Anyone else overdue?
I'm 5 days overdue now, and feeling so drained!
This is my 3rd child,
DS1 was 7 days late, DS2 was 3 days late. Obviously I know he'll arrive when his ready but just feeling flat 😩

BurningBenches · 04/03/2021 10:54

@bubblybon20 I'm only 25+5 with my 5th but I know how you feel.
Dd1 was induced at 42wks
Dd2 was 9days late
Dd3 was induced at 42wks (was expecting to be over but less than 9days)
DS was induced at 40wks due to size (big)

So there is every chance that I'll be induced again with this one, I'm 41 so it will be by 41wks unless induced for size again.

Every time I think, I know I'll go over, I'll be ok about it this time, I won't be disappointed. But I still am because I am huge, my babies are always huge, I am ready psychologically (because the amount of mums who told me if I just relaxed, was busy, had sex, ate pineapples, tweaked my nipples, ate a curry etc) And the phone calls/texts etc.

Anyway in better news, my 3rd labour was my quickest and easiest.

Good luck!!!

bubblybon20 · 04/03/2021 13:10

@BurningBenches that's crazy isn't it! You get told so often they'll come earlier each time, defo not the case! 😂
I also have fairly big babies, being 8lb 3, & 8lb 8! 😂😂
I have lost all interest in text messages, sounds harsh but I'm drained, and daily spam of texts is not helping 😂😂😂😂

I feel you OP! I'm 10 days overdue here... 🤷🏼‍♀️ they will arrive when they arrive but it is a little frustrating. Trying to stay positive though xx

bubblybon20 · 04/03/2021 16:20

@TallulahTaboo ooooo! 😩 hope you're doing ok!
Yes definitely just got to keep positive!x

Hiya I'm not due until the 10th March but my other pregnancies i have never given birth on due date always 7 days or more over!!!! I'm trying for this Bubba to arrive on time and behave but then again its just an estimation from scan isn't it or date of last period.

Hope everyone is well
🙂

I was due today. I am pretty miserable. I spent my entire pregnancy hoping she would come early.

KB13 · 05/03/2021 11:51

I was due yesterday, had a sweep and midwife said she would be incredibly surprised if I went into labour anytime soon.....just the pep talk you want when you have literally had enough! This is number 3 for me, induced at 37 weeks with 1st and 2 days overdue with 2nd. I was so down after my appointment that I sent my daughters to my parents for the night and today just so I could have a break and some time to pull myself together again :(

BurningBenches · 05/03/2021 13:44

@kb13, I can totally understand that. With dd2 (my only spontaneous labour of 4) I had a sweep on the Friday at 40+5, and the MW said no chance of labour happening soon and gave me a big talk about how lucky we are to be able to be induced and some women don't go into labour etc and booked my induction.
So I went home and spent the weekend crying. I'd gone to 42 with number 1 and had a horrible induction, I just felt a failure. Woke on the Monday and felt like my waters had gone so went to midwife unit. They hadn't but another MW gave me another sweep and said she wouldnt be surprised if I went into labour imminently. This was about 10am. By midday i was having regular contractions, and she was born the following morning.

Dd3, the toad, resisted all sweeps and was induced at 42wks.

But just wanted to give a little hope that a cervix can change reasonably quickly. Good luck xx

KB13 · 05/03/2021 14:05

Thank you for that @BurningBenches I’ve had my bloody show today and so far today have had 3 contractions so my parents are keeping the girls for another night and me and my husband are going to go for a long walk to try and get things going. I really want to avoid induction because I don’t want to be away from my daughters for too long. So fingers crossed I’m in early labour but I still can’t help but feel like it’s not going to happen. Which is mental because he will be here within the next 2 weeks but it’s just so difficult to see that when you pass your due date 😅

BurningBenches · 05/03/2021 14:26

@kb13 it really really is. Even though my rational mind knows full term is 37-42 weeks there seems to be a feeling of failure when you go over. Like the ideal is to deliver some time between 39-40wks.

With my second I went to hospital at 2am and she was born 8am and we were home by teatime.

Dd3 and 4 the labours were shorter but was away about 24hrs. Which isn't too bad and was mainly because of the time they started me off rather than the length of labour. (And with DC4 I waited 6hrs for an epidural as I didn't want the drip without it)

Ideally I'd like this one to slip out in two easy painless pushes in my bedroom at 39+6 but I cannot see that happening 😂

KB13 · 05/03/2021 15:15

@BurningBenches That would be the ideal birth 🤣🤣

I’ve been praying for a sneeze and he’s out kind of birth

swaziscot · 05/03/2021 15:30

I’m due on Monday and I’m feeling so big and sore and tired.
From when your first two were born it sounds like you don’t go late past a week so fingers crossed you’ll go into labour very soon!

