First Pregnancy - anyone else super nervous?

Hi everyone

So I found out last week I’m expecting around July 2021. Currently 4 weeks + 5. YAY!

So excited and still in total shock but I feel any little pain/cramp somethings wrong and I already feel like the first trimester is going to drag because of the nerves.

No one actually knows I’m pregnant yet apart from my OH but it would be lovely to chat to anyone in the same situation for reassurance and make some new mummy friends for this incredible journey.

💙💗

@July21Baby thankyou so much. Massive congrats to you too☺️

Yes i feel the same. Just want to know that everything is ok. I'll be exactly 12weeks on xmas day. It feels like forever away.

We might end up eatting our own words lol the sickness could just hit us with a bang.

I've been reading so many peoples miscarriage stories and keep worrying myself about how common it is🙈 so stressful. Its hard not to panic xx

BellaBella84 · 04/11/2020 17:56

Hi I'm 36, first time mum and 4w+6 today. My due window is between 18th June and 23rd July and I am super nervous!

@July21Baby Thanks so much for starting this thread. I have a lovely supportive TTC group but there's a fair few who didn't get their BFP this month and I really don't want to feel like I'm rubbing their faces in it, you know?

So todays worries in no particular order...
Increased risk of Down's as 36
Increased risk of spina bifida as cousin had it (on 5 mg folic don't worry)
BMI 29
Medications in pregnancy (had them reviewed pre conception but still)
And oh crap I had my radiation and Covid risk assessments yesterday, and that's enough to put the fear of God into you!

DiabeticFirstBaby · 04/11/2020 18:02

Hello @July21Baby Congrats! yes also felt super nervous and anxious but as the weeks have gone on, I have started to feel much better, esp when you get to that 12 week mark!

BellaBella84 · 05/11/2020 07:11

Morning everyone 👋
In today's showdown between the rational and irrational halves of my brain, rational seems to be winning. Although I did have a wave of panic when I saw my laundry basket was full, because if I can't keep up with the laundry now how will I manage with additional nappies and babygrows?!

@marsvar28 I found this information from the miscarriage association helpfull...
Research]] amongst women with a history of recurrent miscarriage has shown that those who saw a heartbeat at 6 weeks of pregnancy had a 78% chance of the pregnancy continuing. It also showed that seeing a heartbeat at 8 weeks increased the chance of a continuing pregnancy to 98% and at 10 weeks that went up to 99.4%.
The numbers may be even more positive for women without previous miscarriages.

@BellaBella84 haha that actually made me LOL. I say this all the time. How is it possible to have so much washing when there’s only two of you?! 😂😂

Ah thank you! Counting down the days until my early scan! Can’t come soon enough!xx

Morning! How's everyone's random worries this morning?

Today I woke my husband up at 6 to ask about packed lunches, (He's a teacher) and at what point they stop getting free hot dinners. Because I'm sure I've heard that schools are really strict about it now and this is going to involve a whole extra level of organisation!

Apparently I have like 8 years until this is an issue, shut up and go back to sleep! 🙄🤣

July21Baby · 09/11/2020 08:43

@BellaBella84 😂😂😂 that actually made me LOL. Bet your husband was thrilled!

To be fair it’s a good question because how else would you know this stuff. But I’ve seen some school dinners and they’re rubbish, wouldn’t fill the kids up!

How have you been feeling? I told my family on Saturday which was amazing but still have no symptoms. 7+4 scan on the 22nd!xx

Hi I think I have the same due date - I’m 5+5 today. I had a miscarriage in July, so am absolutely terrified that this is ending in miscarriage too - similarly keep checking the paper every time I go to the loo. I also lost my breast tenderness for a couple of days, but it now seems to be back so I am keeping my fingers crossed but not feeling too hopeful. I have a scan booked at 6+2 (this Friday!) to see if there is a heartbeat. So anxious.

July21Baby · 09/11/2020 09:26

@Thedot90 sorry to hear of your loss in July but congratulations!!

The boob pain comes and goes for me but other than that I have zero symptoms. Good luck on your scan, let us know how you get on xx

@Thedot90 Morning, sorry to hear about your previous miscarriage, how many weeks were you? Every twinge is stressing me out at the moment!

