Oh Pepperpots, so sorry to hear this, after all that joy such a dreadful disappointment.

May the Lord hold you and comfort you.

MaryBS · 23/10/2007 19:59

Pepperpots, so sorry to hear that

Lulumama · 23/10/2007 20:01

big hugs to you

very sorry

AitchTwoOh · 23/10/2007 20:06

okay, that's not so good... basically by an hcg of 1000 they would expect to see something. but it can be dependant on the equipment and the skill of the people involved, i know a baby who wasn't seen until the hcgs were at 4000.
i know this is gutting, though, i've been there. i'm so sorry. did they mention any free fluid around the area where the tubes are? that is often an indicator of an ectopic. and do you have an appointment to take more bloods on thursday?

NorthernLurker · 23/10/2007 20:22

I'm sorry Pepperpots - do you have a further appointment?

I asume you have another appointment for repeat bloods in 24 hours.

Praying for answers sweetie. I work on a gynae ward so accompany many to scans who have the same news as you. so much to take in and sometimes you don't think of the questions you need to ask.

Praying for you.

I have an app tomorrow for more bloods. It is possible that i have my dates wrong and i would only be just over 5 weeks. I still have v sore boobs and have lost nothing red, and today i have no pain at all. The scanner said to her colleague she could see water, but where she was pressing when she said that made me need a wee iyswim? The doctor said after the scan that they did not think it was ectopic but if that is the case where is the baby???

I hope tomorrow's scan gives better news.

FWIW I had a suspected ectopic with HCG at over 2000 but no sac - the day before I was due to have surgery the levels started dropping. Not sure what happened there but the upside was I didn't have to have surgery or lose a tube. I now have a one year old. I do hope you get the news you're looking for.

Take care.

pepperpots · 24/10/2007 15:02

Ok have just spoke to hospital as i cant relax over this and the ward doctor said that if they had suspected an ectopic they would not have let me home. And also said that most woman have a little fluid so nothing to be alarmed about. She also said that if i want to discuss this further then i was more than welcome to go up and she would have a chat to me. Iw ont go up as it seems pointless seen as though im going for more bloods tomorrow anyway... But its made me feel a little less stressed... just curious as to where the sac etc is

I went for an early scan and there was one tiny hearbeat and something else that may or may not be a baby. I went back a week later for another scan and thre was one baby growing. I didn't register this. Later, a midwife said Oh yes, it was a twin pregnancy, and I had no idea. Had blocked out I think as had had a m/c the previous month. Bloods were all wrong, nothing in the tube. Now have a 2 year old!! Sometimes it can work out.

hunkermunker · 24/10/2007 15:18

That sounds a bit more positive, PP. I hope your dates are a bit skewy and you're only about five weeks.

pepperpots · 24/10/2007 15:23

Thank you all for your kind words. I have no pain or bleeding at all today. My boobs are sore and i am desperatley clinging onto the hope that everthing is ok. I just can't give up yet not until its there in black and white. My appointment is at 2pm so if i dont post here then the chances are things are not too good
