Same sickness, same gender?

I’m pregnant and my morning sickness is dreadful. It’s always dreadful but this time it’s exactly the same as it was with my son last year. (I have a baby due in my sons exact due date exactly one year on..). Anyway I’m convinced it’s another boy. What are your thoughts? Same pregnancy same gender?

I had the same sickness in both my pregnancies and different genders! I was convinced my second was going to be the same as my first but nope!

Ritamarie85 · 12/02/2021 23:03

@NC866 oh really! I will be shocked if it’s not a boy. I even hate the same foods. Which is everything...Grin

I have twins too. Boy/girl. But can’t compare the sickness as that was completely off the scale.

Interested to see!

I had terrible sickness with all four of mine but only bad enough to be on a drip in hospital with my daughter. My gran always said sickness is worse with girls, but I don’t know if there’s any science to support that.

Lollypop4 · 12/02/2021 23:05

I had HG with all 4 DC,2 boys 2girls.
DS 1 , I was hospitalised.
The other 3 were all exactly same.
Hope you feel better soon

Pregnancy symptoms are not dictated by the sex of the baby. In terms of growing an entire human, the sex of the child is an incidental detail like the colour of the eyes. I know it’s nice to guess when the process seems so natural yet so weirdly alien! But it’s all old wives tales.

Ritamarie85 · 12/02/2021 23:15

Interesting ladies! Will post a nub photo next week. Another thing I have no idea about but always seems fun when people guess Grin

I was fine with dd, breezed through preganncy.

This time, terrible nausea, lost 2 stone, bedbound. And its another girl 😂

Amberheartkitty · 15/02/2021 21:14

3 girls felt really sick. Felt great with my son no sickness at all

PFin · 15/02/2021 21:15

I disagree, ive had near 2 identical pregnancies so far first was a boy and this 2nd due in 12 weeks is a girl, unless told wrong lol! Good Luck!

Alicenwonderland · 15/02/2021 21:19

Four pregnancies, first three boys, last a girl. The sickness was awful with the first but better with each pregnancy. There was honestly no difference in the pregnancies other than being older and more exhausted the older I got!

kittlesticks · 15/02/2021 21:20

I had no sickness with my DS but I assumed that was because I was on a prescribed medication to help support the pregnancy as it is also known to help with nausea.
I needed the same medication with my second pregnancy but oh my god the sickness was so bad. I felt so ill right up to around 20 weeks. I thought at the time, if this isn't a girl then wtf is it Blush
And yes it was DD Grin

Ritamarie85 · 17/02/2021 01:52

Thanks for your replies ladies. I’m still 100 convinced it’s another boy because sickness and food aversions are exactly the same. Should find out after my 12 week ultrasound this week. Will keep you posted Smile

I’ve got 3 girls. And sickness has been fairly different with all. Sorry! Especially 1st and last, was really sick with most recent.

Milkand2sugarsplease · 17/02/2021 10:13

I had no nausea whatsoever with DS and then this time round felt grim most of the day and evening up until 11 weeks or so. Was convinced it had to be a DD because it was such a different experience - but no, another DS in there.

Seeline · 17/02/2021 10:15

I had bad sickness with both mine - one of each!

Alsonification · 17/02/2021 10:18

I have one of each. Had exactly the same sickness (only got sick once on each of them & brushing my teeth made me gag) and exactly the same cravings (anything flavoured orange & cornflakes bizarrely)

LBTM · 17/02/2021 10:22

My symptoms were really similar in my 1st and 3rd pregnancies - 1 girl, 1 boy. I was much less sick with my 2nd, a boy.

Doublechins · 17/02/2021 10:23

I have 4 boys and was only ever sick with one of them. My other symptoms were quite different too.

espressoontap · 17/02/2021 10:49

I felt exactly the same in both pregnancies - same sickness, tiredness, cravings and aversions. Everything was spot on, I carried the same and 'bloomed'. First pregnancy was a boy, second a girl. Was convinced DD would be a boy Smile

lovelsa · 17/02/2021 11:05

My first pregnancy was pretty easy - I had nausea, but it wasn't bad. My second was horrible - I needed meds from the GP because I couldn't keep anything down. I was convinced it was a girl (old wives tales say bad sickness means a girl). Nope. Both boys. It's just how your body handles the hormones!

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 17/02/2021 12:52

For me it depended on how well I got. So I have 9 children. With the boys sickness stopped at about 15 weeks and I felt generally ok as long as I ate regularly. With the girls sickness didn't stop until 20/22 weeks and I still felt nauseous most of the time even when eating regularly and what I could actually eat without feeling horrific was very small.

Ritamarie85 · 19/02/2021 20:12

So same sickness same gender was not true for me. It’s a girl Flowers