Luckyelephant1 · 09/11/2020 12:25

Hi, I'm 5+2 today and have absolutely no symptoms. Was experiencing a few cramps early on but now nothing, boobs not even a tad sore. Tests are still positive but part of me thinks I have imagined everything, I didn't even get any implantation spotting or anything a couple of weeks ago.

Thedot90 · 09/11/2020 12:49

I was 5+0 last time I think - difficult to say as I have PCOS, but this time was an assisted pregnancy with fertility medication, so my dates are much more accurate - hopeful that getting further along is a good sign. Last time I lost all my breast tenderness and had cramps and then miscarried, so every couple of hours I’m squeezing my boobs to make sure they still hurt 😂

BellaBella84 · 09/11/2020 13:50

@Thedot90 🤞 It all keeps going to plan, when is your early scan booked? I imagine every blood free wipe is a small celebration?

@Luckyelephant1 Hi, the only symptom I really have is erratic mood swings. I feel like I'm going completly mad some days!

I'm in two minds about whether or not to have an early scan. £79 is a lot of money, but then an NHS dating scan can be up to 14 weeks which seems like forever away. TWW eat your heart out! In my more rational moments I'm like "what will be will be" and £79 won't change anything. Then I return to my panicked state where I want a daily scan from now until delivery just to keep me sane!

Thedot90 · 09/11/2020 19:41

@BellaBella84 Friday - only me though, still no partners allowed!

I don’t know if I could wait all the way until 12 weeks!

BellaBella84 · 09/11/2020 20:03

@Thedot90 Is your scan with early pregnancy unit or private? Shame your other half can't be there though. I'm still just about keeping my shit together, strangely I think I'll feel better on Thursday when I can refer to the midwives, as if that somehow makes it more real? Ugh I would love for my rational head to make a permanent re appearance!

Thedot90 · 09/11/2020 21:27

@BellaBella84 ah it’s with my fertility clinic, I’m pretty sure private clinics let you take someone in (but check). If this pregnancy sticks I think we would do a private one as well later in the pregnancy so my husband could be there.
Also missing my rational head! As you say this feels even worse than the 2ww!

Cressie2 · 12/11/2020 16:57

How are you girls doing today? Just sending lots of positive vibes to you all. I’m 6 weeks today and keeping fingers and toes crossed all works out. Feeling better with each week that passes. @Thedot90 keep us posted with your early scan Smile

BellaBella84 · 12/11/2020 19:02

Hi @Cressie2 I made my 6 week referral to the midwives today, this didn't magically make me feel better. Cleaning every last inch of the kitchen, including behind the cooker, helped a bit though! 🤣

BellaBella84 · 14/11/2020 09:00

@Thedot90 how was your scan on Friday? I caved and booked an early scan for a couple of weeks time. For the 25th when I'll be 7+6. I figure it'll put me out of my misery one way or the other, my only symptom is boobs still.

Thedot90 · 14/11/2020 09:24

@BellaBella84 it was great, I saw a little heartbeat and got a picture! DH wasn’t there though which was sad, but I think we’re going to do one at 9 week (for my sanity as well as to let him come)

BellaBella84 · 14/11/2020 09:47

@Thedot90 Thank goodness I am so pleased for you! ❤️

Cressie2 · 15/11/2020 00:42

Love it @BellaBella84! @Thedot90, so happy for you and your DH. Wonderful news XX

Thedot90 · 15/11/2020 10:10

How is everyone feeling? The past 5 days I have been so nauseous I’ve not been able to do very much. Fortunately I’ve been on annual leave and lockdown has meant there’s not much to do anyway, so spending the day on the sofa hasn’t been an issue, bit I’m a bit worried about having to be full of energy at work next week! I’ve been eating small amounts regularly, and have got ginger nuts etc, just wondered if anyone else is feeling similar?

Julybaby2021 · 16/11/2020 22:16

@Thedot90 Glad your scan went well. Hope you have a healthy 9months. were you able to see much at your scan? I have one tomorrow 6+4. Just curious as to what you can make out in a scan as early as this🙏🤞

BellaBella84 · 17/11/2020 09:40

@Thedot90 Pukka do a 3 mint tea and a 3 ginger tea. Handy paper sachets too for work. Have you told work yet for your risk assessments?
