Unforgivable...?!

I just needed somewhere to vent!

My partner is super understanding and knows that I’m having ridiculous food aversions due to nausea and I take every day as it comes to decide what I can eat that day that doesn’t make me feel like I’m going to throw up. Today was chicken and Sweetcorn sandwich filler with a really crispy roll. He knows this is all I’ll eat today, one roll for lunch and one for dinner.

Well, I’ve just fallen asleep on the sofa as is my usual routine being completely shattered constantly and I’ve woken up to see him EATING MY ROLL AND FILLING!!!

Am I being completely unreasonable to consider kicking him out and never speaking to him again?!

please note this is completely light hearted and I won’t actually kick him out

But he is on the couch tonight Hmm

@Illy603
Eat tomorrow's lunch today then, job done!

Justmuddlingalong · 06/11/2020 16:41

PFB?

JemimaTiggywinkle · 06/11/2020 16:42

Whatttt. Make him go out and buy more.

I wish it was that easy but because of the nausea I’m finding it difficult to choose meals ahead of time 😂

What does PFB mean?!

He’s on his way to Tescos now. Unacceptable behaviour really!

OMG, DH would NOT get away with that. Grin Shock

Disappointedkoala · 06/11/2020 16:59

Make him get you another one. Outrageous behaviour.

bloomety · 06/11/2020 17:33

Haha I am exactly the same!! I’m really struggling with meal planning as when it comes to it, the thought of cooking, let alone eating what I’ve bought ingredients for, makes me feel sick. I’m having to just get something each day.

Illy603 · 06/11/2020 17:51

It’s a nightmare. I went shopping last week and bought like 4 days worth of meals. Got home and decided nothing was appealing to me and I just wanted plain noodles 😂

I’m finding myself going into supermarkets daily and just wandering until I see something that doesn’t make my stomach turn.

Clever man getting his ass back to Tesco.

I was the same as you OP, I gave up buying myself anything in the weekly shop apart from my staples (apples, haribo and Dr Pepper) and then I would go to the Co-op every day and buy whatever I actually wanted to eat that day.

One day I ate a sharing bag of blue doritos in one sitting. Disgusting.

I remember coming in to the kitchen one day and DH was eating from the (giant) bag of paprika crisps I had decided I liked all of a sudden. He was chatting away and I was just death staring at each handful he ate. Grin

There was also the day I decided I wanted a mini pork pie (always buy them for DH and have never shown any interest in them myself). There were none left. I was raging. How did he not know that future me would want one?!?

Poor sods.

Pumpertrumper · 06/11/2020 18:10

PFB means ‘precious first baby’ and should refer to situations where first time mums are being totally unreasonable because it’s their ‘PFB’

‘I will not give my child sugar until they’re 11’ and ‘I’m not going outside with my baby incase the sun gives them melanoma’ kinda shit!

But arsehole like @Justmuddlingalong like to use it to shame mums in perfectly understandable and relatable situations...I assume it makes them feel ‘big’ Grin

Fwiw OP I’m 8 weeks pregnant and exactly the same with nausea. Have to eat what I fancy when I fancy it and no notice! It’s not my PFB, nowhere near Grin

Illy603 · 06/11/2020 18:19

Haha!! Thank you for clearing that up!

I don’t see how a lighthearted post meant to bring a laugh to a few of us during the often difficult early weeks of pregnancy is worthy of being shamed but hey ho! (And yes, it is my first precious baby!!!) Grin

My poor partner has been sent to the shops several times this past week because I’ve suddenly decided I didn’t want the food I’d bought and suddenly needed satsumas and mango! 😂

I’m glad I’m not the only one being “unreasonable” Hmm Haha!

This has made me feel so much better. Husband got sent out for mini cheddar at 11pm .

Currently have put a jacket potato in the oven... 40mins later... not sure I fancy it.

And opening the fridge door or turning on my gas hob makes me gag and vomit. I feel utterly vile. Now 9weeks. I cant wait for this stage to be over

Pumpertrumper · 06/11/2020 18:41

Anyone else’s nausea at its worst on an evening? Swear from 2pm onwards it’s just down hill.

At this time all I can do is go to bed, nothing else works. Sleep it off and reset for tomorrow

Yes!!! I’m absolutely fine most of the day. I can feel a lump in my throat but I’m not throwing up at least.

But in the evening I feel vile. I find sipping water and eating something small can help for a little while but I’m not sleeping much at night. Hence the day time naps. Just a blessing that I only work mornings.

Clever man for going out to the shops 👍
I went through a phase of only being able to eat hummus and pitta bread for weeks - luckily for me DH hates hummus but if he’d even dared to touch it there would have been trouble 🙈🙈

@Pumpertrumper just to point out, you might think my comment makes me an arsehole, that's your perogative. Just like my asking the pfb question is mine. Hth.

As is name-calling, but heyho. 🤷

Keha · 06/11/2020 21:42

I really hope your precious first baby enjoys that food and you don't have to get divorced.

My precious first baby did enjoy the food. Many thanks for your concern.

It’s all about the beige food.

I survived on mini cheddars. Ritz biscuits and super noodles!
