Pregnant after 2 miscarriages

Hi everyone! Just kinda wanting some reassurance and anyone else on the same journey. I have one child who is 2, I had a miscarriage in July and then again in November. I just found out on Sunday that I'm pregnant again! My Gp has said I will be prescribed progesterone this time round, and have also started 75mg of Aspirin. Hoping this one goes well. I am very very anxious!

Anyone else in the same boat or got some positivity for me?

Congratulations OP Flowers

My first two pregnancies ended in mc. My second miscarriage was a missed miscarriage and happened this time last year. I remember being so upset and thinking that DH and I might never get to be parents but I'm currently sat with my 24 day old DS sleeping on my chest and feel so grateful.

My pregnancy after my losses was full of anxiety. But I think that's completely normal given our past experiences; try to stay positive.

Good Luck and Best Wishes x

Thank you @Lottie917

Oh bless I'm sure that was very difficult, I am forever thankful that my first pregnancy was successful and I have a 2 year old!

Congratulations on your little one, I am sure you are just utterly besotted! Thank you, just feel like I'm constantly checking for blood, or analysing my symptoms even though I'm just over 4 weeks which is early x

@BlueberryPancake21 congrats hun. What does the progesterone and aspirin do to help. I mc 2 weeks ago and I want to try again so just asking just in case of this option.
Also how long did it take you to fall pregnant after the mc? Did you try straight away or wait for a few periods. Thank you

Fawn68 · 13/02/2021 08:35

@Lizbb sorry to hear about your MC! I know this message has been directed at someone else but I'll answer you my story. The aspirin is meant to thin the blood and increase blood flow to the placenta, my fertility doctor told me to take this as I had 2 MC's. The progesterone was also prescribed to me as I always spot from very early on and this was incase I had low progesterone which was causing the miscarriages. With my first miscarriage I started to try again straight away and fell pregnant 3 months after, with the second miscarriage I then was very ill for a few months and we started to try again in Jan and I fell pregnant first month trying.

Good luck for your next cycle x

@Fawn68 thanks for your message. I'm 36 so just checking all options. Did you wait for your period to come back before ttc after mc? I was told to wait for 1st period due to healing of lining etc
With u falling pregnant after 3 months after your first mc did the pregnant reach it's full term?
Is it better for the gp to do test before prescribing the aspirin etc or it doesnt matter for the body either way? Thank you

Fawn68 · 13/02/2021 08:48

@Lizbb yes I did wait! I have one DS who is 2 and had no miscarriages previous to him, he was full term I've then since had 2 miscarriages and I am now on a new pregnancy, only 4+4 now so very early days! Well from all the information I have read it seems that taking 75mg of aspirin doesn't cause any harm, but I'm sure there is conflicting stories. Maybe best speaking to your GP for advice!
