Bleeding - 11 weeks - Is anyone there?

Hi
I'm 11 + 3. Today I've been having mild - moderate cramps. Went to the toilet and when I wiped there was dark brown blood, probably light-medium period amount.
My cramps are now feeling worse and I've taken paracetamol. My midwife isn't answering. The emergency gynae unit is closed at weekends. I cried on the phone to the hospital receptionist. She said to go to A and E if bleeding gets worse or there's clots.

My 12 week scan is on Monday anyway, doubt they can get me in before then anyway.

Either way there's nothing I can do is there.

Does anyone have any reassuring stories? Please.

I had the same at similar stage. Went on to have a healthy baby. Never did know why I bled at that stage.

I so hope you and your little one have a good outcome.

YoungScrappyHungry · 12/12/2020 18:07

Thank you @Iwonder777
Did you have cramps as well?

I did.

Was a long time ago I'm afraid, but I remember being petrified.

Can you keep us in the loop x

@YoungScrappyHungry I had this on Monday, had bright red blood, no idea the cause, went to my 12 week scan on Tuesday baby was fine, couldn't tell what caused the bleeding!

teezletangler · 12/12/2020 18:13

Hi OP, I had this at 11 weeks along with cramps. I had a subchorionic hematoma. It all settled down at 14 weeks and I had a healthy baby. Brown blood is old blood and is usually less concerning. Cramps can be normal for some women (I cramp a lot in early pregnancy) so it's hard to know. However I'd agree that until emergency gynae opens on Monday, you should monitor it and go to A&E if you start bleeding heavily/red or pass clots. I know it's a really worrying thing to go through.

YoungScrappyHungry · 12/12/2020 18:26

Thank you all. Still cramping, seems to be getting worse pain wise but only very very light bleeding at the moment.

Just an update, i'm on my way to A and E. Woke up with cramps and could feel I was bleeding. Went to the toilet and a large clot came out with lots of bleeding.
I can't stop shaking and crying.
It's gone hasn't it.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. Virtual hand hold. Flowers

Luckystar1 · 13/12/2020 06:25

I’m thinking of you.

Cantchooseaname · 13/12/2020 06:28

Thinking of you as it’s a terrifying experience. Look after yourself- is your partner with you?

YoungScrappyHungry · 13/12/2020 06:40

Thank you so much. DH can't be here cos of fucking Corona. He dropped me off and is waiting.
Gynae team are in surgery but receptionist said they will be here after that.

Does anyone have any positive stories? Can there be clots and everything okay?? I read around this time the placenta takes over, maybe it's related to that?? Anyone have any more straws I can clutch?? Sad

Oh love I am so sorry. I know it is hard. I have had multiple losses.
Have you had any previous Scans at all, or was Monday's going to be your first?
The thing is you just don't know without a scan so breathe deeply. I have had bleeds and gone on to have successful pregnancies and inhale had no bleeding and still miscarried.
It's so hard.
We're thinking of you. It's a disgrace that you have to be alone going through this.

Alonelonelyloner · 13/12/2020 07:15

Have had not inhale. ☹️

YoungScrappyHungry · 13/12/2020 08:07

@Alonelonelyloner I'm so sorry Flowers

I burst into tears with the nurse when she was doing my blood pressure, and she went and spoke to the ward sister who has said DH can come and be with me. So that's amazing, he's on his way.

Waiting for a scan is torture. Still bleeding and cramping. Bleeding a lot lighter.

@Alonelonelyloner sorry, can I ask - with your successful pregnancies where you bled, what kind of bleeding was it, how heavy? Thank you x

@YoungScrappyHungry I hope it's not a long wait for you and I hope it's a good outcome!

niki26 · 13/12/2020 09:17

Oh gosh thinking of you @YoungScrappyHungry . It really does seem to go both ways - I had a terrible bleed and a massive clot but not much cramping. She's 12 weeks old now and I still remember bleeding all over the chair in a&e and sobbing with my partner convinced the clot was the baby. Thinking of you xxx

JMG1234 · 13/12/2020 10:05

I had bleeding with both my pregnancies. Was convinced the first one was a miscarriage as there was quite a lot of bright red blood, I think the midwife I spoke to was too. It's a while ago now (my eldest is 16), but I think one cause was cervical abrasions (according to the doctor) and I'm guessing the other ones were kind of mini periods as my hormones weren't quite balanced. Both ended up fine.

Hope you get on ok at the hospital and everything is fine.

JMG1234 · 13/12/2020 10:07

Answering your specific question about amount, I remember clearly it was quite a gush as I was in a work meeting, got up and left without saying anything.

pringlebells · 13/12/2020 10:07

I hope you're okay OP, sending hugs x

JustAddCoffee91 · 13/12/2020 10:14
