Hi all
I recently discovered at 12 weeks that I had a blighted ovum pregnancy and miscarried last week. Naturally we are devastated but would like to try again as soon as my period returns. Could anyone advise if this has happened to them and they have then gone on to have successful pregnancies? Looking for some success stories to lift my mood!!
Thank you x

My first pregnancy was a blighted ovum. I started bleeding at 11 weeks and had to have a D&C. Devastating at the time but I was also told it was the most common cause of miscarriage. I went on to have two straightforward pregnancies with no further problems. Good luck!

This happened to me with my first pregnancy. I ended up having a D&C to clear the miscarriage and we started as soon as my periods returned (D&C in the Dec, period came at the end of Jan). I fell pregnant in the Apr and pregnancy was a success. I was so paranoid that it would happen again as we, like yourself, didn't find out until the scan. So I bought a doppler and we heard the baby's heartbeat at 9 weeks. All the best.

@Mwilliams31@Emmav2020 Following our miscarriage in November, I had my first period end of December - we started trying again after, my period is due tomorrow but I had a strange feeling it wasn’t coming. I’ve took a test today and we’re pregnant! Really hard to get excited this early after all we’ve been through but hoping and praying this is our little rainbow x x

@Emmav2020 Thanks lovely! Feels so surreal, guttered to not have the excitement but I’m sure it will all change once we have a scan pic in our hands. Hoping you get your BFP soon! Xx

I had a blighted ovum in 2015. Miscarried in July. Got pregnant again with my daughter in September and I've also had my son since then too.
Sorry for your loss, be kind to yourself xx

Sorry you've gone through this.

We had a suspected blighted ovum which turned out to be a partial molar. Had DD about 18 months later Smile

Hi OP, another here who experienced a blighted ovum. Found out late December last year and went into hosp to have it dealt with about a week later. My periods after went back to being regular but were no heavier than normal. Took me a while to get pregnant again (about 6 months I think) and it was honestly a very stressful, anxiety filled time as I was convinced something was wrong with me/just got really upset everytime my period came. But I'm currently 31 weeks gone with a healthy baby. I went for a private scan at 8 weeks for this one as well as I couldn't wait until 13weeks again to see if there was a Baba or not. Hope it happens for you again soon, but don't let it stress you out too much if it's not immediate.
