Pregnant after 2 miscarriages

Hi everyone! Just kinda wanting some reassurance and anyone else on the same journey. I have one child who is 2, I had a miscarriage in July and then again in November. I just found out on Sunday that I'm pregnant again! My Gp has said I will be prescribed progesterone this time round, and have also started 75mg of Aspirin. Hoping this one goes well. I am very very anxious!

Anyone else in the same boat or got some positivity for me?

Me. Pregnant after 4 mc.

Have been out on progesterone and taking 150mg aspirin since 1dpo.

So far so good, just over 7 weeks.

Good luck and congratulations!!

Congratulations! Good luck.

I'm on pregnancy #10, I've had 5 children from pregnancies 1, 4, 6 & 7 so far. My second time being pregnant after 2 mc's, I am 12+3 and have my dating scan this afternoon. I wasn't prescribed progesterone and not advised to take aspirin either. I've had very strong symptoms this time which has been reassuring, can't wait to see how things are going in there (felt like a lifetime of a wait for scan day).

Fawn68 · 09/02/2021 09:09

@Chelyanne this is lovely news, congratulations! The progesterone is because I always spot so early on in pregnancy then I seem to miscarry, so hopefully it's just to help things. Great you have strong symptoms, I have none really yet just on and off nausea and bloating but I know it's too early for me still. Good luck for today. Let me know how it goes x

Hey, I'm in a similar boat. I have a 5 year old DS and have had 6 MC's since having him. Now should be around 7 weeks but had some bleeding last week and had a scan at EPU that said I was more like 5 and to come back this week. It's been a scary time. It's all so stressful isn't it! Sending lots of good vibes

kdd1980 · 09/02/2021 09:30

Forgot to add I am also on the progesterone and aspirin since last weeks scan

Chelyanne · 09/02/2021 09:37

@Fawn68 thank you. Hopefully it helps your lo to stick.

I started with nausea and extreme fatigue before getting a strong bfp a couple of days after af due. I'd had a very faint 2nd line almost a week before af was due but dismissed it as an evap. I have wondered if it could be twins again with the stronger symptoms, I felt pretty normal with the last which was confirmed as a singleton on a private scan at 8wk (lost at 9). Of course the lack of symptoms could have just been down to it not thriving as it should have. I'll let you know how the scan goes.

Fawn68 · 09/02/2021 13:22

@kdd1980 sorry to hear this! When are you due to go back? I hope you get good news ! Constant worry.

kdd1980 · 09/02/2021 13:55

@Fawn68 thank you. I'm due to go back on Thursday morning so not much longer to wait now. Had a bit of bleeding again this morning which is a worry but we shall see I suppose. How are yup feeling today?

Fawn68 · 09/02/2021 14:00

@kdd1980 hopefully it's maybe just irritation and not from the baby. Have they gave you any insight as to what might have caused your miscarriages?

I'm feeling good, just extremely tired, bit bloated, waves on and off every now and then of nausea but that's been it. Tested this morning and got good lines, period was due today! But I know that doesn't matter as I've been here before. It's just on your mind every minute isn't it!

kdd1980 · 09/02/2021 14:16

@Fawn68 oh I know it is so hard to focus on anything else! Seems like such a long time before 12 weeks too doesn't it.

I'm hoping all will be ok but the fact I was measuring 10 days behind worries me a lot as that is how one of my MMC's started. We shall see I suppose. Yes I had all the relevant tests and even some surgery and steroid treatments etc and they didn't find a reason for it. I'd pretty much given up so this is a surprise that this has happened.
Hoping for 7th time lucky Grin

Fawn68 · 09/02/2021 14:21

@kdd1980 as you say 7th time lucky I have everything crossed for you! Wonder would the progesterone be causing some bleeding as I've read before some people have a lot of spotting on it because it can irritate your cervix? Maybe your dates are out by 1-2 days then the scan is maybe only really 7 days behind which can be normal. My first miscarriage it happened before I even got to EPU then the 2nd everything was perfect, great heartbeat and then literally 30 mins later I started to miscarry! You just don't know. X

kdd1980 · 09/02/2021 14:33

@Fawn68 yes maybe it could be the progesterone, that's a good point. I had it last time too but I can't remember bleeding but every pregnancy is different.

Oh wow! You have really been through it too haven't you. My fingers are firmly crossed for you too. Do you have any appointments booked yet?

Glendaruel · 09/02/2021 14:40

Congratulations. I've had two miscarriages and told myself it might not happen for me. Currently sitting with my 10 week old daughter sleeping on my chest, so I was wrong to think that!!! Pregnancy was hard as you know it can go wrong but when it works it's magic!!!

Chelyanne · 09/02/2021 14:53

@Fawn68 Hi. Had my scan, just one very wriggly baby in there. Moved my due date forward so I'm 13wk today! Absolutely thrilled this little one is doing well.

I wish all ladies on here the best of luck Smile

BlueberryPancake21 · 09/02/2021 14:59

@fawn68 I had 2MCs in 2020 and I'm 37 as well so age wasn't on my side but now 32 weeks into PG no3. There are definitely positive stories out there! I was given progesterone until 16 weeks and had a tiny amount of spotting at about 5/6 weeks which they thought was irritation due to the progesterone. It's not without its worries but everything is looking good and LO is kicking away. Good luck with your pregnancy!

Fawn68 · 09/02/2021 15:05

@kdd1980 Stay positive No appointments yet, after my last miscarriage EPU told me to contact them directly next time I get a positive test, so I think they will probably see me in the next 2 weeks.

@Glendaruel Congratulations that's amazing news! Hope all is going well x

@Chelyanne Congratulations what brilliant news I'm sure you are so relieved! Hope all goes well x

@kdd1980 how did your app go?

OP posts:
kdd1980 · 11/02/2021 14:36

@Fawn68 I had my follow up scan this morning. They found a little heartbeat and it was measuring one more week ahead so has progressed (I’ve been here before and it’s not ended well so that’s not as reassuring as it sounds sadly). They also found a Subchorionic Hematoma which is a bleed. They can’t give me any conclusive answers at this stage so I need to wait another week and go back again next Thursday! I may go insane in the mean time!! How are you doing?

Fawn68 · 11/02/2021 14:47

@kdd1980 oh no I'm sorry you haven't come away feeling more reassured. I know what you mean, that happened me with my most recent Mc, heard the heart beat and within 30 mins I started to miscarry. At least you know that's where your bleeding has been coming from, and hopefully it won't cause any issues. The waiting is just awful 😔 it's all you think about!

I'm not too bad, just very anxious and constantly checking for blood. Started progesterone today so hopefully it helps things along! Then I have an early scan at EPU on 3rd March x

kdd1980 · 11/02/2021 15:03

@Fawn68 it's all so cruel isn't it. It will be another long week for me.

I keep trying to figure out why I would be 6 weeks rather than 7.4 as the due date calculators say. The lady at the hospital said it is probably just a late ovulation but that late? It seems like a big difference in days. I'm driving myself mad with it all.

I'm glad you are on the progesterone and that your scan is booked. Let's keep our fingers firmly crossed for some happy endings this time.

X

Fawn68 · 11/02/2021 15:47

@kdd1980 maybe if you ovulated a few days later, then implanted later also that could probably add up. It's torment and I really do know how you must be feeling right now. Hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel x

OP posts:
kdd1980 · 11/02/2021 20:30

@Fawn68 I hope it does add up! Time will tell i guess. We've just got to take it one day at a time really.

Fawn68 · 12/02/2021 08:55

Thank you! I think I just need a lot of reassurance and hearing some positive stories 🙈
