Total loss of symptoms at 6 weeks - is it all over?

Hiya :)

I am currently 6+3 with my first pregnancy and over the last couple of days my symptoms have completely disappeared. Since testing positive my boobs had been really sore and swollen. I began feeling sick about a week ago and I'd had some mild cramping/pulling feelings in my lower abdomen.

However, over the last 2-3 days all these symptoms have faded to nothing and now I feel completely normal. I conceived via IVF and I have severe endometriosis; I just feel so sad that this might be over before it even got started.

I have a private scan booked tomorrow but I am bracing myself for the worst.

Does anyone have any positive stories of losing symptoms and going on to have a healthy pregnancy? Xx

@Folklore9074 I've just seen your post and I'm really hoping your viability scan went well. IVF is a bloody rollercoaster and infertility/subfertility takes such a toll on people's lives. Wishing you all the best x

@Mumandbabies12 thank you so much for sharing positive stories such as these are exactly what women want to read when they are worried. Given that there's nothing we can do to control the situation, reading about the positive experiences of others makes the waiting a little easier. I'm very happy that your pregnancy is progressing well x

@Stella212 We brought the scan forward a day or two because I was spotting quite a bit. I was convinced I was miscarrying. Went absolutely fine though, saw a tiny heartbeat on the screen and the baby was the right size in the right place. I asked about symptoms and my doctor said not to worry about it, symptoms don't mean much and also that spotting happens quite a bit in early pregnancy, particularly in IVF pregnancies like mine. Maybe they were just trying to calm me down but its worked! I'm focusing on relaxing and concentrating on getting to 12 weeks now. Hopefully this will give a little reassurance to anyone else 'panic searching' like I was at six weeks.

Hi everyone. I know this thread is quite old but I’m internet searching as I’m panicking!! I had a missed miscarriage back in February I had no symptoms at all until the day before I was suppose to go for a private scan at 9weeks I started bleeding turns out nothing had developed from 4/5weeks! I had no cramping or anything I just remember my breasts stopped hurting at some point. I’m not 6weeks pregnant and again my breasts have stopped hurting! They’ve been a tiny but tender from me finding out but never anything major but today they’ve not been hurting at all, Iv had no pains in my stomach or anything but I do have a dull ache in the bottom on my back :/ I’m managed to get into the early pregnant unit for a scan on Sunday so I’m a nervous wreck 😩

@Ttcmummy12 oh I'm sorry to hear you're feeling so stressed and I'm sorry for your earlier loss. I know everyone is different but I had sore boobs for a few days and then never had them again! I'm 37wks now and I can categorically state that my boobs have not been sore at all since about 5wks. You've done what you can in booking an early scan so as easy as it is to say, just take each day as it comes until Sunday. I have everything crossed for you and I'm sure this time will be totally different. Although I completely understand your worry. Xx

Aw lovely congratulations so happy everything went ok for you! - I on the other hand went for an early scan and only a gestational sac and yolk sac was visible no fetal pole Iv got to go back in a week to re rescanned, she said I was measuring 6 weeks and wasn’t helpful at all really just said sometimes we can see fetal pole but today we couldn’t! I asked her for the measurement or my gestational sac and when Iv researched it says with the measurements I’m only around 5.5weeks so could be just too early to see anything. But I’m expecting the worse! Hate been a woman everything is so stressy!

Hi Everyone, I am also experiencing the same. I am approx 6 weeks 1 day with my first pregnancy, following my positive test I had really sore boobs, but the last couple of days this has completely gone and I feel relatively normal (other than a bit more tired than usual) I'm really worried that the lack of symptoms could mean the worst, this thread has given me some hope though! I have a scan booked in next week, going to be the lo gest wait ever!

@letshope Scan was all fine, baby's heartbeat was pumping away and I'm now 12 weeks 2 days! I think it's completely normal for symptoms to come and go, I have experienced this throughout. Stay positive, sending you lots of love x

@Npv2 thank you so much for getting back to me. Really has helped me. My anxiety has been out of control this week, never ever felt anything like it before. I've gone from feeling pregnant, bloated and sore boobs last weekend and 6 weeks to feeling normal now at 6+5.... bar this awful anxiety that's somethings wrong = because of my lack of symptons!! Visous circle!

