@felicityheather that's good to hear. As a permanent employee you are obviously entitled to time out sick and paid up to a point. So it's worth checking what the sick pay policy is. Now they know that you're pregnant it's much better all round and they aren't going to want to add to your stress so hopefully you'll feel much better about that at least and can focus on your own health and baby 🥰 I've also had a tip from my SIL who works at the hospital to lay it on THICK with the EPU when you call to say the uncertainty and intermittent bleeding is really impacting your mental health, which it absolutely is. They should be more inclined to get you in as soon as you reach 6 weeks. If you have a history of MCs like I do this should also help get you seen ASAP

Sparrow91 · 08/01/2021 15:25

@felicityheather don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself! You can ask to be furloughed I believe - if you’re worried about handling everything then definitely push for that and explain why xx

Hope everyone with sickness is doing okay! Luckily for me I’m just nauseous but have an 8 week old puppy to run after now! I’m knackered already... god help me when baby arrives!

Idreamof2more · 08/01/2021 15:47

@lilyj13 sounds utterly horrific! Bless you. X

clm1987 · 08/01/2021 16:46

@Sparrow91 we bought a puppy a week before we found out about the baby 😂 pick him up in 3 weeks so it's going to be a mad year!

felicityheather · 08/01/2021 18:19

I always heard it was good to have the puppy about six months before the baby and everyone is more likely to adjust well. Maybe you timed it right!!

lilyj13 · 08/01/2021 18:38

Anyone got a metallic taste in their mouth yet?

Highfalutinlootin · 08/01/2021 19:01

@Greenbks Thank you for the info and encouragement. It's very helpful to know that other women have been through this.

@Scotti84 Yes, I'm feeling exactly the same. No vomiting but constant feeling of nausea for a week now. I'm a useless blob lying on the couch all day. I'm going to ask my doctor about both Zofran (odansetron) and Diclegis at my 7 week appointment next week. I can't go on like this.

@Darklava09 I'm also feeling very down and a bit depressed about it. At least for me, I think a lot of it is caused by the sickness. But I also think the reality of the baby and the lifestyle change is hitting me. I was so focused on getting pregnant that I don't think I really thought through the baby part. Feeling blah about it.

Lynne425 · 08/01/2021 19:43

Can I join please 💕

Got my BFP on 1st January so amazing start to the new year

Think I'm due 14th September so on week 4 and my son will be 2 next month!

I've had zero symptoms so far so keep poas to see those two lines to confirm!

What is everyone doing to keep them occupied until the 12 week scan xx

Darklava09 · 08/01/2021 19:47

@Highfalutinlootin yeah I totally can relate. This is my second but there is almost a 9 year age gap. I expected it to take so long that when it happened so fast it’s like I didn’t have time to process it. Then the reality sets in such as i lm gonna have to save money, we won’t be able to afford abroad holidays for a while, I’m gonna have to have a career break, what if it halts my career, what If I can’t cope with the sleep (my first born was so good in a lot of areas and still is now) I’m worried encase the second child is naughty and unbalances our perfect set up. It’s mad.
I’ve got the midwife in 2 weeks so I’m gonna talk it through with her. Smile

Beckie1994 · 08/01/2021 21:50

So took a pregnancy test today and its positive! First time being pregnant... Super excited. Had a few symptoms... Mood swings are crazy today 🙄😂

danigrace · 09/01/2021 07:41

Big welcome and congratulations to all the new BFPs!! ❤️

@Lynne425 I'm due on the 14th too, think there are quite a few of us!!

Need my walking stick already to get to the toilet at night! I have an array of complex health issues one of which means my connective tissue doesn't work properly so ligaments and therefore joints are very loose so the added pregnancy relaxin means my pelvic joints all literally go for a slide when a first stand up and for the first few steps (the two at the back trap the nerves that go down your leg making them buckle). BUT this is pregnancy 3 so I knew the drill going into it and chose to do it anyway and absolutely and totally determined to thoroughly enjoy this pregnancy!! Doing well with it so far, the pain has just made me smirk and roll eyes knowing it means pregnancy for me and I don't feel 'bad' about it mentally if that makes sense? hope it continues!

felicityheather · 09/01/2021 08:14

That's a great attitude @danigrace

ErrolFinn · 09/01/2021 08:23

Hello,
Can I also join? Just got my BFP, due 17th Sep according to the online calculator. It will be our first and I'm feeling excited but also pretty overwhelmed!
Congratulations to all the other BFP.

4 weeks today and so many mixed emotions

2020mc · 09/01/2021 12:12

Thanks ladies. Really appreciate all the messages. It was my first month of fertility treatment which resulted in my first ever pregnancy so going to try take the positive out of it and hope for the best in the next few months. Just going to go easy on myself for a few days. Hope you all have a good weekend ❤

MrsMcNtobe · 09/01/2021 14:46

@lilyj13 hey I’m 4+1 today and feel the same. Every little twinge and odd feeling plus being fed up from lockdown is killing me 😭
