Hi all,

Short story... last period was 14/10/20 although this was unusually early (by a good week), tested positive last Monday, clear blue 1-2 then up to 2-3 by last Wednesday....

I am feeling nauseous, swollen and tender breasts, bloated and experiencing abdominal cramps and progressively more lower back aches... I feel twinges pretty much all over now and then. I was sent for an early scan this morning and they could not find a pregnancy... my womb lining is thickened but nothing else to see.... to say I am devastated is an understatement....

Potentially 3 outcomes... dates wrong so too early, miscarriage or ectopic. They took bloods and I need to return on Wednesday morning for further bloods.

Have anyone else experienced this?

Hi @Dougal88 sorry you're going through this. Do you know when you ovulated? LMP only really helps as an indication of how far gone you are if you have 28 day cycles. If you, for example, ovualated 3/4 weeks after that date then the too early could well stand!

Dougal88 · 30/11/2020 18:34

Thank you for responding 😘

No, I'm not sure because it was a bit of a shock albeit a very lovely one so my dates could be very out. I was sure as the CB digital was showing 2-3 that I would be able to see atleast something? I am so confused about how I should feel!

@Dougal88 okay in which case there is a very real chance it IS too early. Cb digitals have a wide range. The bottom end of the 2-3 weeks range is pretty low and they aren't that reliable. I dont want to get your hopes up as I know you'll want to protect yourself, but I honestly believe you have a decent chance and it isnt all over. Will have everything crossed for you for Wednesday x

So my first bloods measured as 1500 so I'm back in tomorrow for more bloods and potentially another scan x

It sounds far too early to see anything if CB is saying 3-4.

Dougal88 · 01/12/2020 19:32

I'm really starting to think that my dates are wrong. Clear blue has also given a 3+ tonight!

This happened to me - went for an early scan and they were adamant there was nothing implanted, went back 2 weeks later and they found my now 11 year old! Had blood tests in the mean time and HG levels were going up x

PinkFondantFancy · 01/12/2020 19:47

I think you're just too early to scan - keeping everything crossed for good news for you

WingingIt2021 · 01/12/2020 20:33

@Dougal88 definitely sounds like you're not out. Got everything crossed for tomorrow for you. Keep us updated x

@Dougal88 good luck! Fingers are crossed you’ve ovulated late into your cycle Flowers

PinkPlantCase · 02/12/2020 10:36

So many people on the ‘due in x month’ boards have their dates pushed back by a few weeks when they have a dating scan.

Fingers crossed for you OP. Maybe you just ovulated late that month.

ilesha15 · 02/12/2020 17:22

@Dougal88 hope everything went okay today ❤️

Dougal88 · 02/12/2020 19:14

Hello lovelies, so my bloods came back as 3000+ so they are increasing as they should. They want to re scan on Friday, hopefully I'll be able to see something!! X

Amazing news!!!

ExpectingaMiracle · 03/12/2020 19:54

I had the same thing, went for a early scan and they couldn't see anything, told me there was a sac but couldn't see baby, said it was either too early to tell or it was ectopic . The clear blue test I took was 3+ weeks, however I have irregular periods. I wasn't offered any bloods was just told to come back ia few weeks and keep an eye on symptoms, went back 4 weeks later and I was 8 weeks and baby was fine. Just turned out it was too early the first time I went.
Good luck!

Runtothemoon · 04/12/2020 06:44

@Dougal88
I hope you are doing ok. The same happened to me last year.
Because I started spotting, I had an early scan at 5 w and they could not see anything. They thought the dates could be wrong but it was not. My fb and I broke up after so the dates were accurate. Blood tests confirmed pregnancy however the level were higher but not double. (Maybe 30% higher 2 days later). So i was warned it could be a mmc. Then about 1 w later, another scan showed an empty sac. Then the following week, bleeding started ....
This is my experience.
