Hi, hope everyone is well and coping. I wanted to share a petition (admin, please delete if not allowed) that is also close to my heart: actions.tommys.org/a/miscarriage-petition?

LaurenAB94 · 07/03/2021 18:38

@Wireless77 i signed and shared that a while ago too.... hopefully some changes will happen xx

Thanks @Wireless77 - I’ve added my signature.

Ladies, for anyone on hydroxy did you have any adverse reactions? I just noticed this past week that I’ve developed a rash on my stomach and chest. It’s not painful or itchy but just looks a bit eeewww. I’ve been on hydroxy about a month now. It’s the only thing I can think of that might be causing the rash. Just curious to see if any of you have had anything similar?

No luck on my first cycle back TTC so I bought some nice undies and a ferti-lily 😂and am hoping for better luck this next one. The rash is a slight mood killer not going to lie but we will persevere!

Hope you’re all keeping well ❤️

VenusStarr · 08/03/2021 13:35

I've signed this one thank you @Wireless77. I actually took part in a research focus group for Tommy's recently, sharing experiences of miscarriage care.

Sorry your first cycle wasn't a positive outcome @NessyT91 I'm on hydroxychloroquine and haven't noticed any side effects really. I have rosacea and I have found it flares more now and the nurses at the clinic said it could be related to the hydroxy.

Good luck with the fertil-lily, I won one in an Instagram competition! But I've been too scared to use it 😂

Halfway through my tww and not feeling that confident really. But we're doing superO next cycle...

Hope you're all OK xx

LaurenAB94 · 08/03/2021 14:17

@NessyT91 no I had no side effects with hydroxychloroquine. Fingers crossed for next month and hopefully the rash will disappear soon

NessyT91 · 08/03/2021 16:26

@VenusStarr thanks so much. I think it must be the hydroxy but I think I’ll keep going with it and hopefully the rash will disappear soon. Good luck with your TWW. It really is the worst part of the cycle but fingers crossed you will have good news in a few days.

@LaurenAB94 thanks so much. Hopefully it will disappear soon!

Luckyducky2 · 08/03/2021 17:14

Hi @NessyT91 I had a weird red itchy patch on the back of my neck when I started taking hydroxy but it cleared up after a few days? Hopefully yours will too.

One great side effect I've noticed is I'm usually massively allergic to make-up and toiletries (its so annoying as my eyes can react so badly they go all puffed up and itchy) and that seems to have gone....im enjoying whacking on all sorts of makeup! 🤣 silver linings and all that?

1 more day till my transfer....the butterflies have started.....very much doubt i will sleep tomorrow night!!!

How is everyone else doing? Xx

VenusStarr · 08/03/2021 17:21

That's exciting @Luckyducky2 sending you best wishes for transfer!

🙏 Thank you @NessyT91 I have to keep reminding myself that we're under the best specialist. I'm so bloody impatient though!!

❤️

NessyT91 · 08/03/2021 18:29

Thanks @Luckyducky2. Wishing you all the best with your transfer ❤️

Minta85 · 08/03/2021 19:16

Hi ladies, Dr S has prescribe hydroxy for me too. Did he tell you to take a loading dose and that you could TTC after a month? I thought hydroxy takes a few months to work but maybe this is quicker after taking the loading dose?

Luckyducky2 · 08/03/2021 19:23

Hi @Minta85 he told me the same, loading dose must get it in your system faster? Still didn't conceive after 7 months on it so we moved to ivf. Good luck!

Thanks @VenusStarr and @NessyT91 just hoping I dont turn into an emotional mess going there on my own. Last time there was a double rainbow 🌈 over the ivf clinic and I thought for sure it was a sign and I was all teary, still bloomin miscarried!! 🤦‍♀️ Am going for ice queen this time, no tears and no looking for good omens lol xx

NessyT91 · 08/03/2021 20:17

@Luckyducky2 that’s really tough having to go on your own. Damn Covid! Absolutely everything crossed that this is your time 🌈

VenusStarr · 08/03/2021 21:45

Hi @Minta85 I took the loading dose and we were able to ttc straight away (no luck yet though).

