I'm 25 weeks and I think mine might be on its way to popping. It's suddenly looking very flat (normally an 'innie'). Seems very early though... What's everyone else's experiences?

SSSandy2 · 25/10/2007 13:00

Mine never did

seemed bigger/wider after having had ds (though, to be fair, general stomach area was a lot bigger )

better to not have it pop out imo...can wear tight tops without having the button bit sticking thru

Skirmish I'm with you that it's better if it doesn't pop out for tight tops. Interesting that lots of you are saying yours never did go pop. I'd never considered that, doh

Mine is flat but if I move my skin on my belly up and down it sort of pops out a bit. I hate belly buttons they make me queasy so I would have been really freaked out if mine had popped out!

CatIsSpooky · 25/10/2007 13:10

god I hated it when mine popped out
think it was probably around 6 months but wouldn't swear to it...

kittywitch · 25/10/2007 13:11

mine never did!

LadySanders · 25/10/2007 13:14

i'm 26 weeks and mine is very flat but dunno if will pop. 1st pregnancy it stayed totally inny. apparently they pop more if your baby is well behaved and goes with its spine pressing against your stomach, whereas mine are obviously not getting it at all, this one is spine to spine with me and breech just as last one was...

LadySanders · 25/10/2007 13:15

actually he's not even breech, that would be too normal, he's totally transverse with head sticking out one side of me just under my ribs and bottom sticking out other side. i look like i've swallowed a brick.

empen · 25/10/2007 13:19

LOL

Naetha · 25/10/2007 13:27

Mine's still an innie at 31 weeks, however I have discovered a mole inside it that I never knew I had

empen · 25/10/2007 13:29

I have found that lots of things are belly button height - the sharp edge of my cooker, edge of my washing machine, shelf in the hallway. I found out as each one stabbed me!

VodooLULUmama · 25/10/2007 13:33

mine did not pop out eitehr time, but both of mine were OP babies

neuroticlady · 25/10/2007 13:35

LOL LadySanders and Naethea. I have heard one advantage to popped belly button is the opportunity to pick all that fluff out of it . Oww, empen!

mine went completely flat but never popped out. DS was in the "right" position ie spine forwards, but my bump wasn't very big so maybe there wasn't enough pressure in there!

Never got that weird dark line either - although I did sprout some extra hairs on my tummy! (sorry - tmi!)

Gemy · 25/10/2007 13:49

I was about 22/23 weeks when mine popped out - eeek! I don't like it though...feels all funny but my husband loves it and always plays with it! (uuurgh shudder)

slim22 · 25/10/2007 15:03

never!

PanicPants · 25/10/2007 15:04

Mine didn't either!

mum2bejan · 25/10/2007 20:43

I'm 27 weeks and belly button is very flat. Am hoping it wont pop out as that is a huge phobia I have. I am finding the thought of that popping more traumatic at the moment than the thought of giving birth!

PuppyDogsTails · 25/10/2007 21:21

I'm 32 weeks and it still hasn't, though it is getting flatter all the time. Really glad to hear that lots of people's never did pop out, Im guessing mine wont, but who knows what will happen in the next 8 weeks

widgetsmummy · 26/10/2007 13:57

I was wondering this too - I'm 24wks and its at a steep angle towards my boobs currently...

Hubby's game of the moment it to try and suck it into being an outie (yuck!!!! sorry TMI!)
