Not sure about anyone else but obviously atm im trying to gather up what i need for baby, clothes wise, but im having a nightmare. I planned to buy all the basics in the likes of asda/tu etc but trying to get them in the sizes i want is a nightmare!! So much seems out of stock or unable to deliver, please go in store, which you cant do. Even alot of Nexts stuff is delivery in 5 to 6 weeks. Just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue.

I second h and m! If you sign up as a member it's free delivery!

inappropriateraspberry · 11/01/2021 08:58

I read it that she couldn't find the sizes online from tu etc. That's why I suggested the actual shop!

babba2014 · 11/01/2021 08:59

Yes this happened to me last year.
Then suddenly there was stock.
Check places like shpock often for new clothes.

I'm from NI and in the same boat. I've got things from Tesco and then online Matalan, H&M and M&S.
Had lovely things in my basket in Tu online and they've decided not to deliver here anymore due to brexit... so that's very annoying.

Thatsnotmynamename · 11/01/2021 09:02

@PFin, not sure how similar NI is to Ireland but all the clothes sections in supermarkets are closed off here with just a very small section of baby grows and underwear available. I know your home deliveries in NI have been dramatically impacted by brexit too so its a bit of a nightmare and making everything a lot more expensive when you can find it.

I'd definitely go with bundles from eBay (if you can get delivery ok - preferably from within NI) or Facebook for a one off load of clothes - just be sensible about hygiene when collecting. Or ask on Facebook if any friends have anything you can borrow for 0-3 months until things improve and do a doors step collection/ drop off. I'm sure people will be more than happy to help out.

H&M have lovely baby stuff and big packs of vests etc. Excellent quality mostly. Not sure the smallest sizes they do but worth a look - my twins are 4 and still in vests due to autism and still use their vests and lots of their jumpers and things.

Normally I’d recommend ordering a load of Bonds Wondersuits direct from Australia when they have one of their 30% off sales - zip up sleepsuits are the best and you’ll use them so much! Shops here sell them for £20 each but I get them for about £7-£8 a suit in their sales, free shipping over a certain amount. Not sure what’s happening with shipping at the moment though thanks to Brexit.

Thirdlifecrisis · 11/01/2021 09:11

I got most of mine on eBay, plenty of people sell bundles of one size and post them out. Handy for essentials.

HickoryDickoryDot · 11/01/2021 09:20

Definitely recommend H&M, their baby stuff is lovely and reasonably priced. Lindex and Newbie are pretty similar too. John Lewis is similar to M&S price wise and quality.

If you like the idea of the Bonds Wondersuits as suggested by a PP, Brighter Babes is the UK stockists for Bonds so you don’t need to worry about postage etc. They usually have sales on too. eBay sometimes has them too.

Gap also sells zip up sleepsuits which are so much easier than poppers! Also recommend this style of vest where you don’t need to put it over the head, just lie them down and do it up like a jacket - www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/baby/new-born-age-3-24-months/one-pieces-bodysuits?quickView=434279

If you like wooly stuff, Lana Bambini has a closing down sale on right now with crazy prices for lovely hats, gloves and warm booties Smile

Theres always lots of bundles for baby clothes on Facebook marketplace, Gumtree and Ebay. Saves money and better fle the environment, I've got all my clothes ready for DD in sizes newborn up to 9 months and it cost me about £10 in total. There's often free bundles too, I got 10 Nutmeg sleepsuits for free!

Then I got some multipacks of bodysuits and sleepsuits from M+S in the sale after Christmas

tofuschnitzel · 11/01/2021 10:15

I wish I could go to Primark. I am expecting twins and the cost of clothes really adds up! I just want some inexpensive basics to see me through the first few months.

PFin · 11/01/2021 17:11

@inappropriateraspberry i can go to a shop but as i said only shops open atm are asda, tesco, sainsburys and all lacking in sizes of much of everything.

For everyone that said M&S i got a good load of that and @AFP10 Matalan was very good got loads of sleepsuits and had all sizes. Supermarkets defo no good atm its most peoples only option so sold.out on alot.

@Floofsquidge i went on amazon too got lots of extra bits there muslins, bibs, swaddles an all i would of gotten from a clothes shop usually defo worth a look!

@Littlegoth i liked having clothes for every size too and by time youre done and you get gifts from everyone little one is practically sorted for a year!
