NessyT91 · 22/04/2021 13:24

Thanks ladies @NICK7nick7 @LaurenAB94@Naticle@Daffodil21

I think I might get my GP to do some blood tests next week for reassurance and try to stay away from the tests in the meantime 🙈

Luckyducky2 · 23/04/2021 12:26

Hi @VenusStarr sorry for radio silence, I have been so busy with my wee boys birthday and decorating the house, there are workmen traipsing in and out fitting new flooring now and the house is a riot lol! You must be so excited for your upcoming ivf, the build up to the egg collection is quite exciting/nervewracking!! But you will be fine! I'm not sure im going to do an embryo transfer this month, I'm actually enjoying the break and my mum needs a lot of support just now with going through chemo so I may wait till June as I just don't think I can mentally deal with appointments and traipsing up and down to Epsom, it just all feels a bit much at the moment? My period seems to have gone awol aswell so I think my body is telling me something....slow down woman!! Grin. Keep us posted how you get on!!

Congrats to those with positive tests this month, fingers crossed this is the one! xxx

VenusStarr · 23/04/2021 17:33

That sounds like a good idea @Luckyducky2 I hope your mom is doing well. I'm enjoying the break from ttc and travelling down to Surrey too. The time is flying by, I've already ovulated (which I'm pleased about as my body just went back to normal after the delay with the letrozole last cycle), so af will be here in no time! Hope your cycle settles.

I'm struggling a bit with work planning as I'm just not sure how I'll be feeling after egg collection and we might need an earlier transfer (if we get that far - I am having a lot of anxiety that it might be a bust), I don't want to book things in and then need to cancel.

Hope your little boy's birthday went well :) xx

Jenthsf · 25/04/2021 19:13

Hi ladies. I hope you are all well. So we had our appointment with Dr S and then our review last week, he's put me on the complex plan. I was just wondering for those of you on hydroxychloroquine, how long does it need to build up before ttc? It totally slipped my mind to ask him as my hubby and I have talked about trying around July... Just wanted to double check with you all what he recommends... I wouldn't want to rush trying and for the sake of a month or two the medication wouldn't have its full effect. Thank you in advance xx

VenusStarr · 25/04/2021 20:52

Hi @Jenthsf Dr S said I could start ttc straight away, so I did the loading dose and we started ttc that cycle.
How do you feel now you have your results?

NICK7nick7 · 25/04/2021 20:59

@Jenthsf I would email the nurses and check as I think it can be different for different people. I had to take them for 8 weeks before ttc.

Jenthsf · 25/04/2021 21:10

Thank you both. I think I will email them and double check. @VenusStarr I felt quite optimistic about everything and the way forward. None of the results were a surprise, I have always had a feeling my immune system played a big role in our second trimester losses... High nk cells, high thyroid antibodies and high positive ana result... I have had a few doubting moments though not being able to ever imagine myself carrying another baby to term and not allowing myself to even dream of being able to give my son a brother or sister. I think if it actually happened I would be in disbelief... Trying to take it slowly at the minute... I am also under an endocrinologist as my tsh is high so I have to get bloods taken for her mid may which will also dictate when we try again. Xx

Unicorn9 · 25/04/2021 22:05

Hiya
Could I ask if anyone has done LIT l, Humira and Neupogen and how much it cost? Went to Gorgy and he has suggested some tests to run but trying to figure out what the medication costs would be if any came back positive. Dr S I have left for the nhs referral for now but thank u all for your advice. Much appreciated.

LRL12 · 26/04/2021 03:22

@Jenthsf I also had the loading dose and was able to start TTC straight away, it should say on your plan, x

VenusStarr · 26/04/2021 09:10

Hi @Unicorn9 I haven't used any of those medications, so i don't know the costs. I think a couple of ladies who've posted here have used humira, so hopefully someone will be along soon.
Have you got your tests booked in? X

Unicorn9 · 26/04/2021 09:16

Hi @VenusStarr
I haven’t gotten the booked in yet. I wanted to see what the treatments would be if they came back positive. He told me to do Antibodies test not sure what that is for, leucocyte antibody detection and DQ alpha
And KIR genotyping. I had a zoom call with him and he wasn’t always very clear to hear and he sent the list of tests through after the consult so I don’t really know what medication is used to address any of them. LIT they take your partners white blood cells and inject them into me. I don’t understand why. Something to do with body rejecting the foetus because it’s too close to my own dna or something. In the USA it’s banned so I’m not sure.

greendress789 · 26/04/2021 09:17

Hi @Unicorn9 I'm with Gorgy and have had LIT it's £850 a session. You need at least 2.

Unicorn9 · 26/04/2021 10:43

Hi @greendress789
Is that for both of them or one? Have you had it and did it work or did you have any side effects? We’re u prescribed any other meds? I guess I’m trying to just see roughly how much it could all cost or some of it. Thanks ever so much for answering.

greendress789 · 26/04/2021 10:56

Hi @Unicorn9 it's £850 per session.

Was also prescribed hydroxychloroquine which is £30 I think for 3 months worth.

No idea if it has worked yet as am still having the treatment.

No side effects from LIT just itching arms and it's hurts when they do it but it's over quickly. It's 10 injections in each forearm a month apart😔

I know what you mean about Gorgy being hard to understand over the phone! But he is great and I'm putting my trust in him. If you have any questions you can speak with Sharon at the clinic as she is really knowledgable.