Mahdia · 05/03/2021 16:44

Oh ladies! I'm feeling yous. I came back from a walk and all the phone calls and messages to check if I had the baby or why I didn't answer calls were so many 🙃 I'm due on Wednesday 10th but because I've been having lots of braxton hicks for a while, its like cry wolf. I keep thinking this is it! Kkkk I don't even believe myself now... 😬

bubblybon20 · 05/03/2021 16:51

@KB13 I actually feel jealous you've been given a sweep on your due date! Lol!
When I seen the midwife last which was 39+4 she didn't want to give me a sweep, nor has she mentioned about giving me one on the 9th! She just said that we'll sit and book a date to be induced!! 😩 I haven't had any signs what so ever, no show, nothing! So I think things sound really positive for you!

@swaziscot @Mahdia fingers crossed you both have some movements towards labour soon! It's the messages that drive me mad, I know people care ect, but at the moment I feel like I'm actually disappointing people with me "sorry still not here" replies! 😂😂😂😂

OP posts:
Mahdia · 05/03/2021 17:18

@bubblybon20
Its true 👍 hopefully they'll all soon make an appearance sooner rather than later Grin
Pelvic girdle pain is a nightmare though in the night or if I've been sitting for long and I try and do sudden movements.
I've been a bit naughty and taken 1 teaspoon of castor oil last night!!!! I was so scared I would be woken up by contractions (even though that was the point) but I've only had a scare of braxton hicks nothing else no show or dramatic waters breaking!!! I think when we try and make ourselves too busy of thinking about birth or labour they'll give us a surprise visit these cheeky babies eh!!!!!! Cheek of them... Grin👶

UnCoffreDor · 06/03/2021 10:26

I didn't think I'd be joining the club, but here I am.. 3 days overdue. I had a sweep yesterday around 12pm, then a couple of hours later had the bloody show, and other than the odd twinges, nothing much. I've got another appt with the mw on Tuesday, but really hoping baby will be there before then!!

swaziscot · 06/03/2021 11:02

@Mahdia I have the pelvic girdle pain too. I’ve pretty much forgotten how it feels to be able to move normally around! It’s this ordeal when I stand up after sitting for a while!! My kids are used to me going “owww... ok just a minute guys!” as well as shouting ow when the baby kicks me!
I was thinking how crazy it is how when we get to our due date there is potentially still another TWO WEEKS before we have our babies. That must be the longest two weeks ever. At least this time I am booked in for an induction at 40+2. I’m a bit nervous about it though so I’m kind of hoping I’ll go into labour the day before.
Hope everyone is doing ok this morning!

bubblybon20 · 06/03/2021 11:32

@swaziscot least you know that you won't be going over 40+2 which is reassuring! But hopefully baby makes and appearance for you before hand!

Still here, 41 weeks today 😩 feel so so heavy! There's literally no words to describe everything 😂 & still no signs at all! 😂

OP posts:
bubblybon20 · 06/03/2021 11:32

@UnCoffreDor fingers crossed we both go into labour before Tuesday!🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

KB13 · 06/03/2021 13:08

Hey ladies, now 2 days overdue and I’ve been having contractions every 15/20 minutes since 1am. I am beyond exhausted, it just doesn’t seem to be progressing time wise but the contractions are strong😭 I’m going to ring the hospital again in a bit and hope they take pity on me and let me go in to be checked. I’ve never had a long drawn out labour so this is all new to me 😬

dinosaur17 · 06/03/2021 14:13

@KB13 Hope things get moving quickly for you. I’ve still got a week left until due date but have been having period pain all day and intense BH for a good week now. Probably could have coped until next week if the midwife hadn’t told me she didn’t expect to see me at my 38 week appointment!

@bubblybon20 My DS was 7 days late and DD 3 days late so feel your frustration! Hope you’re not waiting much longer

BurningBenches · 06/03/2021 15:55

Ooh good luck @kb13

KB13 · 06/03/2021 16:01

Still the same. I’ve now come into triage to be monitored as baby isn’t moving as much. I heard that 3rd babies were the ones to watch, how correct were they 😬

TallulahTaboo · 06/03/2021 16:24

@KB13 Good luck!! Hopefully baby will be here soon.

I'm now 12 days overdue, FTM so I kind of expected it. But I have tried everything... long walks, spicy food, pineapple, clary sage, sex.... nothing worked. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Booked in for an induction on Monday now 🙈.... in a way as much as I didn't want one, the overall feeling of finally meeting my baby is keeping me positive!

Good luck to everyone still overdue 🤍

KB13 · 06/03/2021 17:02

Just been seen by the doctor baby is all good and I’m 4/5cm dilated. Waiting to be given a room and then it will be please give me an epidural so that I can get some sleep. I’m now absolutely petrified of giving birth again 😬
