Not sure about anyone else but obviously atm im trying to gather up what i need for baby, clothes wise, but im having a nightmare. I planned to buy all the basics in the likes of asda/tu etc but trying to get them in the sizes i want is a nightmare!! So much seems out of stock or unable to deliver, please go in store, which you cant do. Even alot of Nexts stuff is delivery in 5 to 6 weeks. Just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue.

Look for local buy and sell groups on Facebook or bundles on eBay. No point in buying much brand new in the first year unless you're planning on three kids - they only wear each thing a handful of times before they've grown out of it, especially in the first six months

Marley20 · 11/01/2021 06:32

Have you tried Primark?

Marley20 · 11/01/2021 06:34

Ignore me, doesn't look like they deliver, for some reason I thought they did x

Tootsieslide · 11/01/2021 06:36

OMG I thought it was just me, im due really soon its my third so havnt been as prepared as I was with my first and even 2nd. I have cot, bedside crib etc.. but its my first girl so have nothing for her and trying to get nice clothes im sizes newborn/up to 1 month has been difficult. I have just over 6 weeks to go and I have ended up ordering clothes from 3 or 4 different places to get the things I need.

I’ve found nutmeg at morrisons has quite a lot of the basics. They do a 7 pack of vests for £7 in all sizes and tonnes of baby grows. They deliver and click&collect

Difficultusername · 11/01/2021 06:57

M&S deliver pretty quick and they've had loads in stock sizes wise. Fabric is really nice on the vests and sleep suits too.

LuckyC27 · 11/01/2021 06:59

My baby is 6 months old now but had the same issue last year in the first lockdown when trying to plan, struggled finding small sizes. I did eventually just took a lot of looking and size filtering on websites x

LJC1234 · 11/01/2021 07:08

Ooooops sorry I totally have ! Please ignore 😩

Baby clothes thou I'm getting all of mine via bundles on Facebook and also eBay

PFin · 11/01/2021 07:09

@Nat4392 im in northern ireland we have a bit less choice we dont have the likes of morrisons or aldi 😑

@Difficultusername oh i never thought of M&S theres a bit more expensive but the quality is good.

@LuckyC27 yeah ive got a bit of time yet just feeling very eager atm to get organised, it being january and the sales probably not helping either january never great for buying clothes.

I had the same issue during the first lockdown it’s a nightmare isn’t it! I had some success with marks and Spencer’s and next. Next said weeks for delivery when I ordered too but found they actually turned up within around 2-3 weeks. I also checked everytime I went to the supermarket for the weekly shop and my daughter did end up with one pack of boys vests as they were the right size 😂

Semele5069 · 11/01/2021 08:16

I bought all mine on eBay. There are lots of barely used bundles on there, plus it comes in the post so you don't have to go out or meet anyone.

Littlegoth · 11/01/2021 08:22

I had this issue when looking March-September. Eventually I managed to get everything in one go from M&S. i got a pack of vests and a pack of baby grows for every age group birth up to a year, plus a couple of extras (long sleeved vests for night, patterned vests for summer). They were a bit pricier than the supermarket packs (which I also got a couple of bits from) but I’ve found they’ve lasted better. I just kept logging on first thing in a morning and trying all the sites - eventually I managed to get just as they’d restocked x

inappropriateraspberry · 11/01/2021 08:24

Why can't you go to a shop? Are you shielding? I think a trip to a shop for baby clothes is pretty essential!

BertieBotts · 11/01/2021 08:26

I think because a lot of actual clothing stores are closed the supermarkets are selling out much more as people do their quick browse and buy there if they don't want to buy online. I know I would but it makes it frustrating when you really need something!

Maybe because clothes shops are all shut!
Floofsquidge · 11/01/2021 08:44

Got a lot of my son's basics from Amazon in lockdown. Look for Simple Joys by Carters.

LaBellina · 11/01/2021 08:47

Perhaps try Uniqlo?
They have a lot of cute and good quality baby stuff. Their baby leggings are very good, as are their bodysuits.

Lovemylittlebear · 11/01/2021 08:51

I’m selling all my youngest daughters clothes on eBay that she has grown out of. I am going through things and have bags for charity shop and bags for eBay. I know a couple of others doing the same thing. I’m then spending the dosh on clothes for the baby boy that we are expecting. At the moment there seems to be quite a lot of nice nearly new or even new stuff and I’ve bought a few bits that I’m actually really pleased with and I’m a bit of a baby clothes snobs. Maybe take a look and see if you find some bits that you like x

Metallicalover · 11/01/2021 08:52

Another vote for M&S or even John Lewis. The quality is good and I've found it reasonably priced xx

inappropriateraspberry · 11/01/2021 08:52

@theantsgomarchin Supermarkets aren't, and they sell a good range of baby clothes.

AFP10 · 11/01/2021 08:53

I'm in the same position. I've managed to get bits from Very and Tu. H&M also have a few bits too.

Did you miss the part in the opening post where OP said she's looked in supermarkets but can't find any sizes???
