Second births

Just something to keep me busy while I wait for my second little one to make her appearance...

At what gestation did you go into labour with your second, in comparison to your first?

I’m aware there will be no pattern & everyone has very unique experiences but just out of interest really!

Currently 36 weeks with DC2. DC1 was 13 days overdue but I can't even imagine going that far this time....I feel huge x

I was a week less with my second, 40+10 with DS1, 40+3 with DS2. Labour and delivery was so much quicker and easier too with the second. Put DS1 to bed, he woke the next day to a baby brother and we had cleaned up from the birth too, Good luck 😊

five weeks early with my first. then my second was born on his due date - although i was induced due to a few episodes of reduced movement. my third and fourth were also early (ten days and two weeks).

First was 40+6 (induced)
Second was 41+2
Currently 32 weeks with number 3

Dc1 -40+11 (14hr labour)
Dc2 -40+5 (7hr labour)

D3 -36+4 (1hr 15)

@daisydalrymple I’m due on the 15th. My first was born at 39+4 (with contractions having started at 39+1) so I’m starting to look out for signs although trying not to until due date.

I was induced at 41+6 with my first and had a sweep on my due date with my second, she was born 6 days later after my hind waters broke. Both labours were the same duration but the second was so much easier. 35 weeks with number three so hoping to go on due date!

Two weeks overdue and induced with my first.
Six days overdue and a water birth with my second.

Dc1 was 37+3
Dc2 and Dc3 were both 38+6

Ds1 bang on 39
Ds2 still waiting, just got to 37

DC1 - 40+5
DC2 - 40+13

DC1 - 36+5
DC2 - 39+0

Both spontaneously

Interested too. DD was 38+4 (spontaneous labour). Currently 36+0 with my second, hoping will be similar!

DC1 - 40+5
DC2 - 42

Neither were induced and although they kept me waiting going overdue; both shot out within a couple of hours once things got going!

Following with interest - I'm 39+4 and DC1 was born at 39+1 so I already feel like I'm overdue even though I know I'm not so I'm being unreasonably impatient! So many people assured me that second babies come earlier... And I'm much more uncomfortable than I was with DC1, so I feel like this is the one that I could do with ending sooner rather than later!

DC1 induced at 37w, delivered by lovely calm section at 37+5.
DC2 induced at 41+3, delivered by emergency section the following morning.

DC1 was 35+5
DC2 was 40+4

Both spontaneous labours and straightforward. DC2 popped out like a pea from a pod, nearly had him in the car.

38+6 with DC1
40+3 with DC2 😣

Both spontaneous labours. I blame DC2’s more laid back nature for his tardiness!

First was 41+3
Second was 41+4
Both arrived in their own time narrowly missed being induced
Currently 39+5 with number 3, suspect she might also be late

DS1 came at 39+2
DS2 came at 40+5
DS3 came at 39+2

DS2 is still always late for everything

DS1 39weeks - induced
DS2 37weeks - spontaneous
DS3 40weeks - spontaneous
DD4 - awaiting!
