first pregnancy and over the last couple of days my symptoms have completely disappeared. Since testing positive my boobs had been really sore and swollen. I began feeling sick about a week ago and I'd had some mild cramping/pulling feelings in my lower abdomen.

However, over the last 2-3 days all these symptoms have faded to nothing and now I feel completely normal. I conceived via IVF and I have severe endometriosis; I just feel so sad that this might be over before it even got started.

I have a private scan booked tomorrow but I am bracing myself for the worst.

Does anyone have any positive stories of losing symptoms and going on to have a healthy pregnancy? Xx

Hey there - So I am 10 weeks pregnant now and my symptoms have pretty much gone. They are not what they were. When I was around 5-6 weeks I had sore boobs, felt cold all the time and had a bit of nausea (nothing much to be honest - was never sick) and a few more cramps. We had a scan a week ago and everything was fine but in the last few weeks I feel a lot more 'normal' - I hope this helps! Pregnancy is weird - I think some people just don't get symptoms!

ag92 · 04/03/2021 14:02

Hope all is ok @Stella212 and the scan goes well! Can understand the worry as I'm always worried xx

Stella212 · 04/03/2021 14:08

Thanks for replying @ag92. Yes, this is such a worrying time, even though I've wanted to be pregnant for so long and now I'm a bag of nerves! I'm relieved to hear that your scan went well :) I've read that some women just don't have many symptoms but it's just the total loss of everything that has freaked me out. I guess I will get some news tomorrow... fingers crossed for good news x

Fingers crossed for you @Stella212 - It's good just to get the reassurance from a scan - That's what we did :) Yeah exactly some people just don't get much and I guess your body could have just got used to it! I definitely 'felt' more pregnant earlier on than I do now - so weird isn't it? x

Symptoms don't mean anything. You can have loads, you can have none. They can come and go or stay throughout your whole pregnancy. It doesn't mean anything

MimiDaisy11 · 04/03/2021 14:58

I wouldn't worry about it especially if you've not had bleeding etc. My symptoms came and went. There were days when I just felt "normal".

Stella212 · 04/03/2021 15:14

Thanks @SnooperTrooper12345 - I think I needed that! I wish I could shake myself out of this worry and just relax lol.

And thanks @MimiDaisy11 - it's definitely good to hear others' experiences. I'm not spotting and no pain or anything so I am taking some solace in that.

I will suck it up until tomorrow - There's nothing I can do either way!

@Stella212 Hi op. It's so stressful to be thinking this in early pregnancy. Before I had ds1, I had a missed miscarriage. I did know until 11 weeks, but an ultrasound showed that the pregnancy didn't go beyond 6/7 weeks. I was upset but not surprised, I knew my symptoms had disappeared and I felt normal and just not pregnant.
However, I had 3 subsequent healthy pregnancies following and in 2 of them my symptoms dramatically dropped off at around 6-7 weeks also, even though everything was fine. I would desperately try to tune into feeling a bit nauseous or finding a tender spot on my boobs to assure myself I was still pregnant.
Could you book yourself in for an early scan? I had a private scan last time at around 8 weeks as I was terrified that my pregnancy wasn't progressing.

TulesDana · 04/03/2021 15:27

@stella21 Just seen that your having an early scan tomorrow, I hope it's reassuring.

marplemead · 04/03/2021 15:34

All the best for your scan tomorrow @Stella212 I hope it gives you the reassurance you need. Like others have said, loss of symptoms is not a reliable sign.

justanotherneighinparadise · 04/03/2021 15:36

I would want to get that checked out I think as I have had that happen and it wasn’t good news for me unfortunately. Can you book a private scan?

Hannah295 · 04/03/2021 15:54

My symptoms came and went at that point too. Wasn't really until my second trimester that I started to actually "feel" pregnant

Stella212 · 04/03/2021 15:56

Thanks for your reply @TulesDana. Yes, I'm constantly checking in to see if I 'feel' pregnant but there just isn't anything anymore. Happy to hear you went on to have three healthy pregnancies :)

@marplemead thank you. I am hoping for the best but planning for the worst.

@justanotherneighinparadise I'm sorry to hear it happened to you. Yes, I've booked a scan for tomorrow. I guess I'll know more after then.

For a lot of the first trimester I had really fluctuating symptoms, some times I’d have none for 4-5 days and they would also really vary day to day when I did have symptoms. And then I got sickness and it stayed until about 16 weeks 🤢 so I would say try not to worry as much as you can (easier said than done)
Like others have said don’t rely on symptoms to tell you if everything’s okay, if you’ve got no pain or bleeding that’s always a good sign.
Hope all goes well at your scan x

mummywantstobeslim · 04/03/2021 16:10

My physical symptoms like sore boobs, cramps etc have always gone at around 8 weeks. When I had nausea with my dd it went about 14 weeks. Please don't worry. It's completely normal.

justanotherneighinparadise · 05/03/2021 16:00

Hope everything went okay OP ♥️

Thefaceofboe · 05/03/2021 16:04

Just thought I'd do a quick update in case anyone comes across this thread looking for hope. My scan on Friday showed a little embryo measuring 6.2mm and with a beating heart! I couldn't believe it! I had a further viability scan at my IVF clinic today and it's still there and has grown to 8.2mm! As everyone on this thread has said - a loss of symptoms does not necessarily mean the worst. Since the weekend my nausea has returned and is so far staying put! So it's very true that symptoms can fluctuate. Xx

ag92 · 09/03/2021 10:58

@Stella212 this is wonderful news! Yeah exactly - symptoms can fluctuate and some people get lots of symptoms and some people don't!

justanotherneighinparadise · 09/03/2021 11:14

Yay!!!! Fantastic news xxx

DollyParton2 · 09/03/2021 11:55

Great news x

Stella212 · 09/03/2021 14:24

Thanks everyone Smile just hoping it hangs around and keeps growing! Xx

Great news! To further confirm for anyone reading through this thread and needing reassurance, my symptoms also disappeared at 6 weeks and never came back. I'm 13 weeks and baby was bouncy with strong heartbeat at 12 week scan last week. All the best!

Folklore9074 · 09/03/2021 15:41

Just stumbled across this post, and I literally could have written it myself. I'm 6+6 today and my symptoms disappeared at 6+2. Its an IVF pregnancy and my viability scan is Thursday and I'm prepared for the worst as I just do not feel pregnant anymore. Thanks for updating @Stella212 all the best Flowers
