Thanks everyone, our baby boy was born this morning - 8lb 4 so glad I didn't birth him at term!!

No name yet as I was sure I was having a girl 🙈

I'm fine, the experience was quite surreal and I'm a sore but other than that cant really complain!

On a totally different note - one for you @Leok83 how are you coping as a vet with the smell of animals?! I love my (very elderly) dog dearly but I just cannot cope with her being around me at the minute! I never thought she was a smelly dog - we groom and bathe her regularly but every time she comes near me at the minute the nausea just hits me! She's 13 so definitely has that unfortunate 'old dog' smell which is kind of unavoidable despite our best efforts. She also has had a few bladder issues and her back legs are weak so she tends to squat in her pee a lot (lovely, I know!). None of this is her fault but I just can't bear to be around her at the minute and feel awful. I also completely irrationally keep thinking her smell (especially the scent of pee) is going to harm the baby because it seems so overpowering 😂 I've asked my mum to look after her which she's happy to do but my husbands not so keen on the idea (although begrudgingly he did agree) 🙄 which I get because she is part of our family and it kind of feels like we're kicking her out! Any suggestions before she goes to my mums and both the dog and my husband fall out with me 😂

I need to catch up with the rest of the thread, sorry. I went for a walk on Monday, started feeling dizzy and ended up having to call an ambulance when I got home because I was walking like I was drunk, my eyes were flicking all over the place to the point where the room was spinning and I couldn't keep them open, and I was chucking up everywhere. I was terrified it was a complication from the c section and I was dying

The paramedics diagnosed labyrinthitis, which is an infection in the inner ear caused by a virus, so basically my body massively overreacted to having a mild cold where my only symptom was deafness in one ear I spent yesterday in bed with DH doing all the carrying/changing for DD, and have spent today on the sofa listening to audio books and trying not to turn my head too fast!

@Fizzl I've a strong composition when it comes to animal smells but I'd gag at any human made smells😄 have you got her on incontinence medication? It can work really well for the incontinent old ladies and would def help with the smell!

@FireflyGirl oh you poor thing that sounds really scary!! I had a mild form of that as a teenager..hit me suddenly when I was looking up at a pair of boots in a shop and I fell over on top of someone behind me..I reckon they prob all thought I was drunk!! Didn't get the eye flickering or vision issues but took me a couple days to not feel nauseous and get my balance back!

Thanks ladies! All looks great with baby girl 💖 she was a cheeky monkey and not in the right position at all, I had to keep changing position and in the end get up and have a walk around the room to shift her! We saw her sucking her thumb though and at one point she nearly did a backwards roll and had her legs right up above her head! Love her so much already 🥰💖