I came to him after reading Is Your Body Baby Friendly and after 6 failed transfers of top quality embryos ( 9 embryos in total ☹️).

HopingForABlessing · 27/04/2021 11:51

Hey girls,
Hope everyone is well.
Just wanted a bit of advice, maybe looking for a bit of reassurance cos I feel so shit today.
I’ve had 3 previous losses all before 6.5 weeks which all started with some spotting, then some cramping, then after a day or 2 it develops into heavier bleeding and I miscarry.
I am 13DPO today. I had a positive test at 10DPO. I started spotting early hours this morning. I have intralipids tomorrow. This is the earliest I’ve ever spotted - I usually spot around 5.5weeks. I’ve emailed in to cancel my intralipids as I don’t see the point. Has anyone else had spotting like this and gone on to have a successful pregnancy? It’s not light pink, it’s a dark pink (but not quite red).
Please advise! Xx

Daffodil21 · 27/04/2021 13:40

@HopingForABlessing I'm sorry you are going through this. I have a similar, but not quite the same experience. I've had 3 MCs and usually I start brown spotting for a week, sometimes longer then it gets heavier and red and then I mc after a few days of red. I had a bleed in this pregnancy around the same time as usual, but it was bright red in my underwear and I had to wear a pad that evening and the morning after, then it stopped. Currently 24 weeks and everything is looking ok. I have no idea what caused the bleed but blood doesn't always = mc. I personally would go for the intralipids, just in case. I was certain my pregnancy was over, but thankfully I was wrong. Hope it all works out ok x

HopingForABlessing · 27/04/2021 13:50

@Daffodil21 thank you so much for your response. Did your spotting with your losses come coupled with cramping? I usually start pink spotting for a couple of days with a bit of cramping which then gets heavier and I have one day of extreme bleeding when I mc.
The only thing that’s giving me the tiniest bit of hope is that this spotting is at 13DPO and thankfully no cramping and also I still have a strong positive test & symptoms.
I’m trying not to keep checking and just trying to rest :(
When did you used to have your spotting/bleed? Xx

Daffodil21 · 27/04/2021 13:58

@HopingForABlessing I never used to really get cramping until it was imminent. Bleeding usually starts around the 6 week mark for me.
When would AF be due? Could you get your doc to do bloods to check your HCG levels are doubling over 48 hours? I did with this pregnancy and the last one when it was too early to get a reliable scan and for me personally it was a good indicator that things weren't going well last time and they were this time x

HopingForABlessing · 27/04/2021 14:12

Yes bleeding usually starts around the 5.5/6 week mark for me too. I’ve never got to the heartbeat stage. AF due day after tomorrow. My docs are really rubbish & I guess this time I’m just so fed up of this happening I’m not even bothering to chase blood tests because I feel like it can’t stop whatever’s meant to happen.
The last few times I’d start going crazy, testing non stop, squeezing my boobs every 5 minutes to check they still hurt, running back and fourth from the EPU. This time I literally just got into bed.
I’m so glad things are progressing well for you!
Is this your first baby? Xx

HopingForABlessing · 27/04/2021 14:12

@Daffodil21

Daffodil21 · 27/04/2021 14:19

@HopingForABlessing yeah I get that. Thinking about it I actually had the HCG bloods before the bleeding started this time, just for peace of mind to get me through to scan stage. When I started bleeding I didn't have a scan until at least a week later. It was just before Christmas so I just thought what will be will be, then had a scan on NYE and all was ok. I really hope all is ok for you too. The waiting really is horrible isn't it.
Thanks, hopefully it will continue. Yes, it's our first. Still a way to go and aware things can still go wrong but trying to enjoy it, but tbh I'm just pretty numb about the whole thing! X

RosieLeeD · 27/04/2021 18:08

Hi All,
I am also under Dr Shehata’s care and I’m due to start a FET cycle this month and prednisolone (25mg) 5 days before the transfer. I am getting my self in a tizz about being on immunosuppressants during the pandemic and was wondering if anyone has any advice or thoughts on the vaccine whilst going through this. My husband wants to delay until I’ve had both doses of the vaccine which probably won’t be for a few months but I’m not sure I can bring myself to do that after having waited so long already. Hope everyone is well.

Rainbowdreams1983 · 27/04/2021 22:08

Hi, I hope you don't mind me joining this thread. I have been following for a while. We saw Dr Shehata 21st April for tests, return 5th May for the results. We have had 5 miscarriages in the past 3 years - one missed miscarriage, 2 chemicals, one PUL and one blighted ovum. My husband and I have had so many tests which all point towards our issues being autoimmune after ruling out so many other factors. We already know from previous tests I have a high level of CD69 cells plus positive ANA antibodies, hashimoto's and reactive hypoglycemia. I was on prednisone from a positive test last pregnancy plus progesterone, aspirin, clexane, vitamin d, thyroxine, progesterone, omega 3, pregnacare. I know Dr Shehata has high success rate and treats you preconception as well as during until 16 weeks which leaves us feeling the most hopeful in a long time. It will be interesting to see what else is found from my blood tests. It's good to talk to others who are going through similar. Xxx

greendress789 · 28/04/2021 09:46

Would anyone mind sharing what their NK cells number is?

Rainbowdreams1983 · 28/04/2021 10:54

Hi greendress789 my CD69 cells were 1.22 which I was told are high, I had these tested under a different consultant, waiting for my blood tests from Dr Shehata. What were your levels? X