I have a scan booked Thursday so I'll be 7 +4 by then so 🤞 everything is ok and I'm just one of the lucky ones with hardly any symptoms. So so so nervous though as I've had 1mc and 1mmc in the last 12months, so praying this is my 🌈🌈 xxxx

I am so happy to have found this thread after trawling through so many trying to find some other people going through this, it’s given me a shed of hope after a very dark day!

I’m on second FET of IVF, my first one ended in missed miscarriage discovered at 7 weeks, embryo was only 5 week size, no pole, sac empty. I lost symptoms around that time but was still hopeful even though it had been accompanied by cramping.

Today I’ve had same loss of symptoms as before, woke up with no sickness but all last week I was reaching desperately for biscuits and lettuce every five minutes, today nothing. I’ve had cramping and light bleeding earlier on, it stopped when I took my progesterone dose.

I guess there is just no way of knowing what’s going on until I go for a scan, was too exhausted and upset to go anywhere today, just wanted to curl up and sleep, which I did. Having a bath now and trying to lift my mood so I can eat something!

I found some hope and comfort in reading the above stories and am now just hoping and praying. Thank you.

If you've managed to have a scan then I really hope you've had good news. Loss of symptoms is so worrying but like you've said, there's no way of knowing what's going on as symptoms are so unreliable! But as they're the only things we've got to go on in the early days so it's understandable why we focus on them so much.

I had a scan last Sunday, a week after my symptoms had stopped. Weirdly they came back after a few days but even so the scan at 7 weeks showed no heartbeat and the embryo was only 5w 6 days in size. I’m doing the horrid week long wait for a second scan before I know for certain but it’s not looking good unfortunately.

I would like to try and figure out what it is that happens inside me at this time -I had the same symptoms and miscarried on the same day of pregnancy twice now. Just as I’m about to turn 6 weeks! I had IVF both times and worried that this will affect all of the embryos we have frozen!

Currently 17 weeks and I still not having pregnancy symptoms no sickness, no sore breasts nothing. Baby is growing well I just lack any symptoms I had with my other 3.

@Bubbleseed82 I am so sorry.

Have you discussed next steps with your clinic? I know there are tests like ERA, EMMA and ALICE they can do but I don't know much about what they involve.

I really hope you get some answers. Infertility is such an all-consuming and emotional experience. Thinking of you.

It turns out I was having a molar pregnancy. The first place where I went to be scanned didn’t pick up on this, they just noted an ‘area of haemorrhage’
Went to the hospital a week later and they gave me an emergency operation to remove it all. I have to be checked weekly for up to 6 months until they’re sure all the rogue tissue is gone, then can think about trying again!
It’s a bummer but at least it isn’t a common affliction!

im a anxious wreck! I had a missed miscarriage end of may this year I found out in my 12 week scan 😞 I had my period 16th July till 22nd July. I then found out on 16th august 2023 that I’m pregnant again but could not shed any happiness as I’m petrified! 2 days later 18th august I got a letter from charring cross hospital saying they are sorry to hear about my molar pregnancy and I now need testing etc etc obviously I was besides myself highly freaking out and tears enough to form a river.. I was booked in for a early transvaginal scan I was between 4-5 weeks had a healthy sack and yolk I then had to return 10 days later for another transvaginal scan and since this scan I have freaked out completely there has been progression a little embryo was seen measuring 6 weeks but baby is measuring small at 2.9mm and no heartbeat was detected 🫣 I’m booked in this coming Monday 18th for yet another scan to see if progressed and if a heartbeat shows. I have lost all symptoms today but didn’t have many to begin with im just petrified and don’t no what to think. My partner thinks it’s positive as there has been progression from last scan but it broke me hearing the words no heartbeat detected and need a second opinion. I’m preying that on Monday baby has grown and there’s a heartbeat. Any of you ladies had a similar story and a positive outcome. I’m scared I’m going to have another missed miscarriage again or molar regrow…
