I am starting this thread a bit early. I tested yesterday at 9dpo and got a faint positive, which was much darker today. My due date would be the 29 September, but this is my second child and my first was super late, so am assuming this will really be an October baby.

@LauEli done!

icecreamsundaesprinkles · 28/01/2021 18:44

Would anyone mind showing me the darkness of their tests? PSA is a faint positive still a positive?

They all look positive to me @icecreamsundaesprinkles. I think this test is the same as the one you have there with the pink Top (freedom test) done at 12 DPO today. Positive clear blue digital yesterday. 😊

Thanks, I've requested to be added to the Facebook group !

Sorry I'm on the app and can't seem to tag but sundae that looks okay to me, I've also been worried mine are very faint - when should your period of arrived?? I don't know when I ovulated but I tested when my period was due and it was such a squinter I could barely see anything!

CharlieBH · 28/01/2021 19:26

@icecreamsundaesprinkles
The first picture where the line is very faint was my first test on Wednesday when I found out. I had to really look at it to see the line! The second one was 5 days later which was loads darker.

A faint line is still a positive! x

@icecreamsundaesprinkles meant to add you can see lines in yours I don't think they are that faint x

Hopefulbride18 · 28/01/2021 20:06

@icecreamsundaesprinkles I wouldn't worry any line is a positive. I've been testing every couple of days to check mine are getting darker Smile

Moonstone12 · 28/01/2021 20:08

@icecreamsundaesprinkles don't worry. I can see lines :)

I always use frer tests and here are my 2. Yesterday's 6 days before period is due and today 5 days before. Some tests are more sensitive than others xx

Can I ask you all a possibly very dumb question about calculating due date? Is the due date calculated pre conception, ie the beginning of your cycle is week 1? So if you actually concieved on the 11th Jan for example, you would already be 4 weeks pregnant?

SenoraSurf · 29/01/2021 10:34

@BrightonR yes so day 1 of bleeding is treated as day 1 of pregnancy beaded on conception of ovulation that month

BrightonR · 29/01/2021 11:48

@Senorasurf Thanks! It weird to be more pregnant than the featus has existed ha

CharlieBH · 29/01/2021 11:53

Is it normal for my first midwife (phone call) appointment to be when I'm around 8 weeks?
It's my first pregnancy so not sure what's normal/ what to expect. I rang my doctor when I first found out I was pregnant as I wasn't sure on dates due to irregular periods. I'm roughly guessing I'm around 5+ weeks due to clear blue test but doctor didn't really say much. So I've rang to book a midwife appointment and my appointment is in just under 3 weeks time - so I could be around 8 weeks pregnant. Is that normal?
I'm so tempted to pay for a reassurance scan more for my peace of mind since I have no idea how far gone I am, but heard mixed reviews from them x

LunaDreams · 29/01/2021 12:19

@CharlieBH I'm roughly 5 weeks and my first appointment is also when I'm 8 weeks. Feels ages away doesnt it?! I am thinking of paying for an early scan too as don't think we will get our first scan until around 12 weeks. I haven't looked at it properly yet though

CharlieBH · 29/01/2021 12:36

@LunaDreams
Yes it feels so long away! Especially when I don't know what to expect and got loads of questions. Me too, don't think I can wait until 12 weeks for the scan!

XSunflower · 29/01/2021 13:25

@CharlieBH I’m 4 weeks today with my first and don’t have a date for my appointment yet! I’ve booked a private scan for when I’m 7 weeks so 3 weeks to go! Trying to break time down so it feels like I’m not waiting as long as I am 😂

LauEli · 29/01/2021 13:56

@CharlieBH yes 8 weeks is usual for your booking appointment 😊 I've got mine on March 1st. Seems ages away so I'm hoping it goes quickly!

icecreamsundaesprinkles · 29/01/2021 17:48

Following on from yesterday I got a digital result ❤️

Yes so first time mums your first appointment with a midwife will be about 8 weeks. Due to covid this maybe over the phone. I know that depends on area though.
You will then have a scan at 12-13 weeks and probably won't see a midwife again until 16 weeks ish.

It will feel like you aren't really being seen but at this early stage there isn't much for the midwives to do. They will however be contactable (they should give you some form of contact details at your booking appointment)

That first booking appointment at 8 weeks is very thorough. They ask about family history, your medical history, they even asked if me and my partner were related lol.
I think they do blood tests around now too? Although I think I had mine done at 10 weeks last time for some reason (I was under the homebirth team so it may have been different)

Every area differs too so try not to get upset if some people get face to face and some don't. (I know that's easier said than done though.

I hope you are all doing well :) I don't feel very pregnant today but I'm not yet 4 weeks and my sickness doesn't normally start until 5-6 weeks. I am however shattered and my boobs are huge! (I only stopped breast feeding 4 months ago too so I think they've just got used to growing massive 😂) xx

Moonstone12 · 29/01/2021 20:28

@icecreamsundaesprinkles yay!!!!

LunaDreams · 29/01/2021 21:39

Thanks for the through response @Moonstone12! I have had it confirmed that my first midwife appointment will be over the phone which is fine. The scan seems so very far way though. I so desperately want to tell people!

Huge congratulations to all the recent BFP-ers...welcome to the October bus :)

Is anyone else finding their sex drive is low or is that just me? 🙈. I think because I still have mild cramping I am so scared it is going to trigger bleeding or more pain. Maybe it is just me being super anxious?!

nellly · 29/01/2021 21:58

My sex drive is low, but the cramping has really eased off the last day or two and now I'm worried, boobs still hurt though so that's good I guess

LauEli · 29/01/2021 23:22

@icecreamsundaesprinkles yay it's so good when it's written in words isn't it! Makes it all more real 😁