Sending positive vibes your way @Luckyducky2 ❤️🍀

Tinpo · 09/03/2021 06:50

Good luck @Luckyducky2 - I hope this is your time ❤️ So crap you have to go alone - we really do go through so much in this journey, and covid only makes everything so much tougher. I’m sending lots of good vibes and positivity your way!

LRL12 · 09/03/2021 08:15

Hi @Minta85
I took loading does and fell after 3 months of TTC,
@NessyT91 hope rash is better I didn’t have rash but I had itchy skin & bad head aches for about a week when I first started taking it and now and again I’d still have a itchy day.
Had headaches again when I stopped taking it but was worth it x

LRL12 · 09/03/2021 08:16

Good luck today @Luckyducky2 ❤️

Whyisthistakingsolong · 09/03/2021 09:17

Hi all not posted in a while. Good luck @luckyducky2

I've had good news, 12 week scan with the professor last week went very well, all looking healthy. Can't quite believe I've got to this stage. Hubby wants to tell friends and family but I'm not ready at all.

Have faith in the plan! X

Daffodil21 · 09/03/2021 09:41

Great news @Whyisthistakingsolong !!

The absolute best of luck to you @Luckyducky2

Whyisthistakingsolong · 09/03/2021 11:01

Thanks @daffodil21 how are you getting on? You must be 17 weeks by now? Have you told friends yet? X

Daffodil21 · 09/03/2021 11:38

@Whyisthistakingsolong good thank you, I hope. Yes just over 17 weeks now (can't believe I'm saying that!). I had a midwife app on Friday and she checked the heartbeat which all sounded good, so now I'm counting down until my next scan on Monday. I'm really hoping it won't be long until I can start feeling kicks because I just hate not knowing if everything is ok!

We had told close friends and family quite a while ago actually, and then after we found out the sex (it's a boy 💙) we decided to tell my husband's extended family (I don't really have any).

I'm absolutely huge already though. I've put on 2 stone already and a lady let me jump me toilet queue the other day because she could clearly see I was pregnant (she must have had no doubt at all!). I've been off the pred for a week and a half and I think my moonface is starting to go. Still on the progesterone but going to reduce the dose to 400mg for two weeks, after Monday if all is well.

How are you feeling?

Fully understand your reasons for wanting to hold off telling people though. We're not telling anyone else until after 20 weeks, if we get that far.

Luckyducky2 · 09/03/2021 11:41

Thanks for the kind wishes everyone, transfer not till tomorrow so just getting bag packed and trying to keep myself busy! Just waiting to hear from the embryologist if my embryo has thawed okay, fingers crossed.

@Whyisthistakingsolong I am so happy you've had a great 12 week scan, lovely to hear that the treatment really is working for a lot of women, it gives us all hope!! 💕 Xx

Daffodil21 · 09/03/2021 12:02

@Whyisthistakingsolong sorry for double post! It said it failed so I copied it and then added a little bit extra in the second post, so ignore the first one 😂

VenusStarr · 09/03/2021 12:21

Brilliant news @Whyisthistakingsolong 💕 congratulations

I hope you manage to relax today @Luckyducky2 you've done everything you can ❤️

Good to hear things are progressing well for you and your boy 💙 @Daffodil21

How soon does moonface start? I feel like my cheeks have already filled out and I've only been on them a week! Had a horrendous night, was so bloated, I actually looked about 6 months pregnant (I wish!) I'm assuming it's a combination of the cyclogest and the pred. I actually don't want to test, normally I'm itching by now and have a stash but I don't even have any in the house xx

Daffodil21 · 09/03/2021 12:28

@VenusStarr I think I really started to notice a couple of weeks in. The first time I was horrified was when I had to film a happy birthday video for my friend - I was actually embarrassed about how I looked! Don't worry, it won't stick around. The pred and the progesterone has a LOT to answer for weight-wise but it's all worth it. I looked really pregnant really early on and now I look ridiculous at 17 weeks! I definitely didn't expect not to be able to get my regular trousers over my thighs so early on.

Fingers crossed for you! When are you thinking of testing?
